When does your kid start using deodorant?

My nephew is 8 (9 in July) and he's using deodorant now.

Uh, my DD started at age 8. Pretty much your nose will tell you when it's time.

When they start to stink! You will be able to tell when they walk past you or when you sort laundry.

I asked DH this a while ago - right now I asked again and he said once they start growing underarm hair

DS will be 11 in July....not 'smelling' yet but they just had health classes last week where they passed out free deodorant samples, so he is happily using it now

My DS8 started during school this year. Others are right, your nose will tell you when it's time.

My 13yr old Ds has been using deodorant for some years, but also perspires quite a bit....so he needs it

the age of 10 just a couple of months ago. I cant believe it. and he is still in the whinning stage.

Ewww! Who's gonna check for that?? Not me! Like others said, your nose will know and, the undershirts will start having the perspiration stains - Yuck!

DS has been 'using' (wink-wink) since 6th or 7th grade but, not at 7 or 8yo! That seems early but, everyone's different, biologically. I probably started around 10-11.
