Does anyone know of a good wine store near the port? I don't want to end up with a poor selection. I think parts of Cocoa Beach are pretty nice so maybe there is one. I will try and ask Barb from Platinum as well.

elaine - I'm bumping this one up...did you ever get an answer? I'm 10 pages behind in reading.

Really? The lid is the key ???? NEVER KNEW THAT!!!!
Opening the lid is bad! You just put it on and let it on until it is time to eat! :thumbsup2

RECIPE

The recipe is so easy it's almost criminal...

I use a 2-3 lb brisket
1 bottle beer
1 large bottle Pace picante sauce
2 stalks celery(chopped)
(I add 1-2 carrots-chopped and 1 small onion- chopped-- This was not in the original recipe I just put it in and like it, so you don't really need it.)

Place celery, carrots, and onions in crock pot, next place the brisket in with fat side down. Pour beer and Pace Picante Sauce over brisket. Cook on high for 6-8 hours. I serve with mashed potatoes or noodles.

yummy. THANKS!!!

We are also not with the group but we are going to do brunch on Thursday because we want Palo dinner on Monday night. I can't imagine trying to do both brunch and dinner in the same day.

Anyone else doing brunch on Thursday?
We are skipping Dinner. This will be our thrid cruise and we have never done Palo for dinner. We did brunch before but we enjoy the dining rooms so we won't be missing them.

Hey there Brandi! :) I managed to get some errands done today. Goodness! The kids are demanding dinner already. I guess that I will check back in a bit. :)

I finally convinced my husband that it will be fun to dress up for pirates night. pirate: I have a costume for my DH and DS. Now I need to find plus size costumes for me and DD. If anyone has ideas, please let me know.

BTW I have a childs red & white striped shirt, a small captain pirates hat, and a cheap plastic pirate belt. It is made for a small child maybe 6-8. If anyone is interested in it for their child, let me know as mmccarthy2@cinci.rr.com. I can mail it to you if you like.

The kids are really getting excited

I got costumes for my whole family at www.buycostumes.com - they have a pretty good selection of costumes in all sizes.

I haven't done Palo dinner yet either, I wanted to see all the menus (3 day & 7 day). And this time, I thought it might be strange sitting by myself, but Lisa said if I didn't go to Palo with the rest of my dinner table I would be eating alone down in the regular restaurant, lol. And she chose a menu to skip that I was having trouble finding something I liked to eat, so off to Palo for dinner, and I have no trouble picking something to eat up there, actually have two or three choices that sound great for each course, .

Hi Karen! how was work today?

:wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

HI Brandi!!!!! Work just stinks!!!

Congrats on 17500 - doesn't that just seem like an awful lot of posts?!!!!!

LOL! Hopefully Marco will be there. You don't really get to order anything when he is there. Well...you can order...but he brings you what he feels that you will enjoy...and lots of it!

This is where I'm most torn. I want to try Palo dinner but missing a dining room still has me a little bummed. We got Palo for 6:30 and have late seating so I'm contemplating double dipping dinner that night. Of course after Palo I probably will be too full to actually do that. :rotfl2:

I have a request...seems kinda strange to post after I've been posting these other posts, but....I wasn't sure if it was okay to ask and just now decided that I should...

Can you guys keep my father and mother in your prayers? My DM called me and said my father was taken to the hospital...looks like he broke his hip. My father is 63, but suffering terribly with cancer and I bet his body is just really getting weak. Anyway - my mom threw her back out and can't move. So I have 2 parents out of commission. My dad has to have surgery and the ambulance took him to Tampa general. My mom is home alone at the house...hopefully able to move enough to make some food. I wish I could fly down but I just can't get away with the kids, school and work. My heart breaks and some prayers from a kind bunch like you all would really help. THANKS!! :grouphug: I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

okay - I'm out of here...I need to go run some errands and pick up the kids....and oh yeah - they just issued a tornado watch for our area for the next 4 hours .... little football players on a big open field with a tornado watch. hmmm...... are they psycho coaches or what?!!!

hugs, k

You got it Karen! I'll be praying for them. Please keep us posted. :grouphug:

 Karen - prayers coming that direction from Missouri!

Congrats on 17,500 Brandi! :cheer2: Less than 2,500 until 20,000! :scared1:

I guess DH and I will just do brunch by ourselves. It might even be a little romantic especially after I drink 2 mimosas (mine and DH's since he does not drink). I had better make sure those Flounders reservations are long enough just in case DH and I start to reminisce (did I spell that right?) fondly about pricing clothes for the yard sale. ;)

Of course we will keep your parents in our prayers. Do you have someone there who can look in on your mother & report back to you? We have some elder inhome care companies around here that you can hire to do that.

I have never understood how people could do that DDD thing. We are SO stuffed after Palo that we would not be able to even have another cup of coffee in the regular dining room. We hope to get 7:30 or 7:45 on Tuesday for Palo. We will see. Brunch first, right Lisa? Then dinner. We don't plan on any excursions this trip other than the ruins that Lisa has set up. We also will only be doing the Rainforest at the spa this time unless they come up with an offer I can't refuse on Cozumel day. :teeth:
