We just got DS's SAT score in the mail and that was it. It's much better than we expected and much better than his grades show. I'm very proud of him and happy for him. Actually, I think that's better than both Gene and I got back in the stone age when we went to high school.

You'd never know it from his report cards, Sis. We've tried for the past 6 years to get him to work harder to get better grades, but he just doesn't seem to care. I'm hoping that now he'll start thinking about college and working a little harder. We always knew he was smart, but we just haven't been able to figure out how to get him to apply himself. We're hoping that the SAT score will encourage colleges to consider him in spite of his past grades.

Always proud of him, Kath, but also worried for him. He seems to have no ambition. I think he would spend the rest of his life playing video games if we would let him. He just turned 17 and doesn't even want to learn how to drive.
