Been to MVMCP in the past, Went the final night in 2001 with my mom and niece. It was good, but we felt really rushed to get in even half of the special activites and only got on a half dozen rides.

And this year the price has gone up and they have taken away the free family photo, not that is was that great of a background, but it did give you a good pic of the family at the event. I was planning to go, but with the price increase and the decrease of the AP discount, it dosen't seem like that great of a deal. For 30% more I could by a whole day in the park.

On the the other hand, seeing as we are going so early in December, this is the only way to see the Christmas parade, and a trip to WDW in December just does not seem the same if you do not see the christmas parade. My mom was not a picture taker at all when we were children, but there are tons of photos of us at the MK christmas parade in 1976. And I have more from 2001, and I will take more in 2006 at MVMCP, even price increase objections stated.

Hey guys, I was just popping in to see what you guys were up to and saw Brandi's question about MVMCP. We went the first night we arrived in Orlando last year (I think it was Sunday, Dec 11). Anyway, I thought it was great. I had made all these commando touring plans and that nonsense and basically we walked on every ride, most as many times as we wanted and got everything off our MK list knocked out that first night, we even took time for the shows, fireworks, cocoa, etc. We were really looking forward to going again this year (we were going to go on the Thursday too), but we'll have to catch it in 07.

Lisa and Mum--I hope your kids get better soon, no fun having a sick little one. I'm getting excited for you guys, I know after the first DD cruise goes in May you'll be able to do a lot more planning. It seems like December is just around the corner!!

Well, DD slept thru the night & DS got up once for a drink. He is down to 101.6. We are getting there!

Lisa, thanks for updating the web page! We owe you a smoothie! :woohoo:

Patsy, DrHug did a good job making the "minor adjustment" to the sign above our heads! Take a look. Very cool! :smooth:

Jordan, if you want to get your photo on the MiniMeets page you HAVE to meet us at DL! Be there or be square!! (showing my age again! :rotfl: )

We were at MVMCP last year on Thursday before cruise. It was alot of fun. :woohoo: It was fun having free (or is that included??) hot chocolate and cookies and the parade was great! We did not do a lot of rides, but we did go on Buzz Lightyear several times!! There was trouble in Sector Nine and Buzz needed our help. :lmao: :rotfl2: Don't know if we are going again this year. Still in the planning stages here.

I had a hard time justifying the cost in addition to the regular ticket price for the rest of the day. I guess that we will just not experience this. We go on a day when there is not the special party so that we can go early & stay late. :)

:( :( :( :(
Well, I just checked the dates for the MVMCP and am very disappointed that they are being held the two days that we will be in FL before the cruise. I was really hoping to do MK on Thursday & enjoy the resort & MGM on Friday. I guess that we can do MGM...though there aren't many rides there for DD...if anything actually. Oh well. :( I'll get over it by December...after all...we will be getting on the ship soon after!

I know what you mean about the cost of MVMCP. It is just one of those things that I just want to do! I am like a little kid!!! I guess we will do it even though the cost for a full day is only a little bit more!

Lisa- We also like MGM but it isn't a great park for little guys! On our last trip there really wasn't much for our son. He liked a few of the shows but the rides are all too "big" for him.

I know...hence, my disappointment. We don't want to do Epcot with the kids yet. DD needs to be another year or two older & AK doesn't have the rides for us either & DS wont go to the 3D show there so that leaves MGM. The last time we went to MGM DD asked me when we were going to do the rides. We do all love Fantasmic though so will look forward to that. :) We all enjoy the B&B show, IJ adventure, & the stunt show. That park actually has rides for DH & myself...RNRR & TOT. We haven't done the great movie ride even seen the HIWTK playground...so now I know that we will enjoy ourselves again. :)

I have never been to MVMCP, so I don't know how things compare, but my favorite event at Christmas is the Osborne lights. Lisa, if you are doing MGM, your children will probably be thrilled with the lights. And even though the cocoa is not free, it is available from street vendors in the NYC neighborhood, as well as a few other winter-time treats, with the fake snow creating the right mood.

You know what? Last year John & his family took the kids to the lights so that DH & I could use our FPs on RNR & I ended up wanting to try TOT. We never did see the lights but the kids loved them. Thanks for giving us another reason to look forward to it. :)

Lisa - you will have a great time in MGM. The great movie ride is AWESOME! My first time was the best!

I am getting so excited about this trip. I can't believe it is so far away! I will call Disney tomorrow and try to get the tickets for the MVMCP.

MVMCP always seemed a little too expensive. I am sure my kids would enjoy the special parade/shows but there is no way they could stay up that late anyway so it is definitely not worth the cost for us.

We have not made any decisions on how long we will be there but I can't imagine spending a day or two in the parks before the cruise. However with it being a 7 day cruise and with us probably driving from Missouri I don't know if we will have the time to really visit any of the parks. DS will be very disappointed.

Plus, I don't know how we would choose which park to do. DS loved the MK but he has repeatedly talked about how we have to see Fantasmic next time and go back to the AK. We would need at least 2 park days probaby 3 and then we are looking at way too much time off work.

We usually go down on Wednesday & drive home after the cruise. Last time we decided to switch it up & go after the cruise. That was too tiring. We haven't gone to AK yet. The kids are happy at the lego store in DTD. :)

I spent the day spraying blackberries and weeds, doing laundry, making dinner, doing dishes. :sad2: Yuck!

I would recommend Thursday rather than Friday if you have that option for MVMCP. Not quite so crowded. Last year Friday before the cruise sold out, Thursday did not.

Good morning everyone!!! Remember me? Sorry it has been a while. I've been swamped at work and at home.

Glad to see everyone is doing well.

I'm hoping things at work calm down a little bit so I can stay in touch with everyone.

Lisa- hope your son is doing better

Mumoftwopirates- is your son okay? I read about him being in the hospital, but I didn't see an update post. Hope all is okay!!

Everyone else- glad to hear life is good.

My son has a big event at church on Saturday - his First Holy Communion - big day in Catholic life. So....I'll be busy getting ready to host 12 people at my house on Friday night and then a little party for about 50 people on Saturday. Do I sound stressed? :rolleyes2 Guess that's why I'm on here - you guys are my stress reliever! ... so thanks!!
