nope, none of them dis - there are 24 total in my group from VA
Hi Diana :wave2:
I thought you meant you were putting them on the doors of your dear dis friends. I would think that the stewards would let you get to the rooms before they are allowed to check in. of course this is only my third cruise so I am no where near an expert.

Hi Becka :wave2:
how was work? I called in today and said I am taking a vacation day. Even with taking two weeks off, I will lose 30 hours of vacation at the end of the year. I really didn't have a chance to take it this year with everything that has been going on. I had two people call me from the office & I let it go into voice mail and listened to the message. neither was pressing so I didn't call them back.

Work was not too bad but I found a mistake with an implementation that I will need to fix before I leave. Of course this will be untest in production until the next payroll on the 12th. I am nervous to put something in to run when I am gone but I don't have much choice. I only hope I don't cause big problems for my co-worker.

okay I have to admit something. I have never put together a buddy list. I just go back through the last couple pages and say hi to people who have posted. isn't that sad. it doesn't take much to put together the buddy list but oh well I guess with four days left it doesn't make a lot of sense

That's what I normally did but I was bored today so I finally put it together. :rotfl:

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to check in and say that we are all fine, and doing as well as can be expected. Alex came home Sunday night, and is staying home until after the funeral. Sophia is doing well, and has put a picture of her "Yiayia" up on her bulletin board to remember her.

After going to the office to take care of things that only I can handle, I spent the day with dad making all the arrangements. They did not have burial plots, or any planning, so we took care of all of that. You seem to do that in a very detached manner, and I just wanted to get it done and know that it was taken care of.

Mom was a person who did not want any attention drawn to her, so we are not doing calling hours other than immediately before the funeral at the church.

Your thoughts, prayers, and kindness have meant a lot to me and my family. You all have been in our thoughts. Although there are many of you we have never met, we feel as close to you as any friends we have ever had in our lives.

Thanks again.

And for anyone who wants to talk about how old they will be when their kids are any certain age, we can certainly discuss both spectrums on that. Pretty sure we span the gamut on being both younger and older as our kids grow up!

Thanks again, and I am figuring that Brandi (if she is still around - can't remember when she is leaving) would tell me to break this up, but I am not much of a poster right now, so forgive me.

John1

PS- Vanessa, how many Ohio State hats would you like me to bring for you and John and the girls?

Hugs John and our prayers are with you.

Jill :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Hi John I'm glad you are holding up

My dear BIL died on Dec 20th., 1993. My DH's uncle convinced me to set up everything prior to his death so that we would not be doing the visitation on Xmas eve and the burial after Xmas. I felt so guilty doing this while he was still alive but there was not chance that he was going to recover. My MIL really seemed to appreciate that things were taken care of so that she did not have to do them. The only problem was that the family had always used the same funeral home--I thought I booked the right one but turned out they had just opened a new branch in our neighborhood. They had always used the other location. It all worked out in the end.

Hey--did you see that I was bugging V about OSU? I really dislike that team so much but I didn't want her to think that us Ohio people don't stick together.

:grouphug: John!

I am glad that you have the planning done. I am sure that is not a very easy thing to do. Please let us know if there is anything Aaron or I can do for you guys.

All dug out and its freezing here. 10 degrees with the wind chill. Brrrrrrrrr!!!

We are all packed except for the last minute stuff and the dogs. We have never left them before and are a little worried. Atleast my ex hubby is taking them at his house so they should be fine.

Jill

We've never left our dog for more than about 3-4 days at a time. We take her to a cageless kennel where she can run around an acre of land playing with other dogs but I still worry that with her there for 10 days she'll think we abandoned her. :guilty:

and I'm not far in 6556!!!!!

hey - I have a question - I'm making door signs for those in my group on deck 6 and deck 8 - how easy is it going to be to get them on the door secretly? I 'm want to try it, but don't want to get caught - would it be easy to do before they come to the rooms? would the room steward do it before they open the rooms? any ideas??

Sneak down while they are busy on deck. :)

I keep telling DH we could put ours in carryon bags and bring them. they got groomed today and I had to put a sweater on them because they were shaking so bad. we have two minature poodles who sleep in the same bed as DH & I. they are the only things I am going to miss.

I keep telling DH we need to train our dog to be a seeing eye dog and one of us needs to pretend to be blind. :rotfl: If she were a tiny dog I'd be tempted to smuggle her onboard. :rotfl:

I have to run our Group Term Life premiums through payroll each year. we use a payroll company but I have to give them the computations for the premium. I did it last payroll because I didn't want there to be any mistakes while I was gone. Well they did it wrong and it made a $700 difference the bad way in my boss's check. I am so glad I didn't do it on the payroll that I would not have been able to check. Now I just have to figure out how to get someone anyone to make sure to call in the payroll while I am gone. It is so ridiculous that no one can take on this responsibility.

I don't know how secretly it will be since some of them are reading the thread right now. maybe your best bet would just be to give them the door signs at the terminal & let them put them on.

I think that Diana means the friends that she is traveling with. They don't read here.

The Golden Mickeys has started at 8:33!!!! :goodvibes

We will make sure to see the matinee because the Golden Mickeys was Nathan's favorite show last time and it is the one he talks about most wanting to see again. :)

i doubt it but i will try to help reach the 70000 mark
Yeah you & me together. You & I don't even have 1,000 posts between us and how far away are we. You know I think we should help each other get a 000 post. I wonder if Lisa will post that on the website after she gets back.

OY I stuck my foot in my mouth that time. I thought it was pretty ridiculous that she would post that when you, becka and karen are all on the decks she was talking about.
