what do you do with the non-sleepover child when there is a sleepover?

I am hoping I can avoid this whole thing. Are sleepovers in the mother's manual?

I'm ready to go for 1 or 2 - but 6 boys? ugh. Maybe the girls can go to a hotel and dad can take over?

fortunately for me, my boys are so close in age that each other's friends are their friends also. My youngest might have actually had more fun than his brother...the jury is still out and I'm too tired to even say the word sleepover.

Okay - Sleepover Survivor Wrap-up...

Children Count:

One child NEVER fell asleep!!!!!! I stayed on the couch so if someone needed me I could here them (overprotective mom here)

Two children went to sleep at 4:08ish...that was the last time I checked on them and heard voices...

One child crashed around 2:00AM only b/c mean mom stepped in and told them - pjs, brush teeth, find a spot, heads must be on pillows (which lead to them being quite literal :rolleyes1 ), and lights out.

One child came upstairs and crawled into bed with dad (the non-sleepover one).

Okay - Sleepover Survivor Wrap-up...continued

House:

Apparently these little angels found a bunch of styrofoam.

.....does everyone realize that styrofoam can be shredded into millions of staticy white balls?

.....does everyone realize that if you walk by a pile of staticy white balls, they will stick to your clothes and be transported throughout the house?

Nothing broken - in house or on child.

Kind of like the Bernese hair that will jump out from behind a chair and follow you into the next room, usually as if its waiting to be fed...

Okay - Sleepover Survivor Wrap-up...

Parents - me and them -

So I pretty much got about a whopping 3 hours of intermittent sleep. I took a mid afternoon nap and feel better.

Is it odd that the parents didn't pick up their children till what seemed late - 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30

....note to self: set a pick up time for next sleepover.

....and here is the sad part....the 12:30 mom called me frantically - she was late (no sorry or anything) but she needed her child to be ready b/c they had an appt. DH being the not so politically correct person he is, asks the boy what appt they have. The child responds - "A court evaluation".....here the parents are going thru a divorce and they were seeing some court psych to be evaluated. Was she crazy? This child - hair not combed...chocolate donut remains still on mouth....maximum of 2 1/2 hours of sleep....was going to be evaluated? Did she NOT WANT custody?

:furious: :sad2:

Anyway- I feel like making myself a t-s**** that says, I survived my first sleepover!

slowly. His mantra is still "as long as I'm not expected to do anything..." aka "I'm not talking to strangers..." Actually we were driving back from visiting my MIL (I got major points for that one) and we started discussing the cruise. I mentioned V's comment in chat whether he knew I Dised and my reply to her that he does but not the extent of it (aren't I clever!). Since he didn't react I continued.

He's heard about you and John and Lisa. I've snuck Brandi in there. Today I mentioned Diana - actually I started with Diana living where I traveled this week (small world) and from there I slid in mention of V and Marielle (Gators and TarHeels), Brack (his wife being a non diser), Angie and Dennis, Elaine, Kristina and Andy.

Tomorrow will be Becka and Aaron. Karen will be this afternoon because we'll be with the boys and I'll mention the slumber party. No way will I ever mention pins and magnets and gatherings etc. :rotfl: Just casual chit chatting.

My sister is here -time to go....

You are too funny. I feel honored that I'll be part of the pre-cruise introductions

okay Andy. I'll take your word for it. I just know I've been doing a heck of a lot of vacuuming.

okay - caught up.

Now - to share with you football fanantics. My loving, caring, DH just pulled his laser pointer out and is analyzing the Michican/Ohio game with my two DSs - these boys are 7 and 9....do you think they can follow his laser pointer?!!!! :sad2:  :sad2: :sad2:  :sad2:

Oh..I don't know where to start...put it this way, when we go to a clothing store and there is Berner hair on the new clothes before we even PAY for them...yeah, styrofoam got nuthin' on this Berner.

A friend and I used to stay up all night and play Zork, on the Apple IIe...<not a word, John>

Anyone remember that?

Well, not a word huh?

I still have an Apple IIe, and if you want to play Zork, come on over, I still have it. Along with Loadrunner, Oregon Trail, and a few others.

It's OK to admit you once touched an Apple Computer Andy . . .
