12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Hey Everyone
I wanted to share this, as our plans remain to be on with the Cruisin Nuts, just not sure how easy it is going to be. My father past away suddenly last week at the age of 61. He was not only a father to me, but also a business partner and my very best friend. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers..........and I ask for your understanding if it may be harder for the party guy in me to come out.
I do think the timing will be a good break and my Dad was so excited for us, that I know he would want us to go.

Dana

Sorry to hear of your loss. We will keep you in our prayers.

So sorry Dana!! Many prayers for all of you during this difficult time! We lost Johns dad too this year in March.

Dana. our thoughts are with you. I lost my parents when I was really young and still miss them. Grief has many layers but you will get through them as time goes by. I'm glad you are still coming on the cruise, being with friends and people who care about you is a good thing as you make your way through the smiles for your memories and tears for your loss. Sending you through the screen hugs...

Dana - I'm so sorry for your loss. We will certainly understand not getting to see your "party guy" side, but I know this cruise will be good for you at this most difficult time. Be assured that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We look forward to meeting you and sailing with you. Take care.

Dana, I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your Dad. It sounds like you had a great relationship and for that you can be grateful. I lost my Mom in January of this year, though we had "lost" her to Alzheimer's a couple of years before that. It's never easy when someone you love dies. I will keep you in my thoughts and hope you can make the cruise and still have a good time.

Gail

DWtravler: Best Wishes to a speedy recovery.

Dana: Sorry about your loss. I hope your many memories of you dad, help you thru this difficult time.

just remembered a huge packing tip for anyone planning to hang something from their fish outside their room. BRING A ZIP TIE to fasten your items. I dont want anyones items "walking " away. On our last cruise my friend has someone try to steal their f/e. and it was monogrammed.

and ps: pack mini scissors to cut it free! :rotfl2:

That's sad that some people do such things. This cruise I've decided to hang stockings just in the spirit :santa:
Honestly, I really can't wait!

For the people that were considering the robe/wine combo it is great. My husband and I got it for our 15th anniversary trip a few years back. We still wear the robes on all our trips. We did the non alcoholic one since we don't drink and it was great.
I know I was too late to get into the official fish extender list. Is anyone else in this position, or anyone that is doing it have extras that wants to add another family?
I have twin teenage daughters Hailey and Danielle that are 15, almost 16 (12/23).

Have never had kids and am not doing the FE, so can't help you there but hopefully someone else will respond.

But to all - I'm curious. Did all of you receive an email recently from DCL stating, "Great news! You've successfully booked your Disney cruise!" then further down showing the details of your res for this cruise? They have done this to me numerous times and it always freaks me out at first glance because I start wondering if I'm losing my mind and forgot that I booked yet another cruise. :rotfl2:

That opening line seems like the thing to say to someone who JUST BOOKED, to confirm that it was successful. But then, maybe the person who decided the wording is the same one who decided to include air and ground transportation forms in the cruise docs of guests who live less than an hour from the port! :lmao:

Happy Veteran's Day everyone! I'm a vet (Air Force), but not a war veteran (my hubby is).

We got our cruise docs finally! And I wanted to mention that our info on the Nuts list is correct (noticed we didn't have an asterisk!).

Three weeks from tomorrow we are flying to Orlando and probably heading to MVMCP! Cannot wait!

Thank you Shari and to all our other veterans!! Enjoy your day. (hopefully you can take advantage of all the restaurants etc offering free meals etc.).

I am now thinking about pulling the kids out of school another day so we (I) can go see Osborne lights!! my favorite thing at HS at night!

Congrats on receiving your docs! And you now have an asterisk! :thumbsup2

I wonder about some of those who don't - the ones we have not heard from here for a long time. I think there are a few who posted just before the final due date/Palo ressie time so they were still with us at that point, then not a word since. :confused3

I am sure we have lost a few others on our Nuts list!! I know we lost 3 from the fish extenders etc.

John jr decided for Pirate night he is willing to wear a Pittsburgh Pirate tshirt. :rotfl: he is not a fan of my hometown baseball team... .I cant truly blame him... they are bad!! but that will be us I think on Pirate night... in Pittsburgh pirate tshirts.

pgh Steelers shirts for the sail away... Jerseys on formal nite. and Penguins on another night. atleast we will be easy to spot. :rotfl2:

No doubt about spotting you and your family, Val! ;)

I am old-fashioned when it comes to dinner attire for cruising. I always "dress for dinner" (dress up) because I never do at home ... jeans and t-shirt most every night even though we eat in our dining room. So sailing is my dress-up time. Pirate Night is my Palo night, so I probably won't dress for the theme. Haven't planned on it anyway. :upsidedow

We have Palo on formal nite, so we will be dressed. :) Natalie has her dress ready for semi formal. I might even wear a dress!

At dinner every night we will be dressed.... business casual type. I am not a fan of seeing tennis shoes and cutoffs in the dining room, especially Lumieres. (the first nite and Pirate night.... not a problem, other nights...:rolleyes1 )

the sports wear is for daytime and our family pictures! :) (and maybe character breakfast) you will see it Sunday.. but we will have changed by then..and the game is on. :)

Shari,

Didn't know that -- thank you for your service!

I also got that email in December '09, but had booked in January '09. The subject started with "How Exciting!"

I was like...ok, I knew I booked it, now what?

Cool! What do they charge for the cabanas? I wouldn't be interested on this cruise since it's just me, but maybe in the future . . .

$499 I believe per Cabana..... Not getting one this time but next year we might try it out.... Gonna watch family peeps review them for a bit since I have younger kiddos!!!:thumbsup2

$499 is correct. Here is part of the email I received from concierge:
Each well-appointed cabana is furnished with comfortable seating, a beverage refrigerator, safe, ceiling fan, plush towels and sunscreen. Outside on the patio, luxurious chaise lounge chairs, a freshwater shower, hammock and sailcloth shade are yours to enjoy amid spectacular offshore views. Fresh fruit and snacks are included along with complimentary bottled water and soft drinks. Dedicated beverage service is provided and alcoholic beverage packages are available for purchase onboard at an additional cost.

Additionally, each cabana includes use of snorkeling equipment, floats, sand toys, and one hour of bike rental and they are located on the extended part of our Family Beach or Serenity Bay – the adult only beach area. The daily rate is $499 for up to six guests.

Gee, I think my mom and I will have to pass on this since it is just the 2 of us.

Hello, sshd

I have extra FE's and would be happy to make an unoficial FE run. Also, anyone else. I will use the cruisers' list for room numbers. Just let me know.:santa:
