?? - 11 year old and child's menu/buffet

I have a DD who is 11 and looks much older. Do they ever ask for proof of age for children? She will probably eat off the adult menu most of the time, but for buffets, will I have a problem with being charged the child's price?

We just returned with a tall 11 year old DS. They always asked how old he was but never questioned it. I was also concerned the year that he was 9 as he still was a "child" for his ticket. WE have always carried a copy of his birth certificat with us just to make me feel better about being questioned but have NEVER been questioned at WDW. We were rudly questioned once at O'charlies when DS was 10 and the free menu was 10 and under. We showed the lady his insurace card and she just huffed at us. Guess how much tip she got . Carry a copy if it makes you feel better but don't sweat it at all.

On our last year's trip, we brought my nephew who was 11 and 6'1". We were never questioned by anyone -- and we did eat at quite a few buffet restaurants. My DS was also 11, but hardly 5'.

I had the same thoughts when we brought our dd before she turned 12. Our boys were young enough I knew there would be no problem but she has always looked older than she is. We never had a problem at WDW but I was a little paranoid about it so bringing a copy of your child's birth certificate will give you piece of mind if it concerns you. As far as the cutoff age for children and adult prices at the buffets I believe kid's prices are for 11 and under. So under 12 and you're ok.
