Liam took his 11 Plus last year and is now in his second week at Grammar! He took the decision that he didn't want a tutor (the only person in his class not to!) and wanted to get in on his own merit. To be honest we were not prepared to get a tutor anyway.
He did a few test papers and we kept it quite relaxed. On the day he went to the toilet halfway through one test and didn't finish another! But he did still get in. We were lucky that he liked the look of his catchment school so we "bigged" this up just incase he didn't pass.
The best advice we got was from the headmaster. He told us that we should be celebrating when the boys finished the test and showing them how proud we were that they sat it, rather than celebrating/commiserating when the results were out. Only trouble with that, is that everyone decided to go to Frankie and Bennys at the same time and it took ages to get a table
