11- month day-by-day question

I'm a new member and have a question about making day-by-day reservations at 11 months. My planned dates are May 27-June 3, 2009. Would I call on June 28, 2008, and request one night? If that's correct, what happens next?

Well, you'll call on May 28, 2008 - not 2007!!! - but otherwise, yes, that's what you'll do. When you make that reservation, tell the MS person you are booking day by day and she will make a note of it so your reservations can be linked together.

Edited to add: Oops!!! Just saw that you have an error - May 28, 2008 would be 12 months ahead of your booking, and you can only book 11 months out. So actually you would call June 28, 2008 for a May 27, 2009 reservation.

I must be tired--leaving for the World Saturday, planning a June SeaWorld trip with grandkids, and working on another solo trip for me in September. I don't even know why I'm torturing myself this far in advance--I just dont want to mess anything up! Yes, I know it's really 2008 now, and that 11 months out will be JUNE 28 I had that written down. I know the 180 days for ADRs isn't the same as six months--I just wanted to be absolutely sure that 11 months in this case is really 11 months, and that I don't need a calculator for it. Thanks for your help

You're welcome!! I always call Member Services and have them tell me because I usually have so much trouble trying to figure it out on my own!!!! I think Caskbill has a nice DVC points tracker you can download that will help you with this, too.

Arriving May 27, call June 28 and tell them when you are checking out. They will hold off sending your confirmation until you are finished with your day by day ressie. It is not separate linked reservations. It is one complete reservation.

Just note that day by day is sometimes needed and usually needed for Grand Villas. For the time you want arround Memorial Day and for rooms other than Grand Villas, it is not really needed and if you call 11 months before expected check-out date, in your case June 3 , 2008, you will be fine.

I don't think calling day to day at 11 months out is necessary unless you really need a GV or something special.

I booked a dedicated 2 bedroom during a similar time this year (May 31- June7 2008) at about 10 1/2 months out.
