We are booked for next year with my 11 year old DD on the adult version of the meal plan and my 9 year old DS on the child version.

Here's my question, could we go to a sit down restaurant and they switch - the 11 year old orders the child menu and the 9 year old orders from the regular menu? My 11 year old is NOT much of an eater where as my 9 year old DS is. The 11 year old would likely be happier with the kids menu selections too.

Thanks!

the dining credits are attached to the room not to an individual in the room so yes you could use the child credits for the 11 year old and the adult credits for the 9 year old.

in fact when my niece was still on the child plan there were several restaurants where she preferred to eat what was on the adult menu and my sister or i preferred something that was on the child menu so we'd switch off who actually used the child's credit.

Just order the meals they want, and then have the 11 year old eat the child's meal and the 9 year old eat the adult meal. As long as the correct type of credits are used, they don't care who ultimately eats the meals.

We did the same thing in '11 when my picky then-10 year old ate most if not all of her then-8 year old's kids meals, and the 8 year old (who is also picky but will at least eat grilled chicken!) ate the adult meals. They are both Disney adults now, at 11 and 13, and have to suck it up now. Thankfully, they are slightly more adventurous! But I do have to pour over menus online to make our ADRs. Hubby is picky too! :(

Just did the same thing with my 6 year old son and 10 year old daughter. Had no problems at all except occasionally when my son ordered something from the main menu the waiter would start to say something then we would explain what we were doing and they had no problem with it. As has been said, as long as you are ordering the proper number of kids meals vs. adult meals they don't care.

We have done this several times. but it was my 18 year old vs my 7 year old.

Oh the silly giggling they did after receiving their plates and then switching them. ;)

Wait staff didn't care. As long as your using the proper amt of credits.

Heck we have even ordered and payed oop for one or two of 7 years dinners, because she isn't a chicken nugget, hamburger, mac cheese, pizza kinda girl half the time.

Personally I wouldn't be able to sit across from her enjoying steak if she was only offered crappy kid food and wanted steak.
