Hi all, fairly newb to the boards so please excuse our question. DW and I just purchased a resale at VWL (still waiting for paperwork, passed ROFR). Our question is whether or not, and how acceptable of a practice is it, to book at your home resort at the 11 month window just to be safe and then make a switch at 7 months out. I've seen some references to it but we're not sure how okay it is to do such a thing. Thanks in advance for your help, the boards have been a great help in our journey to the DVC.

It's fine to book your home resort at 11 months and try to switch ressies at 7 months out to another resort. Many of us do that, and it's always good to know that you have a place to stay if you have to be waitlisted for another spot.

Welcome Home, VWL neighbor!!!

Thanks a bunch! I knew I could count on the folks here. I'm assuming it's all done through MS and they're all well versed in the procedure?

Thanks Again

Yes, MS will help you through. Most who do this like to book the entire stay at the 7 month check out time so they don't have to worry about getting partial reservations.

It's not only "okay", but highly recommended! That way, you are guaranteed to have a place to stay on the dates you are going.

And if you have to stay at your home resort of VWL in case you aren't able to book elsewhere at the 7 month mark....well, that wouldn't be all that bad, would it! :)

Have you ever stayed at VWL? If not, stay there one time, then you wont be switching resorts anyway ;)

Did somebody turn up the heat? ::yes:: :scared1: :firefight

Just kiddin everybody
