12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

I might be with you, depends on what deals we can get onboard the magic when we go. I can tell you in person, I hope.

Forgot to mention - The last show of The Golden Mickeys (for now anyway) was the cruise BEFORE the one we just took, so my mother did not get to see it. They are currently doing a "transitional" show while they are prepping for the new Villains one. It is called "Once Upon A Song" and focuses on well known and not-so-well known Disney songs. Mixed reviews on this one. Almost non-existent sets (props), which was the main reason for ending The Golden Mickeys while transitioning. My mom was disappointed that she missed it. They plan to eventually bring it back to the Magic, but I doubt my mom will sail again. Oh, well . . .

We booked hotel, Country Inn & Suites, for the night before. We are hoping there is a MVMCP on Sat Dec 11 when we (boo-hoo) return to port. But I guess around September they will announce those dates. Waiting on Southwest as well.

GolfNPirate - I don't think they ever do MVMCP on a Saturday . . probably because they have to close the park early to those not attending the party, and they would not want to inconvenience those guests since Saturday is usually a night they are open later. I could be wrong, and of course with Disney everything is subject to change, but I have never known them to have it on Saturday.

I went back and looked at 2008 & 2009, and they didn't have MVMCP on SAturday nights. We are hoping to do MVMCP on 12/3rd - the Friday before the cruise. We are booked at the WL for that day. And we have bought our tickets in May the past two years.

I'm sorry we are trying DCL too late to see the Golden Mickey's. Hopefully the Villian one will be lots of fun.

The videos posted didn't seem too bad, but I was also hoping to show Mom the Golden Mickeys.

Just getting on the ship is good enough. Before we know it, it'll be November!

For anyone who can stand the view (I REALLY hate most photos of myself), HERE is a pic of me (on the left) with Captain Thord and my 87 year-old mom (on the right in the sensible shoes - lol) on our Magic cruise last week. I keep mentioning her age because that's a major contributing factor to why we did not get to do most of my shipboard addictions - deck parties, lots of character encounters, etc. We still had a great time, but at about one tenth my normal speed, so for me it was like cruising in slow motion. :rotfl2:

I don't know if Captain Thord will be our captain in December or not. He's a fine captain, but I sure do miss Tom Forberg.

Shari, great picture. Your mom is a beautiful lady (even with sensible shoes) and you look very nice too. I don't think we have met Captain Thord. Captain Tom is my favorite too.

I always enjoyed lounging on deck 4 while watching Captain Tom jogging. :goodvibes

Captain Thord isn't nearly as fit, but he did jog a bit. They are both excellent ship's masters, but Captain Thord seems to not smile much and his voice is so monotone. Perhaps it was only circumstances when I was around him. Everyone has their moods. He is nice enough . . just didn't make a great lasting impression on me the way Captain Tom did from my very first cruise.

I am not good at remembering the captain's rotation schedule. I am thinking maybe 4 months on, 2 off? I don't know who will replace him if we don't have Captain Thord in December.

its funny, I dont even know who our Captain was the last 2 cruises we did.. isnt that pathetic?? (or cruise directors for that matter.) and the best part is I am good with names and faces. :rotfl2:

I remember Captain John on the Wonder, because he tried so hard trying to get us into CC but wasn't able to. Fortunately he was able to the next day.

Clayton was cool as CD. I'll be interested to see how Brent is (if he's going to be our CD).

I don't think I've sailed with Jon . . maybe a "Captain John" long ago.

Clayton was our CD on the Magic. I think he said he'd be there in December. Not sure though. Pic HERE from formal night. He was a lot of fun. I LOVE his "vacation dance." :cool1:
