Anyone have tips on which "castle" to dine at for an 11-year-old girl's birthday dinner? Which one would make a middle-child birthday girl feel special? :) I'd also love advice on cake or add-ons for birthdays. Ex. Can we order balloons or flowers or something? Did I hear there is a glass slipper option at CRT? Where do I even find these options??

I think maybe Cinderella’s Royal Table! Right now with covid, I believe they only have Cinderella and she is socially distanced. Be Our Guest has the Beast socially distanced. Unless she really likes Beauty and the Beast, I think CRT is the better option for an 11 year olds birthday!

I don’t know much about add ons, but I do know if you tell the server you are celebrating something they *usually* give you a celebration dessert. I want to say it’s a cupcake, and this happened to us during the trip we got engaged as we wore our celebrating pins.

I know there is a way to order like a bigger cake, but I don’t know specifics, but I’m sure someone else can speak on that!

Which movie does she like better? BOG really gives you the feeling that you are inside the movie and has more magical elements than CRT. Does she have a preference?

CRT. But, if she is not into princesses and wants something different maybe Ragland Road? They still sing at Rainforest Cafe.

You could also have dinner @ Riviera. I think you can order a specialty cake and Le Petit Cafe is great. If Belle is her favorite character, you can do all things "French".

If she likes bowling the food at the Bowling in Disney Springs is not bad at all.

If the tea at the Grand Floridian is open when you go, it is fun.

You could resort hop and let her pick a treat or gift at each resort.

You could start a Pandora bracelet for her.

Happy early Birthday to your daughter :)

Thanks for the great ideas!! She wants to be in the Magic Kingdom for her birthday and does like princesses so we’ll think of the other fun ideas for the next day, when we aren’t in the parks. So many fun ideas!!!

She identifies most with Belle, because she is a reader, but she also loves Cinderella and she looks more like Cinderella. :) I was leaning CRT, just because it’s THE CASTLE, but I’m not sure. I was thinking the glass slipper or some special birthday treat that is available would put one over the top for us. It might come down to which one we can get a reservation for!

If you open the Disney Restaurants forum, there is a Sticky at the top called Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part V!. That thread has information on the specialty and custom cakes you can order at Disney, which restaurants offer them and where you can order them from. There are also lots of pictures of cakes people have ordered for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. If you'd like to get her a cake, that's the place to research. Also, @lurkyloo has all knowledge on cakes (slight exaggeration ;) ), and can answer any questions you might have, or at least point you in the right direction!

For me - not even a close call. A castle birthday would be perfect. However, much is personal opinion. I do not have the "rave" feelings about BoG that some do. Have alwasy loved the Royal Table.

The sticky thread above is the best source for cake ordering. It is created and maintained by @lurkyloo and is amazing!

Keep in mind you are responsible for taking the cake/slipper w you, they will not hold it for you. Factor that into your day‘s plans. As to which restaurant, I’m a sucker for CRT. It’s just perfect and an experience.

please do come back and let us know which you chose and food porn is always appreciated 💕

We will be celebrating Sweet 16 birthdays of my youngest DD and her BFF at CRT next week! They wanted to be in the MK for their celebration day, and felt this was the most special of the dining options in the park. They are very excited to eat in the castle, and also liked the menu better than BoG (personal preference, of course).

Do you already have reservations?
If not, good luck they are gone even before the 60 days out (not sure how people get to do that)

We do have reservations (not sure whether you were asking me, but posting just in case :goodvibes). We had only one choice on the day I was looking for, which is at 3:05pm! Not ideal for "dinner" but then again it might be a good time to get out of crowds. Anyway I took it because it was the only available option that day and I was scared to give it up and look for something else. You have to pre-pay for this one, so once I'd done that I didn't bother with the hassle of checking other days (or other times, which I gather once they increase the park hours often more ADRs become available). We're happy with it and will adjust our eating plans accordingly that day. :thumbsup2

It really depends on your 11-year-old. If she's a huge Beauty and the Beast fan, I would go with the BOG. Otherwise, I would go with Cinderella's Castle.

CRT is my 13-year old’s preference! We did the chocolate slipper once and it was a fun addition. Hope your daughter has a magical birthday!!

People on property can book 60+10 - so they shoot for a reservation later in their stay.

Is it 10 days even if your reservation is fewer days? I'm wondering about split stays. Do I need to wait for the booking window for the 2nd resort?

Sorry, 10 days OR the length of each reservation. So your clock starts over for the second part of your stay.

My oldest daughter is a big Belle fan too. Her next birthday is during our next WDW trip. I'm hoping to do BOG for lunch and CRT for dinner. (Or perhaps vice versa since the Beast is only present at dinner although I love the smaller, quieter atmosphere of CRT for dinner so still undecided.)

We really like to do table service lunches to sit down and relax after rope drop touring. Not sure if table service lunches work with your touring style, but if it does, you might consider doing both. 😃
