Well, no one had any idea of what they wanted to eat for dinner; I did not feel inspired to cook... so off to get some takeout! A nice thing about the Philly area is there are plenty of independent pizza/sandwich shops so you're not limited to the usual chain pizza. And in this family of varying tastes, something for everyone: Italian stromboli, cheesesteak calzone, cheese pizza, mozzarella sticks. And leftovers for lunch on the weekend

DD's former GS leader sent us an e-mail yesterday.....

(some background first)
DD sold over 100 boxes of cookies last year for the troop.
Around $50 in profit from DD's sales alone.
The troop leader never planned any activity to use the money from the sale.
Then the leader with no notice disbanded the troop in June...
Finally the leader sends an email out of the blue saying the money will be used to take the girls to lunch and a movie and SHE PICKED THE DAY....

Nice planning...

Well she picks this coming Tuesday during the afternoon....(kids have off)
But DD has riding lessons and works on Tuesdays... Even if she missed her lesson, it's too soon to get a worker to fill in for her...

So now my DD gets NONE of the profit from all the cookies she sold....

(but even if she did go...Whoopie...She makes the troop $50 in profit... and then gets a what $10 meal and $7.00 movie ticket.... BIG WHOOP.....)

I so want to tell that woman off... How dare she keep all that money!!!!!
Or I guess the other girls are getting a free ride off of devon's profits...

Pj and John - the new MacBook Pro - like it a lot! I still would prefer a smaller screen since I already have a desktop. I've been using the MacBook. I like it too.

I haven't seen the new MBpro yet, we have it on order.

Funny story, today our Apple buyer came in at 10 am and went to sign into apple to order the special orders from yesterday, and for some reason we no longer were Apple authorized, he looked so confused and lost. Turns out that all the campus retail resellers in Canada, were lost from the Apple ordering system, we should be good by Monday. The buyer looked so lost all day, just walking around shaking his head.

My poor iPod died a few hours ago when the battery ran out because I forgot to charge it. Imagine the pain you would feel Brandi if you had hours left to work and your iPod was dead and you had no way to charge it!

We have 6 demo iPods to borrow a cable from, would never happen, lol, But I understand your pain Becka.

Hannah's Brownie troop has not done any "big" events with their cookie money last year and the year before (Hannah also sold more than 100 boxes each year). So when things started in October we find out that they're doing the scout sleepover at the zoo. Sounds nice, OK. But every Mom must attend with the girl. And I cannot go, so Hannah cannot go.

They don't open the port until 10. If you get there at 9 you will be waiting in line outside. Boarding starts around 11:45 or 12:00. If you get there around 10 or after you won't be "standing in line". There are some TVs and some seating, or you can wander around and enjoy the terminal.

We will be having our first DCL DIS meet starting at 10 am in the terminal!

Vanessa, when you say just the number of words she says that reminded me of our second DD (she was/is our challenging one!). Her kindergarden teacher told me that she "tried to get DD to make at least one full sentence each day". I was because we called her motor mouth at home because she never stopped talking. We had her in home daycare with a friend and she was the one who nick named her motor mouth. So, it was just that she was not comfortable in the school setting, nothing to do with her ability to form sentences or lack of vocabulary. She did manage to become "very social" (always loved that term used by teachers meaning they need to shut up once in a while and listen!) by the middle of kindergarden.

You know, DD never talked in PS until she was in the 4 year class. The teacher called me one night to tell me that she had heard her talking to another child. They had to look around to see who was in the classroom since they didn't know her voice. She had always whispered please & thank you or just given a hug.

ALL day long, I took her statement and actions to very well mean she did. He gets around!!
I am liking Alex more this season. I hated him last year!
I think Lisa plans to do a 30 day cut off, which is coming up soon! I know I have held off on making a few things.

V, I took her comment to mean that she had as well.

I just sent out an email to check in by 11/7.

Thank you, I will. I talked to him a bit ago and they were heading out for pizza for his birthday dinner. Somehow he had it in his head that he would not be 7 until he has his birthday dinner.

Lisa, sorry for all the changes to my pre-cruise plans. But I have one more, will arrive 12/04 staying at SSR one night. DVC CM made me keep the WL for VWL, she said I wouldn't want to miss out on a single resort stay, lol, so it might change again, eek.

i thought fridays were good days....ughhhhh.

well as luck would have it there is only one cat 6 left for our cruise, i highly doubt it will be there when we arrive....ughhh

looks like autumn will be having surgery again shortly after we return from vacation. all she does lately is sleep and watch tv and eat.

i hope i am doing the right thing by still planning this trip.

sorry just needed to vent for a minute. my head is just swimming today

I wish it were that easy Marielle. If it were just me and her, it would be doable, but with 3 others in this house that do not know how to put anything away... She will be fine for weeks, heck, months at a time, and then WHAM!!

Frustrating...isn't it? You would think that they would be over that by 5 yo but then WHAM I found pen writing on the top of her dresser. Thank goodness for that Great Eraser!!!

I am thinking on this bulletin board of using the letters in DS's name to show things that he loves and then have a few pictures that correspond. I can't get his big loves in just starting with the letters in his first name so I will have to scatter them. So far this is what I have.

Maybe its time to ask my grandfather for my xmas gift. He might just do it for me since i am the only grand daughter ...lol....i have to use it to my advantage once in my life.

The biggest problem is that the "others" in the house do not put pens, markers, crayons, pencils, etc away. The biggest culprit is DH! Dina knows that she can only draw on paper. It's available to her. I guess she just likes other things...

DD knows that she should only write on paper, paint on paper, and use scissors on paper. That has not stopped her from cutting her hair...TWICE, painting on her bedroom wall, and drawing on the walls many times.
