11yo w/ Limited Food Preferences

I don't think you can find Ribena easily in Anaheim but you do have a few possibilities. It looks as though you can order it on Amazon.com and have it delivered to your hotel. There are also a few British specialty shops that you can get it. I would google "Where to buy ribena in Anaheim, CA" and see what pops up.

Or just come up to British Columbia, they sell it at just about every grocery store here!
Thank you - we will actually be at WDW again but I've been looking at Amazon and I think it looks a better idea then ramming them in our suitcases - we could get water for us too! Would love to visit Canada one day

Oh! This thread is in the Disneyland section so I assumed you were planning a DL trip, oops!

For WDW, it seems as though you can get it delivered from Garden Grocer which might be easier than Amazon, depending on what else you want to order.

I have a daughter on the spectrum and the mac and cheese is Stouffers. Once she tried it, she was fine. If he will eat that, he should be fine. Plaza Inn and Pizza Port both do plain noodles.

If there is something on the kids meals, you can get those for him. My daughter is 26, and frequently does the kids meal, they double the portion and double the price. Works out great for us.

Thank you! You just answered my two food questions. My kids dislike Kraft-style mac and cheese and vastly prefer Stouffers. I was also hoping to get plain noodles at the Plaza Inn for them to share with plate of fried chicken. I'm loving how helpful everyone is on this thread. :)

Hi OP- I also have a super picky eater. He has outgrown a lot of it now that he is a teenager, but he still loves his noodles with butter! We have always had good luck at Disney, they really know how to cater to food issues. My son's repertoire was even more limited than yours (by about half) and we always felt a sense of ease at Disney knowing he would be fed.

Don't get too technical with the orders. For example at a sit down restaurant, we would order spaghetti with whatever sauce and toppings on the side. We would then ask for a few pats of butter and mix it into the pasta ourselves. Makes it easier on the waitstaff to just say "on the side" for everything. I can't tell you how many times I have had meatballs and sauce or chicken slices and alfredo for my meal because DS was having a big plate of noodles with butter. I ate the "on the side" bowl. Lol. It worked out fine for all of us!

I used Amazon Pantry on my last trip and had things shipped to the hotel. It was held at the front desk for me. I had all sorts of snacks and a case of water as well. Things I didn't have space in my luggage for.

Did you order ahead of time and pick your arrival day for delivery? I was hoping the hotel would do this for us, though we're not staying at one of the disney hotels. Perhaps I will call them to verify! I was planning on packing a couple cases of clif bars in our luggage that would get eaten and replaced with souvenirs, but it would be nice to have other stuff like the apples and mandarins and stuff you can get with amazon fresh.

You shouldn't have a problem shipping things ahead, even if you don't use Amazon Pantry (Or stay at a Disney Hotel). When I was going to conventions, I would routinely send things via Priority Mail that would be a hassle to pack in luggage. I would address the box as follows:

Name (Arrival Date/Reservation #)
Hotel Address

I would invest in tracking if you do this, so you can track it. I would probably send this the week before leaving so I would be sure it gets there in time (That's why I always add the reservation # and arrival date.) I would also call the hotel to add a note to my reservation.

I wasn't able to pick the day, Amazon Pantry items took a bit longer to process then two day, however, just notate on the address to hold for arrival on your check-in day. Nothing I ordered was perishable, bottled water, soda, snacks, some baby wipes, etc.

Here is the link for more information and how it "works." https://www.amazon.com/gp/pantry/info

For example, at the top of the page I linked above, it tells me if I order today (Wednesday) I should have my order Saturday.

If you do decide to go the sandwich route, make sure you make them ahead of time. You can bring food into DL but only in it's final edible form. For example, you can bring 5 PB&J sandwiches no problem but you can't bring a loaf of bread, a jar of PB and a bottle of jelly.

We have similar problems for my gorgeous grandson (on the spectrum) at home no problem and generally in the UK but one of his limited food choices is sausages - but they don't often appear. He too will eat plain cheese pizza. Baked potato and cheese accepted too. Vegetables are not on his menu apart from corn on the cob. Drink is a tough issue for is in the US as he only drinks Ribena (I don't think we've ever seen it in US) and milk. When ever we travel abroad each suitcase has triple wrapped cartons of Ribena! We have to accept that for the duration of Disney he eats a lot of snacks, pizza and fries! He is 7 so as yet portion size not a problem.

What's Ribena?

There's a place called The British Grocer in Fullerton that probably carries Ribena and sausages. There's a restaurant called The Olde Ship in Fullerton that would have them too.

ETA: Sorry, it's The Olde Ship. I got it confused with Ye Olde King's Head in Santa Monica, which is a pub and a separate store. I know they have Ribena in the refrigerated case there.
