Oh boy.

Great to say Bobby made it home with us...but a little deflated...I was looking to give him up for adoption but the wife found something a-peeling- about him and he made it off the boat. he went thru customs just fine. We thought he would need to go into the fruit bin before customs but luckily all went well for him.

I am going thru photos now...We'll post some of Bobby's favorites...

My DH is working on burning all the pics we took to DVDs. He said we took 14 gig worth of pictures!!! I don't know exactly how much a gig is but apparently he says it will take 4 DVDs to burn them all! I know I took 500-1000 pics a day on my camera. He didn't take quite as many as I did. I was snapping everything in sight.

A Gig? Well, imagine a gazillion and then double that....

Nice to meet you Dody, even though you were having your hair ripped out at the time...

Good grief!!! The kid's are done & stowed away. The friend/family gifts are almost finished. The laundry isn't done. The suitcases are not unpacked & put away. Pizza is on the menu for dinner tonight! I'm going to cancel working movie night tomorrow. There is just no way that I can get out of the house for that long with so much to do.

V - Did you have any problems with your baskets from Shirley? I know you and I both ordered a medium and a small bucket and I ended up with two small buckets. I also requested no nut products due to the allergy thing and DD's bucket had Reese's Peanut Butter cups! I also requested that she put some stickers in each bucket since my kids are sticker-aholics and there were not any in either one.

I did contact Shirley via e-mail to let her know. I was a bit disappointed. They looked great but I was disappointed in the wrong size and the nut thing. I did request that she refund the difference between the small and medium bucket for DS.

My head STILL hurts and I'm contemplating taking them out. It's pretty bad when you need Lortab pain killers to cope with your hairdo.

Did anyone else have anything signed (pillowcases, mats, etc)? I turned pillowcases in on the first day and had a bag filled with colorful sharpies. The lady at GS said they didn't need the sharpies, they had their own and gave me back the bag.

We got our pillowcases on friday night and all the signatures are in black sharpie. I really wanted them to be colorful. I'm a bit disappointed about this.

awww, that's too bad. This is so unpredictable! I forgot the photo mat I was planning to bring (argh!) but then when the kids received pillowcases at the Goofy pajama party in the club, I took those into guest services and they signed them in a blue sharpie (I didn't bring any pens at all so I didn't make any request). They had a special form and asked which characters I wanted and everything. I would think you could request that they use your colorful markers on that form.

oh well, I guess we'll just HAVE to cruise again to get these details taken care of, LOL!

I saw a little girl getting her hair braided by the pool and she was just in total tears and her Mom was trying to talk her through it. I felt so bad for her. She was probably so excited to have it done and then it was obviously incredibely painful for her. I don't think any hairdo is worth pain!

Yes - ours turned out great. You should have insisted that they keep your colors. Well - guess there is always the next time!!?!!!!

Well I got a call from Shirley and it sounds like we did have some misunderstandings regarding what I ordered. It looks like I only paid for 2 smalls even though I thought I had ordered a medium and a small - just a miscommunication. Since I only paid for a small that is fine with me. It also sounds like the sticker thing was something that she just did not hear me say or she would have been sure to put some in. I know we went over a lot of items in my phone call so I can see how that could be missed.

The nut thing was an actual mistake since she does have notes regarding the allergy and they should not have been in DD's basket. Shirley (as is her reputation) is willing to go above and beyond and wants to make it up to me and the kids with baskets if and when we cruise again. I personally think that is far more than necessary to make up for a mistake with a pb cup but I do appreciate the fact that she offered.

Hello Everyone

Well we made it home. I want to thank all of you that made this trip all so special. It was the best. And you all are the best. We booked 2 cruises on board( thank you mom and dad). We will be doing the repo home and doing the dec 8th cruise also.

We are heading to chicago on thursday for Autumn. The surgeon wants to see her before the holidays. It looks like she will be definately having her surgeries in Jan. I am so happy we did not postpone this vacation. All she has done since we got home is sleep.

Alex wanted me to say thank you to all of you that made her birthday extra special. It meant so much to her.

Bobby is now safe in Maryland... Still packed in our bag but safe...

DH and i would like to find out if anyone would like to participate in a travelling Bobby photomontage/journal... Keeping him for maybe a week at a time and taking photos and stuff. (he's happy to go anywhere) and then mailing off to the next family.

It would be a great way to stay in touch with you guys (in case they make us eventually shut down this thread.)

Kinda like sister/brotherhood of the travelling banana....
