Thinking of buying a resale. Is it possible to be blocked out of a home resort (want BLT) when the 11 month window begins?

You will not be shut out booking BLT at the 11 month window. There are 3 different views available: standard, lake view, and Magic Kingdom view. There is a chance the standard view rooms will fill up the first day of the 11 month window but you will definitely have your pick with the other 2 views.

Yes, I too have read reports that BLT home owners have not been able to book standard rooms during the 11 month window during the busy holiday months. I'm a BLT owner and have booked standard rooms at the 11 month window with no problem, however, they were in August (2011 - 1 bdrm) and October/November (2010 - 2 bdrm)

Is it technically possible? Yes. Since people can reserve up to seven days when they call, the rooms could be booked before the day you call, right at 11 months. Is it likely? No. This really only happens to rooms in very short supply, like concierge at AKV. I don't want you to be disappointed in the unlikely case that one choice isn't there (like there are only about half a dozen standard view dedicated 2BRs at BLT), but if you are flexible with view, you should never have trouble at 11 months at BLT.
