I have heard some mention that DVC can change the booking windows from the current 11/7. The question I am posing is can they impose different windows for different resorts AND differences depending on home resort. For example, could they make the booking window at all DVC I resorts 11/10 for owners of DVC II resorts, but leave it at 11/7 for owners of DVC I resorts?

Hopefully that makes some sense....

I don't think they could do this as long as any resort was in the club. They could change the window in general to 11/10 as it was when DVC started. They actually changed it to 11/7 before any other resorts were in the club. IMO, there is little difference in 11/10 & 11/7. I would be VERY surprised to see this change. And it wouldn't really help OR hurt many people. The only disadvantage would be for those that can't plan more than 10 months out but can plan more than 7. The advantage would be that if one wanted to book a non home resort, they could plan air, family, etc; a few months ahead. Those planning ahead would still book at 11 months out and those waiting for the non home window to open would all be in the same boat as now and competing with essentially the same people.

Since there is no such thing as DVC I or DVC II, there is no mechanism for DVC to create a two tiered reservation system. All seven current DVC resorts are part of the same organization- Disney Vacation Club.

Unless DVC somehow changes the organization for future resorts, all resorts will be treated equally with any rules.

As Dean stated, the reservation priority could be changed to as little as 11 month/10 month- but there is probably little reason to do so at this time. In addition, the priority could be changed to something less than 7 months, but I don't see that happening either unless there are some drastic changes in the usage patterns in the future.

I was thinking there was wording somewhere that made the minimum window 11/7 but reviewing the POS, I must have been wrong. I will correct myself in that reading the info suggests the home resort window COULD be different for different resorts though that is extremely unlikely to ever happen.

I questioned whether it might be possible to establish different rules for different resorts. Even if it is legally possible, I think it would be a logistical nightmare for DVC and would create an uproar among the membership. I think if there ever is a change, it will be a change for all.
