12/01/07 Western December 1, 2007 - Let's get the party started!

Hi Michelle2,

not sure if I met you on the May repo - there were so many faces and I am not very good with names (or faces) - my daughters might remember so I'll have to ask them. Tried looking for the navigator from that trip to help identify you, but my house is such a mess - daughter moved out this past weekend, so can't find anything.

I to will be taking my fish extender - handy to pop notes in to let my hubby know were I am (and vice versa). Its a shame nothing has been organised for this cruise - looking over the board seems the organiser changed cruises early on. It was always fun finding "goodies" each time you went back to the room (I'm still a child at heart).

We have never stayed in a room at the front of the ship before, so should be fun finding the room - Will be placing magnets on my door to try to help - but if ayone sees me looking lost please take pity.

No cruise docs here yet. I'm sure we'll be getting them soon. We went through AAA and they always like to take their time sending them to us.

I had the boys try on the tuxedos they wore on formal night in July. DS6's was about 2 inches too short. I don't know if he's grown that much or the dry cleaning shrunk it! I quickly ordered another on Ebay. They are cheaper than buying a sports coat in the local department stores. I have to start putting together the other stuff we'll be packing. We only have a full size rental car this time around so we can't take too much. The rental prices are crazy right now for an SUV. It must be because it's so close to Thanksgiving. We couldn't get a decent ding rate on Southwest either. We usually don't fly for more than $40 to $50 each way and couldn't get below $64 and $75.

It's great to see the Mickey sticker we put on November 28th on the boy's playroom calendar getting closer and closer.

I haven't received our docs either :(
I am sure sometime this coming week they should come! :cheer2:

Dang, it's getting so close now......

eagerly awaiting our cruise docs.... I expect them any day now. I think we should be getting them this week...maybe towards the end of the week.

:wave2: Hi All,
We've been away for the weekend, visiting our daughter and 5 grand children up in Lewiston, Maine.. 679 miles from here (we drove)..

Our docs must have arrived on thursday or friday as UPS in all their lazy wonder left them in front of our garage door, on the driveway, laying on the ground..I guess we'er very luck to have them at all.. but we got them....
have a great week,
gg

Hello all.....I find myself every day going on the DCL web site and checking our reservation to see if our stateroom may have changed....and we got an upgrade....but sadly....the stateroom is the same.....is it just me that does this or most everybody else.....come on now....be honest....19 days and counting.....

Tom:banana: :santa:

Someone has posted on the forum that DCL no longer give out the lanyards at the port - will have to remember now to pack someting to hold my KTW.

Trying to sort out date we are arriving in Orlando, accommodation and flights today. Hoping to get tickets to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party the night before the cruise.
We need to return to UK on the Saturday the boat docks, so will have a long wait at the airport that day.

Have also read the ship will be decorated - is there any special activities on board?

Tried to book Palos - as usual no luck. Wanted to try to get a brunch again. A group of us "ladies" had the private room last cruise, which was fun. Wanted to get hubby involved this time as I think he would enjoy it.

Anyone know what the weather will be like in both Orlando and on the cruise - should I pack trousers and jumpers?

:confused3 Hi,
We just sailed on 27 Sept thru 6 October 2007 and everyone in my group was given a lanyard. They do not give lanyards out to first time sailers but all castaway members get one..Where did you see that???

Don't forget to pm me your information...
have a nice night,
gg

Re. Lanyards - Its on the forum page, and someone who sailed 3 Nov told us.

Have pmd our details.

I'd save my money if I were you, and just use the Sea Calm pills they will provide you free of charge at the service desk! We had bought our own med's the first time we cruised, and our servers told us to try the Sea Calm. It has worked great, and we use it every time now! We even give 1/2 a pill to our 6 yo's if they started feeling quesy.

Good Tip! Thanks, we'll do just that.

As of lunch time today - No cruise docs. :(

I'm hoping they will be there by the time I get home from work.

I've been busy the last few days getting batteries charged,
Organizing the camera bag,
Trying to find places to put my waterproof case for the camera,
Getting my door magnets ready to print,
Sorting out all the paperwork I've printed for the last 2 years on excursions (maps, descriptions, etc..)
Getting me priate costume fitted for pirate night, Arrgghhh. (Actually got an adult Jack Sparrow costume at the Disney store near me for $29.99, and another $19 for the hat/wig. DW got Elizabeth's costume for $29.99 and the tiara/headpiece for $7.)
Now to start on the sortng of clothes...since it's getting cold here, I can take all the shorts and t-shirts out and folded up for packing.
Also I've got at start gathering all the accessories (bug spray, power strip, night light, alarm clock and get them together.

On top of all that.... I've got to plan and cook a Thanksgiving dinner for 12. Atleast my job is somewhat slow-paced and allows my the opportunity to do this at my desk and between service calls.

We are the Achter's (pronounced Actor). We are excited to be sailing on the Magic December 1st also. This will be our first Disney Cruise, our documents came today and we can't wait! We will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, and so we are sailing without the kids. (Yes, there have been sad faces around the house!) I have learned so very much on this forum, I appreciate everyones advice and input!

Just opened up my cruise documents a few minutes ago...sigh

Welcome! What a great way to celebrate your 25th anniversary!

Hi Mr. and Mrs. Achter! Welcome to our motley crew and Happy Anniversary to you.

No docs for us yet........:worried:
Let see if the travel agent will send them soon or if I'll have to call.

We used a TA too. Do they go to the TA first? Our Docs say that they come straight from Disney at Celebration.

We have all the Docs, passport, etc all in a folder.

Trying to decide on the weather possibilities and clothing choices. Its getting a little complicated...

We're from Michigan, so shorts & Tees in low 60 degree weather isn't really a stretch. :thumbsup2

I was expecting our docs to go to our TA first, but they came straight to us. I'm pretty sure the last time we cruised that they went to our TA first.
