I think next cruise I will stick to the light menu. I tried the steak a few nights but keep thinking the other foods sounded good so always tried them. I probably should've ordered from both menus so I'd have a light backup when I didn't like the other stuff.

Dody, you know when I think about it, that is exactly what I did... either for DD or for me.

I am still on the fence with the TA thing too. If I put it in now, I would be at the bottom of the barrel, so what does that leave me? I had much luck booking the Repo Med and got right on with a CM, but this one will be much worse as far as the number of phone calls go. They need to release the prices already!! :headache:

Plus, what if DCL decides the 10% and OBC can't be applied? Then I lose that as well?? Guess that really wouldn't matter since I can't hold a booking for that long and I need the deposit money.:rolleyes1

This I debated and debated about. Because my ressie is complicated by a non refundable deposit AND I have to have a specific size stateroom AND DH will be in New Orleans on the 31st. I decided in order to get my child to school and take care of the puppy there was no way I could take care of this on my own and feel like I did my best. I am hoping that DU can just grab a certain number of each category first and go from there.... Plus, the $300 stateroom credit did not hurt at all. I would not go back to my old TA for this one because really, I knew a lot more than her and had to keep telling her everything. She would have no concept of how important it was to call early on the 31st.

There are at least a few DIS geeks who haven't at least "stopped by" the thread since the cruise (yeah, I know, they probably have a real life). Thought about this because DH needed to take the camera to work today... so I thought he might not like my camera bag "as is" .... with all of my buttons from Karen, and a lime-green ribbon, decorating it. My buttons still make me crack up. I wonder if I can get them in my scrapbook (oh, yeah, need to get on that, too). Karen did a great job with the buttons:
"Responsible for keeping the anti-crafter and the crafters separate"
"Hold on to your bananas and coconuts. The DISers are here."
:lmao:

Hey Marielle, want to come on the Halloween cruise with us and PJ??:confused3 :thumbsup2

It's funny, this thread just feels like so many things. A safe haven, home, a friend's living room...

Savannah's school is only K-2 so she will be starting a brand new school 1 week into the August cruise. If she were not, it would be a different story. She really has a hard time with school and the thought of having her come back from a Disney vacation after missing back to school night, the first week with all the new kids and meeting her teacher for the first time just seemed to cruel for words. After the December Cruise, Steve dropped her off and she ran out of the classroom crying, chasing him down. This is not a child who likes school.

So book both and see how she is a year from now! :thumbsup2

Oh, I WANT to do lots of cruises. Walt and the girls can manage for themselves, right?

And Caroline, I will have to break my personal rule about the Jersey Shore and visit you sometime (I have vowed NOT to be another one of those Philly people who lives to go "down the Shore.")

Do you all think it is weird that I am scared of the new people on the new thread? I feel like Savannah. I keep coming back here where it is safe and I know where my lines are......

Angie and I will protect you Kim . . .

(but I keep coming back here too - this is home base)

Hurricane season runs June- November, right? I thought I read though that September is the peak of the season so I'm a little more nervous about that. I guess it's just a chance we'll have to take since summer-september are the best times for us to book in 2008.

Another plus to booking the september is that september 2008 will be DH and I's 15th anniversary. What better way to celebrate than by taking a cruise. ;)

Our anniversary is 9/15. hmmmm...... I have to think about how many years that will be next year. 17, 1991. Good point, I have to work in the anniversary angle ;)

Everyone has to have a plan and a back-up right?

I have been so distracted by the PC cruises that i never saw that ALL the wonder 4-day cruises from May thru sept 2008 will be double CC cruises....

what about the Sept. 1st one - too late for you? I like the idea of the 5 days - by the time we pack up 4 days might be too short.

Plus, Dody and I can both take you to Palo when we book the Romance package again. altho Dody didn't like it I remember.

Amanda had sign out privledges, but it wasn't so she could come and go as she pleased. She didn't use it by herself, it was just nice so she could get in and out quicker.

Right. I found this frustrating - I would leave about 15 min. to drop them off and it wouldn't be enough. They were very slow and disorganized. After you waited on line they you tell you to go over to the other club. It became easier to just not bother going there.

Are YOU on The LIST?

pirate:

Yeah . . . my favorite show is on TV, but Amy is not feeling well, so I am watching a show on the Arctic on Discovery HD - which is by the way fascinating . . .

Will have to pick up heroes later along with BG off the DVR!

Captain what do you think?

I agree... 4 days just doesn't seem like enough, especially since we'd get no sea days with the 4 day DDs.
