So DH and I decided that we would bite the bullet and get a gardener because neither of us enjoys yardwork. We have about a 1/4 acre which is lawn and shrubs, with a rose garden and small fruit orchard-to-be... not too much work, just not my idea of an enjoyable weekend afternoon.

I called up my landscaper to ask for a gardener referral and he came over with his brother-in-law who does maintenance, to give me a quote. While he was here, I asked about re-doing the landscaping in our front yard. I am such a sucker. Danny does such fabulous work and he always knows what looks good -- so I threw caution to the wind and let him come up with a plan....

Needless to say, the work will cost as much as another cruise but I know we'll love the finished product so I'm going to suck it up and let him do it. It will be nice to have the front yard "finished" -- we had tried to change it up from the builder's standard installed planting (yuck) but we do a poor job of it as do-it-yourselfers. I'll take some pics and you can see the before and after when he's done later this month.

That sounds wonderful, Joy! Can't wait to see the finished product. A nice yard is great to sit in and enjoy while the kids play. That will last you much longer than a week.

The kids & I have been playing twister. It's not quite as easy as I remember. DD has had to pull the mat around so that she can reach with some of the combos. I gave up but they are having fun practicing so that they can beat daddy tomorrow.

I was just reading the super sleuther's potential findings on 2008 itinerary for the Magical Cruise Company dba Disney Cruise Line. Interesting. Well I won't be going to LA so, so much for that time period but its a pretty cool find.

Yes cool.... Devon took what seems like forever to ride a bike...and by then she was so tall that she had a 20" bike already....

The best story i have from her learning to ride was a few days after we took the training wheels off.

She comes in crying saying her bike fell and i asked how come she couldn't stop and she replied, "Cause i had my rollerblades on, Mom"

Bella had no patience with her bike last summer once I took the training wheels off. She is a demon on her scooter though...

So, Angie it looks like DCL wants to sail out of LA again in summer 2008, but that the port of LA wants more money from DCL for the pleasure.
