Well, I found out today that we are going to have a hassle with CCD. They have changed the time for the class so the kids can't attend most of Mass before going over to class. Now class starts at 10, ends at 11:15, next Mass is at 11:30 and we get out at 12:30. I am going to be dealing with two cranky & hungry kids in a Church filled with other cranky & hungry kids. OY BOY! Someone I saw today was called by the Pastor & told that if they continue to send their son out during the 9:45 mass this year, he will not be allowed to receive his First Communion. ACK!!! I just can't figure out how we are going to get around this any other way. :( When DH isn't home it is going to be SO not fun.
I always forget that Catholic curches have first communion when the kids are pretty young. Our kids do confirmation and then get their first communion when they finish 8th grade.

My Dh was just over my should commenting on this smilie  !!!! It was funny because he usually doesn't look at this much. I always keep him informed, but he doesn't ever actually read it!

I just had to file a nonpaying bidder report on ebay. That really ticks me off!!! Why do these people bid and then not pay!!!! I could kick them in the you know what!

Our CCD is on Tuesday afternoons, right after school. It makes for a long day for the kids. But your Sunday mornings will be very long!
DH isn't Catholic so I've always had to manage alone (which is why I always hope he is not stuck at the hospital on Sunday mornings so that I can leave DS home with him!)

No...no stories....I can't go there! I will say that band was A LOT of fun!

Band trips were probably the most fun I have ever had! I have a feeling that maybe this trip could rival a band trip except this time we can buy the alcohol legally! :lmao:

Have fun hitting the pirate: . I think I am going to go and do a sudoku puzzle then hit the hay. My DD has been getting me up very early and I don't want to be tired for my big shopping trip!
Good night! :wave2:

Long day at work, and then a school board meeting . . . I'm pooped.

We took a tour of our new High School after the meeting. Our new school is scheduled to open on September 5th, and there is still a lot of work to do. Our HS is being built for 2000 students, and will be about 350,000 sq ft! It is AWESOME.

I told our Superintendent that I want to go back to High School. We really needed the new school, and it took us almost three years to pass a bond issue to build it, and then almost three years to design and build. Too late for DS, but in plenty of time for Sophia. We have an awesome arts program, and an unbelieveable theater, and music facilities and program. (including band).

But, I have to tell all you Bandos, because we could not pass an operating levy, we had to make cuts, and institute pay to participate programs - the bottom line on this was band camp was held at one of our elementary schools instead of at Ohio University, and I bet the kids did not have as much "fun" since it was close to home, and plenty of parents volunteered to help - probably doubling the chaperones!

How about infancy?

Orthodox baptise our children as infants, and after baptism, the child receives their first communion, and then can take communion regularly the rest of their lives.

DW was brought up Lutheran though, and both of our children were baptised Orthodox. I had less trouble with Alex and church, because I was used to the experience as a boy, and he was an altar boy. Sophia on the other hand is a very picky child with ANYTHING that enters her mouth, and pretty much refuses to take communion. I keep hoping she will grow out of it, but no such luck so far.

Most of you are probably not aware of the communion process in an Orthodox church, but let me just say it is NOT pretty if your child is kicking and screaming that she does NOT want to take communion and go up to that funny dressed man with the beard!

DS is having a sleep over at Grammys. Too bad it isn't my DD! She is the one who wakes me up BEFORE the crack of dawn! She is totally in a growth spurt! She wakes up and is looking for a bottle! She always slept until 6:30....now she is up at about 4 or 4:30~gggrrrrr.....

Brandi, I know exactly what you mean! My DD just turned 3 months and has a tooth cutting through her gums already.... ugh!! Where are the days when I could enjoy the little baby coos... here comes the hollering nights of teething.

Sending you some love!!  & Sugarplums to dance on your sleeping head (hopefully till 6:30am :teeth: )

We're getting close, pirate: but the boards are really slow tonight again . . .

Anyone ever hear from Caroline? She's been MIA for a while now . . .
