Angie - new menus since last year? Where oh where? I love reading the menus!

Also, we are trying to decide which night would be best for Palo...what rest would you all skip to go to Palo?

So, I've been looking at the new menus today! YUM! :stir: popcorn:: I'm having to sop up the drool occasionally. Sop. I think that's a Southern word, right Becka and Patsy? Something you do with biscuits and gravy. Anyway, I digress....so I'm trying to decide what night to miss the regular dining room and go to Palo. I think I have decided on Master Chef night. Such difficult decisions. :sad2: I had talked with DrHug about not doing Palo this year since we have DGS with us, but he was :scared1: :scared:  :faint:  So, I guess we will schedule and pray that Aaron enjoys the club this time. At 3 he would not stay in there, but he told me he is excited to "play on that ship" this cruise.

Yep, sop is a southern word...you got it...sop up the juices, gravy, etc
Even though I'm from the south, I do NOT like to sop - yuk!!

I've been wondering the EXACT same thing about when to go to palo...looking at the menus and trying to get the thing pegged as to the best time...you know, making sure we get all 3 on the first nights, and how all this dinner theme/menu stuff works! :confused3 LOL :teeth:
How old is Aaron?? My Kendell is 7 (I'm thinking they're close in age). If we decide to do Palo on the same night, we could hook the boys up.
OH - I just went and checked the manifest - the boys are the same age, and we're on the same deck and late seating as you guys!! Cool!! :thumbsup2
What are you planning to do - go to Palos earlier or near your regular dining time? Not wanting to butt in on your dinner (not even sure if we're going to do it or not), but you know what I mean? I think I'm rambling...

Is there something going on in the dining rooms everynight? I know your first AP is the light show. What happens the first night in PC and L? I know what Pirate night is. I know there is something on the last night. Do the servers do something 'special' on the others (master chef and captains gala)?

We decide based on the stage shows. The kids love them & we enjoy them as well. We usually skip the featured performer. We use to skip WWTBAM when they did it in the theater & gave away a cruise.

We are doing Palo on Monday night. We don't mind skipping formal night and DH really did not want to miss one of the menus that are only on the 7 night cruise. We have had all the rotation menus and the pirate night menu so Monday night it will be. :)

The menu that least impresses me however is Master Chef. I would not mind missing that one but DH wants to go and Tuesday is already going to be a pretty busy day for us - no need to squeeze in Palo as well. :)

do you have to make reservations for High Tea at Palos?

Yes. I have heard it is nice but since DH and I don't drink tea or eat little cucumber type sandwiches we figured dinner and brunch would be enough. ;) Is "sopping" acceptable at Palo? :rotfl:

ya...true...we don't do those sandwichs either.

The food is good enough at Palo to sop but if I did that I would probably end up on a DIS thread about uncomfortable dining experiences at Palo. :rotfl:

This one time in Palo there was this big mouthed redheaded chick who SOPPED her 5 star Palo cuisine!!!! The horror! As if that was not bad enough she kept talking about bananas and coconuts during her meal. Can you imagine? Does DCL not have standards anymore to let such a person not only get on the ship but then to let then eat in Palo on formal night!!!! :faint:

Becka,

I saw your shuttle thread, did you make your ressie with them yet for Saturday am?

I don't know why this never occurred to me before (please no guesses why my fragile ego can't take it... ;) ) but DS went to a birthday party in May in Kansas City at a place called A.B. Bananas!!! It is kind of like a Chuck E. Cheese with bounce houses, etc..

They even have a Pirate Ship Slide and a BAB workshop!!!! How it that for a coincidence!!!!

If more of you lived closer I would have to suggest a pre-cruise meet at A.B. Bananas!!!!!

Actually I have procrastinated and I have not even made my hotel reservation yet. DH decided not to deal with the shuttle. He thinks with both of the kids it would be easier to just pay the parking fee and drive over. He is probably right.... :)

We'll be staying at the Radisson Friday night as well. I emailed the hotel a few weeks ago and they responded the next morning. Just need to give them your hotel conf# and the ship your sailing on. Painless. :thumbsup2

They have us set up for the 10am shuttle to the port. I'm just hoping the shuttle over is as painless and not a Chinese fire drill. :rotfl:

The sneaking through the fence is coming to an end, there is a new fence. But the owners have built a road and you can take a taxi there, the taxi may tell you it is closed but it is open, head here to read more about the resort,
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=291724, and a history of methods to visit, the newest method is discussed near the end of the post.

Hey I claim self-defense!!! They are multiplying faster than you can possibly imagine and some of them are not just the cute cuddly kind - some of them sing music and talk! In fact some of them talk when no one is around them. We have at least one stuffed bear that is literally possessed. It starts talking in the middle of the night. It is creepy!!! :scared1:
