All dug out and its freezing here. 10 degrees with the wind chill. Brrrrrrrrr!!!

We are all packed except for the last minute stuff and the dogs. We have never left them before and are a little worried. Atleast my ex hubby is taking them at his house so they should be fine.

Jill
I keep telling DH we could put ours in carryon bags and bring them. they got groomed today and I had to put a sweater on them because they were shaking so bad. we have two minature poodles who sleep in the same bed as DH & I. they are the only things I am going to miss.

Oh, Carla! Hello! :wave2: Your name came up in my DCL conversation today. When she said that we could move around within our group, I told her we were thinking about having the kids sit at the 4 top. She said that they would move the table for us...then said NO! I will take care of that for you now. :lmao:

I don't know why they sat us with some of those green people at dinner, Carl. What's that? The little girl called our DD by name? Well, she must have told the girl her name, dear. :) What are they talking about? An email that she sent her? IDK what they are talking about, dearl. :lmao:

Jill how many bags did you wind up with? we are at 7 checked and each of us bringing a carryon. we decided the medicine bag won't work to be checked so are using a larger bag for those items. the only thing left to go in the suitcases is last minute items that we don't have enough of to pack yet.

I'm more afraid of what my children are going to think when we walk into the terminal. Dh has been chuckling with me for months about stuff that you guys post. I think he is pretty clued in on how big the group is. but I don't think my kids have any idea. DD has emailed a couple of other kids. Ds tried but never really got things started. they are agreeable to wearing the white tshirts with the iron on but I think they are going to really have to take a double take when they see all of you

We have a 120 pound black lab who is a complete whimp and a 8 pound mini dachaund who rules over the house. She is Autumns baby and autumn loves to dress her up.

Hi lisa :wave2:
I got DD a new pair of shoes for formal night and a different pair for semi formal. they both have little heels on them. I hope she doesn't trip and sprain anything. she has worn them a little bit around the house but not enough to feel real comfortable in them

DD's formal black shoes have 1 inches wedge heels!! UGH! They have pretty rhinestones around the edge and she loves them but I wish that I had realized before that they were the only black dress shoes that she had. She managed ok with them on Sunday, they are like her dress up play shoes I guess. :confused3

But isn't anyone even proud of me that I am determined to always catch up instead of give up and just jump in. I just find you guys so funny that I'd miss so much laughter.

I am the same way. Just remember laughter is the best medicine! :teeth:

I guess things are slowing down because of the frantic last minute things that people have to do. I really am going to miss chatting with all of you. I don't take off until friday and I guess I will have to try to post some during the day. Becka what is the probability that I can help push our numbers up?

Slim. every time I say I am going to try to post, something comes up. DH is taking a half day off on friday so that we can have the car packed when the kids get out of school but he still says we probably will not leave until 6 or 7. I keep telling him we could leave right when they get out so that we don't have to drive in the dark but he wants to stay with the dogs as long as we can.

and I'm not far in 6556!!!!!

hey - I have a question - I'm making door signs for those in my group on deck 6 and deck 8 - how easy is it going to be to get them on the door secretly? I 'm want to try it, but don't want to get caught - would it be easy to do before they come to the rooms? would the room steward do it before they open the rooms? any ideas??

Honestly, I think that we all are when we see everyone in one place. :)

I don't know how secretly it will be since some of them are reading the thread right now. maybe your best bet would just be to give them the door signs at the terminal & let them put them on.

How's John, Amy & Sophia doing? Anyone know?? So sorry to hear about his Mom.

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to check in and say that we are all fine, and doing as well as can be expected. Alex came home Sunday night, and is staying home until after the funeral. Sophia is doing well, and has put a picture of her "Yiayia" up on her bulletin board to remember her.

After going to the office to take care of things that only I can handle, I spent the day with dad making all the arrangements. They did not have burial plots, or any planning, so we took care of all of that. You seem to do that in a very detached manner, and I just wanted to get it done and know that it was taken care of.

Mom was a person who did not want any attention drawn to her, so we are not doing calling hours other than immediately before the funeral at the church.

Your thoughts, prayers, and kindness have meant a lot to me and my family. You all have been in our thoughts. Although there are many of you we have never met, we feel as close to you as any friends we have ever had in our lives.

Thanks again.

And for anyone who wants to talk about how old they will be when their kids are any certain age, we can certainly discuss both spectrums on that. Pretty sure we span the gamut on being both younger and older as our kids grow up!

Thanks again, and I am figuring that Brandi (if she is still around - can't remember when she is leaving) would tell me to break this up, but I am not much of a poster right now, so forgive me.

John1

PS- Vanessa, how many Ohio State hats would you like me to bring for you and John and the girls?

Hi Becka :wave2:
how was work? I called in today and said I am taking a vacation day. Even with taking two weeks off, I will lose 30 hours of vacation at the end of the year. I really didn't have a chance to take it this year with everything that has been going on. I had two people call me from the office & I let it go into voice mail and listened to the message. neither was pressing so I didn't call them back.
