yes that is what makes me very nervous. DH travels a lot and it is easy to get pulled away by the kids and just forget to go back and shut something off.

of course mostly I do it with the stove. For every one hard boiled egg I make I throw another one out ;)

The fire trucks came once when I over boiled the baby bottles. YIKES!!

A few months ago when the pilot next door was on training in NV I saw his wife take the baby in a wagon & go visit the neighbors down the street. DS ran in about 30 minutes later saying that the alarm was going off in their house. I ran in calling her name & found a pan with the nipples melted on the bottom on the stove boiling away. The smoke in the house was terrible. DS ran to get her & she felt so terrible. The neighbor stopped by & said that she had something to give her. Easy to get distracted...especially with mommy mush brain.

I don't even own any anymore. I might wear chapstick but that's it.

Remember, I'm too lazy for contacts too.

I'm too lazy for contacts also. :thumbsup2 And makeup, but I did buy some for the cruise but I won't wear it everyday. Hopefully I won't look like a clown, I probably don't even remember how to apply it. :rotfl:

I didn't even get that far...but that's okay with me! Next Tuesday is our December SS teachers and officers meeting. It will be the last meeting for the current pres. I will take over in Dec. It has the potential for being a "bad" meeting. She is still seriously giving me and anyone who she doesn't think voted for her a cold shoulder. I will have to keep you updated on that meeting!
That's crazy. :sad2:

Sometimes I feel really stupid knowing i started this so late..... I may be caught up with all the going ons by AFTER THE CRUISE :rotfl:

PLEASE DON"T!!!! :thumbsup2 You are doing great keeping up. You can't possibly catch up. I just filled you in because I knew it happened before you joined the group.

Actually last year John, Vanessa, Angie, & us cruised together on the 12/10 eastern. Others rebooked but had to cancel. This group is way beyond the group last year...even though they were fun. This one just can't be explained. :thumbsup2

I finished my sub for santa today and took everything in. It is a good thing they set a limit for each child. I am always so sad when they ask for coats, gloves and snow clothes.... I just cannot control myself. Anyway done. Do you all have sub for santa too?
I don't really know what that is. But last Christmas I got a lot for one of my kids at school. I noticed around November that she was wearing the same thing every time I had her for class. Once I noticed that I would intentionally look for her every day. She always wore the same ole grubby outfit. It was horrible. It broke my heart. I went to the guidance councelor and told her that I wanted to give her a nice Christmas but didn't want her or any of the other kids to know it was me. My DH and I got her a winter coat, gloves, hat, bath and body works shower stuff and lotion, hair ribbons, shampoo, gap sweatshirt, jeans, shirts from Sears and K-mart. I also got her some jogging type pants. I told the lady at Sears what I was doing and she got her manager. He gave me a 40% discount on the total because of what I was doing. Then I got her arts and craft supplies. The police officer who runs our DARE program delivered it to the door on Christmas Eve. He also delivered a food basked with Turkey and all of the trimmings that was put together by my husbands Sunday School class. That way the only people who know what was going on were my family, the guidance councelor, and the cop. She was beaming when we got back from Christmas break. Her regular classroom teacher said she over heard her saying that Jesus must have given her an angel to bring so many things. The other teachers didn't know it was me...I did it for her...KWIM? I overheard her classroom teacher saying it in the lunch room. That will always be a special christmas to me.

I always donate stuff to the Bethany Children's Home...but that is going to a faceless person (I don't know them.) Last year was just different...if that makes any sense!

Sorry for the long post...I just got on a tangent...a feel good one.

Is that a donation program?

That is a beautiful story that has brought tears to my eyes. :grouphug: What struck me the most is that she didn't say Santa had anything to do with it. Most children would.

This reminds me of the Crust or No Crust debate...

This girl was in 5th grade and I seriously think she lost faith and hope in Santa. I told my Dh that I am worried about her this year. They moved to a different district over the summer...so I don't even know where she lives.
