We are taking Sophia and her BF from school Dominique to Cedar Point on Monday. I have been promising Sophia we would take her all summer, and I am finally doing it on the last Monday before school starts.

Everyone else's school has already started, so I am hoping for less of a crowd. Cedar Point is the largest Amusement Park in Ohio, and has some of the best roller coasters anywhere in the US. It is a small peninsula right on Lake Erie, and about a 2 hour drive for us. Sophia likes roller coasters, but not the big ones yet, and not anything that goes upside down.

Me, I love them all. I especially like the ones where your feet dangle, and you feel like you are flying. The only one I have not liked is the ones where you stand up. Amy and I rode one once when first married at King's Island in Cincinnatti, and it is the only time I have been scared on a coaster. I felt very insecure on that one.

If Becka were here, I would ask for a coaster smiley . . .

I just re-read my above post......I don't wait until the weekend to shower! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: We are way out west, but we are civilized enough that we shower daily. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

did some more laundry and got back on the PC to check on Ernesto...
lost my DCL book and I was frantically looking for it this morning and wouldn't you know....it was under the bed. I must have been reading it one night and fallen asleep with it.

ok now we need some major pixie dust. The newest track for Ernesto puts it right above Sarasota on Thursday. :(

DH showed me the new track this morning. I was wondering how close it was to you guys. I don't know my Florida geography very well.

So glad I popped in to catch up because I haven't been following the weather or the news. Great! Hurricane Ernesto - and we are going to WDW Thursday - Sunday to hopefully also catch the Wiggles and Johnny and the Sprites....

DH will be leaving us in a little while to go to his gaming thing so it will be just me and the kiddos. DS appears to be behaving (he is watching The Incredibles and playing with his Power Rangers right now) and DD usually takes a decent nap while he is gone. Maybe I will get a little time to hang out here this afternoon. :)

I need to go finish making lunch. I am making a Mexican Chicken Casserole (not very challenge worthy but I have been real low on points the last few days so I think I can splurge a little). It is too hot and spicy for everyone else in the family so I hardly ever make it since it is just for me but I really wanted some. DH will eat leftovers from dinner last night before he leaves and the kids can eat leftovers or Chef Boyardee ravioli.

Bella - where do you live? I would love to have gone to WDW during the Wiggles promotion but considering all the weekends DH has to have off to go to the games somethings got to give!!

PJ,
we were waitlisted for Friday night at VWL (I goofed when making the original ressie at 7 months) and the notice came yesterday that we have that night added. There's hope!

Angie, I was chicken waitlisted all four nights, so less hope for me, BUT CONGRATS! :cheer2:

Besides it seems that SSR is growing up, two theme pools to pool bars, two bbq areas, a real sit down restaurant. I think I need to head home and check it out. My last two trips have been to OKW, which I like a lot, except for the height of the toilet, why so low, :confused3 .

I am at SSR, we bought on the Magic in Jan '04. We had never even seen the models, lol. We went to see them the week after. We thought about buying when VWL were opening, but the exchange rate was a killer, it was 1.58 C$ for every 1 US$. It was cheaper by almost $3000 C$, when we bought into SSR then if we had bought VWL back in 2001, even with the higher per point cost for SSR. And payments have only gone down due to increasing value for our dollar.

For those who will be at the Port on Friday evening where are you eating dinner that night? We just drove over the day of the cruise last time so this will be our first time actually in Cocoa Beach. DH is a big seafood lover and some of the restaurants listed in the Passporter sounded good but I don't know about the atmosphere with two tired kids. Any real casual places to eat with the kids with good seafood - especially crab labs since those are DH's favorite?

I've thought about DVC for a while but just can't do it. I would rather put the money down on a condo in Gville....since our girls better be going to school up there!! (JK, we'd use it for the fall and rent out the rest of the time)

I know though as much as we spend at WDW in a given year....we probably could have bought no problem with the past two/three years expenses. But I like trying all different resorts....if we ever bought I would try a resell of VWL or BWIV - I fell in LOVE with BW...I can't believe we are going back!! That and the CR were places I said I would never stay!

That's what we found when we bought at BCV and then you get spoiled with the amenities. DH has no issues staying or going to WDW since we purchased DVC. We love the Epcot resorts and the ESPN has caused less vacation date calamities since DH can run over and see whatever game he might have missed. We've actually stayed at the BW a few times this past year. We went from never staying there to only staying there. We still have a couple more deluxes to stay at though so we keep our eye on passholder rates! We've never stayed at BWI and the YC.

It's funny I've been booked at OKW, CR and BC and changed every time...I guess you never know til you try!! DH loves ESPN club!! Unfortunatley I hear it will be moved/going away in the next year or so.

I used to think I'd add points to the CR however since we stayed there this past March/April we really liked the new rooms and the walk to MK but we're not as crazy about the theme. Now, if VAKL rumor were true I would have to get a second job

We are still waitlisted for OKW for either a 1 bdrm or studio. We love OKW, but I am just glad to have a room for Fri without having to move.
