My preference for this kind of shooting is to set the ISO speed as high as it will go (1600 on the xt) and set the camera to shutter priority (TV). Even at ISO 1600, I find the "noise" in the photos acceptable for night or show action shots. All my Magic show shots were shot at ISO 1600. I then set the shutter speed to a speed that I think will stop the motion (at least 1/125 - maybe 1/250 experiment) make sure that the flash is turned OFF also. That will make sure you stop action, and will automatically set the aperture for the exposure. Also set the photo quality to the highest.
You can set the lighting to Tungsten if you want, but that is really for what we think of as "white" light bulbs. If there are colored lights, that does not apply as much. The other nice thing with digital, is you can color correct in the computer, instead of in the camera, so you don't HAVE to do that kind of setting unless you want to.
I know you are gone Caroline, and I'm sorry I did not see this sooner.
Pretty neat stuff, eh Andy!

I am mainly thinking about Giona - because if he can spill on it - he will. I was planning on 2 cotton sweaters and one fleece hoodie and his Mickey rain jacket. I just think it might not be enough.
I am now thinking of not doing wash unless we have an emergency.
I can't seem to pare down Giona's clothes - usually I pack too much for DD. But she doesn't really get dirty. Should I just close my eyes and take out several things and hope for the best?
I guess I can just buy something on the ship if I need to.
