12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Hey guys! Just wanted to pop in and say high. This will be the first time anyone in my clan has cruised before so we're all pretty excited although we don't really have a good idea what's in store for us. Just booked yesterday and grabbed one of the last cat 4 rooms.

Was wondering what time you guys will be arriving to port. We'll be driving in from Tampa that morning and are hoping to make it there by 11am to attempt a cat upgrade and also try to get a ressie at Palo. Is that too early?

Welcome aboard! That won't be too early -- I'm probably going to be there around 10am, as I have to return my rental by then.

For Palo, you might want to make a beeline for making the reservation as soon as you board to get the best selection in times. They'll tell you where to go for that (probably Rockin' Bar D).

With three young kids I won't be able to make a beeline anywhere unless I leave them in the dust ;)

Shari- Thank you for your service!

Dana- You are in our prayers too. So sorry to hear of your loss.

Dressing/FE info... We're getting there too. We got CJ's suit this week-he's been growing so much lately I wanted to wait until at least Nov. 1st, Mac's formal we found last week and I am SO excited to be packing a little black dress for me! I'm making Rick sit thru a fashion show Sunday when I pack all my clothes. The kids clothes are ready to go in the suitcases tomorrow and we will also finish the FE gifts.

We are dressing for pirate night. We had a great time in our pirate garb last cruise. I even got my men to wear eyeliner a la Capt. Jack!

I made it through a crazy week and am grateful to have a day off tomorrow. Getting closer!!!!

Welcome Freejack! :cool1:

We plan on getting to the port fairly early too... we are staying near by so that makes it even easier!! :)
3 more weeks til we leave!!:banana:

:welcome:freejack - We are glad you could join us! If you submit the "Join" form on our cruise website I will add you to our cruiser list. :)

If you are hoping to upgrade at the port, it may be a good idea to get there no later than just before 10 if possible. A lot of guests will have the same idea! You will need to wait until you are aboard to see about a Palo res. They usually do that at Rockin' Bar D. When you check in at the terminal, be sure to read any embarkation info/Navigator they give you while you are waiting to board. Happy sailing! :sail:

For the people that were considering the robe/wine combo it is great. My husband and I got it for our 15th anniversary trip a few years back. We still wear the robes on all our trips. We did the non alcoholic one since we don't drink and it was great.
I know I was too late to get into the official fish extender list. Is anyone else in this position, or anyone that is doing it have extras that wants to add another family?
I have twin teenage daughters Hailey and Danielle that are 15, almost 16 (12/23).

AYC New England Regionals (that's youth cheer) are comming up next weekend, so I'm not done putting my stuff together. We have a few extras, so we'll stop by your cabin! Just sign up for the cruiser list so we'll know where to go.

I leave for disney in 18 days, I am soooooo ready.

F/E- I have extras so I will add the new requests to my list.

Is anyone else staying at the Country Inn the day before? I know Pluto N Me.. but they are getting in late, and we will be there in the morning on Friday (fingers crossed they let us check in fairly early because we are driving an all nighter).
Anyway, any other Cruisin Nuts going to be around? If so I will share our cell phone #s privately so maybe we could connect precruise.

We are staying at the Radisson, we stayed there before our last cruise, I dont remember liquor stores but i do remeber there being alot of bars.

Anyone else staying at the Raddisson? I plan on sitting by the pool (weather permiting) and having a few drinks to get ready for the cruise.

We will be at the Radisson..................:thumbsup2 Be hanging at the pool around 8 or so after dinner

21 days........here's to hoping no engine room fire like the Carnival Splendor. I can't survive on warm beer, Spam & Pop-Tarts.

Hi taswira. Thanks for the tips. We might have to stay at a hotel closer to port then. Will check out your site ;)

I get into Orlando just after 2pm, going to go to DTD and have an early dinner at Rainforest Cafe, but I might just join you in the pool after the drive over.

Congrats on receiving your docs! And you now have an asterisk! :thumbsup2

I wonder about some of those who don't - the ones we have not heard from here for a long time. I think there are a few who posted just before the final due date/Palo ressie time so they were still with us at that point, then not a word since. :confused3

Hi Taswira, Just thought that I would update you . WE will be in room 2513 and We are all ready to go on the cruise. Hope to meet you and some of they other nuts. I am also a retired Air force vet.:thumbsup2

Well I bit the bullet and put our new 10'ft Christmas tree in our entrance way! :) now the kids are bugging me to put up the other tree in our family room!

I have the stockings ready to go for outside our stateroom doors too. :)

its getting closer and closer!:cool1:

Hi all

Well back to the drawing board:headache: Mom in all her good intentions was over this wk. I had a bunch of bags I put aside for good will (emptying closets and drwers), things that also needed to go to garbage (which was coming that day) Welllll, mommy dear seperated the bags and brought some to the curb and a hr or so later sanitation came and took it...guess what was in 2 of those bags...my FE goodies!!! From the gifts to the personalized tags I had made up, ribbons to tie (I still wasnt finished putting it all together) needless to say I'm so upset because there's no way I can get all this stuff ordered and back in time so I have to come up w/ a quick fix and think of something else in this short time. Mistakes happen, what can we do? As bad as I felt about this I felt worse for my mother who was all choked up because of what she had done :guilty: Love her to death and never want her to feel sad. I made it like it wasnt a big thing.:guilty:ahhhhhhh gotta love her. Like I said...*back to the drawing board*
It's been a long busy weekend for sure but I'm sure it'll be nothing compared to the weeks coming prior to sailing:eek: Put up the Christmas tree and decorated the inside of the house this wkend. I've NEVER done this so early before but we wont put the tree lights on till Thanksgiving night. Honestly, I'm glad it's done. The other cruises and vacations we've done in December make decorating stressful because it's done in haste.
I want to go to the MVMCP the night prior to the cruise (anyone else?) I've yet to purchase the tickets because I worry about the weather...I should just buy them already:confused:
I know this has been posted on other areas of this forum but can we jot down what is a *must have* on the cruise (shoe hanger, bungee cords, night lights so on) or direct me to the link if you have it saved, please.
I'm feeling alil over whelmed I think :guilty:
I hope everyone else is doing well :)

OH MY! God bless you dear!

Reading your post made my stomach turn! I can't imagine! At the same time you're trying to get all this stuff pulled together - you have to start from the beginning on your FE gifts! They need to have a sobbing - balling - crying emoticon for your situation! Until that happens - we all send you one of these!

Not to smear pie in your face - we finally got all of ours in line this past week when the last we we had ordered came in! We were so excited to see how they turned out in person! Now - just how in the world we are going to get all this stuff TO the ship and ON the ship - well, that's a totally different story! :confused3 :rotfl:

We are getting so excited - our vacation starts sooner than most, as we are spending the week before the cruise at WDW. So we too are in decorating and packing mode - all at the same time! We are actually going to get the house all decked out this week, and finish up with packing on Sunday and Monday nights - and then we are headed to DW's family for Thanksgiving - SO - for us, this is the last week at home before vacation! I just know it's going to be very hectic and highly stressful - but once next Friday comes, and we board the Auto Train to head south - it's pure relaxation from there!
