11-7-10 Wonder cruise meet

Most of the models project Tomas as a strengthening Cat 1 to Cat 3 coming into Haiti on Thursday night to Friday morning. That puts it far enough west that the cruise should be fine. Unfortunately it will bring more misery to Haiti.:grouphug:

Yeah you'd think for once Haiti would catch a break instead of heartache.

We have been packing today...I'm 95% completed! Whoohooo!
Just have last minute things that I have to wait until Friday or Saturday morning to throw in the bags.

Country Inn and Suites lowered their price from what we originally booked at to $116 plus tax on like Thursday. I just checked today and its up to $159 plus tax now!!! I'm so glad we got that discount when we did!

We are soooooo ready to go!

Only 5 things left to pack and they all have to be packed Saturday morning!!!! So i'm 99% packed!

Was organizing our desk and found the 2010 DCL planning video that I thought I lost...so watched it twice so far today!

We watched ours today too!!!!!

Tonight is my last night to work and then I have to stay over for a meeting but after that I am off. The kids dont have school tomorrow (election day) so we have declared it official get finished packing day!

We will be leaving afterschool on Thursday for Florida and seeing my sisters new place in Geneva, FL! Cant wait! Saturday we are going to Magic Kingdom and of course Sunday we will be cruisin!!!!!:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

I just thought of a question.. What time zone will we be in on the cruise? I got some watches for the kids and wanted to set them, so they could keep track of the time on the ship but not sure what time zone we will be in.

Good idea about official packing day. No school here today either so sounds like a good plan. Question for anyone who can answer. Usually we go right to the port and the cruise line handles all of our luggage. We are staying at SSR Saturday night do we take our luggage directly to our cabin when we board or how does that work? Thanks everyone:dance3::dance3::dance3: 5 more days!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

If you are driving yourself to the port what we did last year was we went and dropped the bags off with the luggage handlers, and I went in and started the check in process. My mother then went and parked the car as she was driving. She then met me in the terminal.

We are taking the shuttle from CI&S so when they drop us off we will check our bags in with Luggage Services and then head on in to the terminal. The bags either way will be dropped off by our stateroom before 5 or 6pm.

If you are taking the Disney transportation I believe you just bring it down to the bell services and it gets taken from there by DCL but I haven't taken the DCL transfers before so I am not 100% sure how that works.

May want to search the Cruise Main Forum and see if that has been asked before and what to expect.

Your welcome!!!!

I'm sitting here not doing my homework because I am too wrapped up into watching the DVD for DCL AGAIN!!! AHHH!

Only thing is I kinda wish it were further away as once it gets here it is going to be over far tooo fast!

Thanks for letting me know the time zone!

Packing is underway and I have another question, do they have irons in the room or should we pack one?

I don't remember seeing one but let me check not in the rooms themselves but they do have them for use in the Laundry rooms (no charge) and they also have ironing boards in the laundry rooms as well.

Laundry rooms are located on Decks 2, 6, and 7. Across from rooms: 2096, 6588, and 7590.

From what I have read and been told irons and steamers are prohibited for safety reasons in the staterooms. So they have the Irons in the Laundry room for you to use.

Also you can have your items dry cleaned, and pressed through Disney but they charge for that Valet Service.

Oooh, a question I know the answer to!

You cannot bring an iron on board, and they do not provide them in the cabins (all for safety reasons). There is an iron in the laundry room. Or I think you can have things sent out to be pressed.

Yep that is correct!!

Well, I got some not so great news this weekend... This cruise was for my husband's return from deployment and due to unforseen circumstances they are now delayed several days (they were supposed to get home tomorrow and even the commander told us it was ok to book this cruise)... So we were a little let down because we thought we'd have to cancel completely... A member of our party talked to a super nice DCL manager about the situation and he was kind enough to switch us to the week after since it was a military thing and I had documentation. (Although, I'm sure that's not the norm) I'm sad we won't be cruising with you all, but I hope you have an amazing time! :goodvibes
