12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

I love the Contemporary!! we have a meal at Chef Mickey every time, I just like walking around the gift shops and seeing the monorail pass thru.

We stayed at POR in Dec. it was a great hotel too. There were a bunch of pools, but we always went to the main one. and it was close enough of a drive to the parks.

the last 2 cruises we have done MNSSHP the night before.. it was a blast. since we are in a new school district, I have to learn about their attendance policies... I hear GA is a lot more strict.

Everyone who is not on a WDW vacation this week, be glad . . . be VERY glad! In a word: RAIN. Every day, all day with few breaks, high winds some evenings and overnight, then more rain, thunderstorms, lightning.

Pools have overflowed in my community, streets are covered with water so it's hydroplaning time. The lake/waterway behind the backyard has no sandy bank anymore. The water is a few feet up in the grass now. I am not in a "flood area" so no serious worries, but many in other parts of this and adjacent counties are. Makes you be careful what you wish for. We needed rain. We asked for it. We got it! :umbrella:

Well, Things have been insanely busy here and there were plenty of ups and downs to go around. I'll spare the long details but I'm hoping to be around more that things calmed down now!

My birthday was Monday we had tea at the GF, Dinner at Narcoossee's and both places made it one my best birthdays!

We are still trying to decide what we want to do in terms of cruising, for now we are keeping the back to back cruises but the fact the Wonder is going to the West Coast is giving us something to think about with that Repositioning Cruise that is bound to be happening. So we have to decide which we want to do more.

Has anyone else suffered from Can't make a decision to safe my life disease when it comes to planning a vacation??

We are going to Sanibel Island, Ft. Myers Beach, that area for 4th of July so maybe after that we can focus on what we want to do for cruising.

Hope all are well, Welcome to our New Cruisers and will try and be around more!

Hey Amy - A belated Happy Birthday to you! I'm glad you had a good day. :)

No indecision for me regarding this cruise! I won't abandon Chip 'n' Dale! This one is the one "vacation" that is definite for me. :goodvibes

Other getaways are not so set in stone. My DH is supposed to come out here (to Florida) from Idaho in late July. We plan to drive to Miami for another of his fighter pilot reunions, then down to Marathon FL for fishing, then back here to do the theme parks if the weather is decent. But he has yet to purchase his airline ticket because of the flu thing and the increasing cases. I told him there should be no problem by July. They think the heat will kill the flu bug. Sounds reasonable to me!

Welcome Moranclan! :)

Happy belated bday Amy!!

we still have to cancel our cruise for this Oct. we are not sure with the kids attending a new school etc. Dh said he will do it... 2 weeks later.:rolleyes1

tonight is the open house / art show at school.. our last ever at this school! :) (and if we didnt move the kids are redistricted to a brand new school.)

sorry about all the rain!! every time I visit Atlanta anymore it is rainy and yuck.

My county seems to be getting the worst of these week-long storms. Yesterday afternoon, the museum in Daytona Beach was already ankle-deep in water inside, and it's still rising. Several schools are closed due to no road access due to flooding. Several roads that meet International Speedway Blvd. are flooded, as are parts of the road right outside the front gate of my community. I have not left the house since Sunday, and don't intend to until all this is over. I am glad I did some major grocery shopping last time I was out!

It is still raining here and is supposed to keep up another couple of days at least. I am very happy that I don't need to be driving down to WDW or Port Canaveral right now. I think I would need a boat to get there! :boat:

Stay safe. Your area is one of my favorites and I can picture the places you are describing. I feel bad for the people, between floods and fires, everyone has been through too much. :grouphug: I hope better days are ahead.

Thanks, Judy. I am not worried about myself - as long as I stay home - LOL. But yes, this area - Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach (shark bite center of the U.S.!), Port Orange and north to Flagler Beach - bad news. Those who live on really low-lying land or by a river are not doing well right now.

This is SO rare for our area. We are used to hearing about other states with flooding, but here we never think about it unless there is a hurricane happening. We've had more water from this than from any hurricane since I've lived here. Unlike these storms, hurricanes don't move in and stay for a week!

I hope everyone else is doing well and not having weather problems. May is usually a wonderful time to be outdoors doing things! For those stuck inside, there is always cruise planning! :surfweb:

We are going to be in Daytona Beach September 12-22 this year, hurricanes permitting. Plan B is All-Star Movie for the same dates. We always make Plan B reservations and experienced Hurricane Jeanne at Movies a few years ago when Daytona Beach was evacuated.

Yep - Always good to have a Plan B! :thumbsup2

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day . . Have a good one!

Looks like I'll be cruising twice next year :cool1: Once is with Carnival but hey it is a cruise! Remember the canceled FF cruise to Mexico I mentioned a while back? Well they are re-booking for the Carib. next Feb. and DH wants to join his buddies. They are offering inside rooms for around $500 a couple. A few of the guys and wives were trying to get us to upgrade to a balcony and we said, "Nope, we're saving our balcony time for DCL!" I know we're being veranda snobs but when you've had the best veranda you just don't want any other. I'd rather go with the cheap room on this one and get to dive a few more spots. We won't have kid guilt since they will be with the grandparents.

So, anyone have any great dive locations for the So. Carib? We have already done the wall dive in Dominica and know we want to do that one again for sure. Any advice is welcome!

Have a great week all:thumbsup2

That's right! I think if I had the extra money I might take a Carnival cruise just to be cruising. I've come close, because I wanted to go to Belize and that was on one of their itineraries, but I still haven't sailed with them yet. Hopefully sometime . .

I'm happy that you are doing two cruises next year so you will still be with us! :thumbsup2

Tink: 2 cruises in one year...Awesome!! we did that a few years ago. We took the girls on a 4 day DCL and my inlaws took us all on a 7 day Princess. We liked the DCL so much more. but it was a great cruise.

we are on the move again this weekend. This week has been crazy!! and yesterday was lil Johns 6th bday. The kids and I are headed to Pgh to see my family, John sr is going to Japan on a business trip.
Next week there are only 3 days of school left. :)

hope everyone has a great weekend.
