We live in a very diverse school district. Christian (just about any denomination you could think of - lots of ethnics), Jewish, and many with no religion at all.

Our HS choir does a Holiday Concert every year with sacred music - traditional and classical holiday music. They also cover both Jewish and Christian traditions, and non-secular songs. They do such a beautiful job, that NO ONE has made this an issue.

It is heartening to be part of a school district where we can both respect and enjoy each other's traditions.

The high school DD attends is the same school DH & I graduated from many years ago. The school has done a wonderful holiday concert from before the time we went there. The big finally is the Hallelujah (sp) chorus. All alumni are invited on the stage with the kids to sing. the concert has now gotten to the point that they have to have two concerts.

It is interesting because DSs elementary school seems to have more teachers that are Jewish and their concert reflects this. In many ways I love it because the music teacher really strives to find new music each year. DS loves it because they have such a diverse program.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend either concert. DS is the same night as my office's finance committee meeting. many of you will remember all my posts crying about the cuts our office is experiencing. I wish I could go to his concert instead but I don't think the boss will let me. We will be on Castaway Cay the day of DD's concert.

Okay, thx, darn, I was hoping it might happen for us. My inlaws booked the trip for us and got us a cat 12 but I'm just happy to be going.

I did the iron ons today. I am a bit disappointed in how they turned out because the green background started out very clear but it now looks tie die-ish. DH thinks that they look fine. I think that they would have turned out better (and used less ink) if I had just left the background white. I did that for my beach bag & it looks great!

PJ, yours is done too. I also ironed our white shirts & your blue shirt so that you don't have to mess with it much on the ship.

I was doing my work. I came home at 4:00 but there was nothing I could do....SHE needs to make the list and start the organization running...without her lead, I'd dead in the water, no pun...

The packing involves her list of stuff we need. I could clean but then anything I move / clean / put away etc is not right....she'll scream because she can't find it.

The whole process has to be organized and she is the leader, I just follow orders.

News Update: Greg is leaving the Wiggles; he has a heart condition. My Walt will miss him (but of course he is still in all of our DVDs)

I read that earlier today. He is so young to have to deal with something like this. Nathan will notice the difference but Allie is so young that I don't think she will. Nathan has gotten where the Wiggles are not cool and he "pretends" not too watch when they are on. Allie is just really now falling in love with them.

Well, she's ironing bandanas and watching ER....I made dinner.....(she left work at 5:30 or so...went to gym until 6:45 or so and then Target...then home to pu DD at poms (I dropped her off) and didn't walk in until after 9pm. Not much going on tonight.

I get to sit here on a wonderful Thursday night watching the Cincinnati Bengals play on national TV. They are shutting the ravens down so far. The defense has been awesome. We are waiting for the weather to move in. It sounds like tomorrow afternoon/evening could be a real mess. Temps are starting to drop and the weatherman says we are going to get freezing rain & snow during the day. We can usually depend on the weatherman to be very wrong. But as soon as you do that, we get the big storm. We live right on the Ohio river and it is really interesting how that affects the weather.
