11 month window

Anyone have problems booking their home resort during there "exclusive" 11 month booking window? This could be any time between the 11 and 7 month window.

I am most specifically interested in knowing regarding the late November through mid-December (not including holidays) ...

You might have a problem with early December. It is a very popular time for DVC members. Low points, low park crowds, annual meetings and holiday decorations.

I usually book at 11 months and I have never had a big problem. Only once for New Year's eve was I not able to get a standard 2BR at the BWV for New Year's Eve. But I did get a room. Chances are for the period you are talking about, you will find something at your home resort.

I called once at 10 months 3 weeks (Gasp! I'd forgotten the day of 11 month window), and although one of our home resorts is VWL, it was already booked up. Fortunately our other, BCV, was still available, as was OKW. BWV was already booked too. This was for early December. BTW, when I called back at 7 months, there were openings at BWV. MS said there's some "musical resorts" ("let's all move around") that happens and changes availability right at 7 months.

I had to waitlist for a preferred studio at BWV before the 7 month window opened for December 4 - 11, 2004 (last year) however it didn't take long to come through.
