I am just wondering did you get a custom frame or do something different for the VWL artwork that came with the paper work?

I went to two stores and found 10" x 13" and 11" x 14" frames but no 11" x 13" frames!! For now I bought a 11" x 14" and put the arwork in there with a half inch on each side. I may give in and get a 10" x 13" and shave off some of the matting on the artwork's top and bottom.

What did other people do?

Just wondering while passing the time,

Mike

What art work??

Is this the picture that hangs on the bedroom wall?

I saw one on ebay and should have bought it but didn't.
Maybe this is a new give away at WVL. Didn't get one when we got papers.

Have it custom framed. Should cost around $40 roughly for a nice but basic frame with regular glass, maybe a little more it you mat it or use non glare.

Hmmm, no art work here either. Maybe because mine was an add-on instead of a full purchase??? :( Darn, I wish I had known.

here is a link to a quick photo of the artwork I am talking about.
view here

This is in the litte over sized frame I bought. It came matted as you see in the picture. below the drawing it says "Limited Edition" on the left; "The villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge" in the middle; and "Disney Vacation Club" on the right.

The bottom cut out surronds a Raised DVC logo with member under it.

Sorry about the flash in the picture but I was trying to get it up quickly so people could see it. oh yeah click the thumbnail of the phot on the left and it will come up in the viewer and you can zoom and move the picture.

We had ours custom framed with special glass to reduce light fading. It cost almost $100.

My mom was inspecting it a few days ago and said, "Why didn't you guys just cut down the mat so you could buy a 'stock' frame?" DUH!!!!! Why didn't I think of that?? I have now bought a book on framing and just successfully framed a set of AK pins. :)

To answer the question about how you get the print......We received ours at the time we signed our VWL contract in late November 2001. Our CM gave us the print, a backpack, two DVC ink pens, and a Mickey "hand" luggage tag. I don't know if that is the "standard" deal......but I know my DH husband made a point of asking for "freebies" (much to my embarassment).

If you recently purchased or did an add-on at VWL you might want to contact your guide about the print as I don't know the stipulations.

Bought a 275 point add on in March 2001. NO artwork here either. We did our add on right after our tour. And signed the paperwork on the spot.

ENVIOUS !!>>>>>>> ;)

Also envious here....

New membership bought in at VWL last August.

No picture, no pens, and instead of a backpack a tote bag.

Oh yeah, also no regrets!

We got that art work when we did a spontaneous add on in December. We also got two very nice DVC pens and the plain tote bag (not the one with blue handles)

We stuck ours in an 11X14 frame we had for something else (something very gaudy that we were happy to have an excuse to throw out!) ;) There is a small area at both edges where you can tell it doesn't quite fit, but you have to be right up on it to notice.

Nice print. It goes along with our VWL themed master bedroom! :)

Hey, I only got one DVC pen (and I believe I have misplaced it already). But did get the artwork (which I will need to run over to Aaron Brothers-Frame Store), backpack, luggage tag, and of course the New members handbook.:D

yeah we got only one pen and there were two of us on the paperwork!

But in addition to the print we got the backpack with SOO many zippers to get to every inch, and SOO many pockets inside it!! it is a way cool backpack, and we got the luggage tag (it was clipped to the backpack) and the ONE pen, and all the paperwork and guidebook. I have the pen clipped on the inside of the paperwork box so it will be with my guidebook for planning at all times.

When we did a VWL add on while on the Disney Magic in Sept/Oct., we were mailed the artwork with two pens.

We just added on to that add on, so I'm curious to see what, if anything, I get this time around.

I purchased VWL in October 01 and we got the print, pens, backpack, luggage tag and a little DVC football for my year old. Maybe it was something they started doing last fall....

When we joined in Nov at VWL I got the backpack, 2 pens, mickey tag and the VWL picture. Because our son was in the kids room they gave him a choice of a small toy to take with him when he left. My picture is hanging on the wall right behind me in the same kind of frame you just showed us. It has a small gap on either side. I have ours in a light brown frame too. Someone commented to me it doesnt really look like the Wilderness Lodge.

My picture looks like the villas. A shot from near the pool. But the pool is missing

??????

ohiominnie

We did an add-on at VB and got the artwork picture of VB and a pen. Then my brother was down at OKW 2 weeks ago and bought us the artwork of OKW. Went to our local Frame Store (Michaels) and had them both matted and framed in dark cherry wood and they look beautiful on our wall. Everybody that comes over comments on them.We had 50% off coupons at the frame store and the total for both was around $90.:D

All I can say is.....envy, but please, please, forgive me. We got only a hand shake, and the boys got some candy. Oh ! I forgot....40 for years of memories !

We got the print, and we got 2 9/11 stars & stripes mickey pins, but we didn't get pens or backback.

But, you know what? That's OK - we get to go back home in 142 days, and that's really all that matters!
