Hey New York Area Nanaheads
My oldest DD (Elizabeth) is turning 10 in a couple of weeks. All she wants for her birthday is to go to the Big Apple for a weekend. It all started because she wanted to go to American Girl Place - but of course is now not interested in that anymore, though we will probably go there - just not do any of the formal stuff like the tea party and such.

We are hoping to make the trip happen in mid-October. We plan to get tix in advance for a show (Wicked or Lion King - her 2 requests) and then try for TIX booth for another. We plan to go out to the Statue of Liberty. We plan to play in Central Park (we are staying at the Jumeirah- the former Westin - Essex House on Central Park South). She wants to see the big Toys R Us store in Time square and we'll go into the Plaza since she used to read all the Eloise books. she wants a frozen hot chocolate from Serendipity (my fault as I raved about it from a previous trip). What else should we plan?

Check out www.broadwaybox.com for discounted broadway tickets. I don't think you will find Wicked or Lion King tickets unless you either get them from a broker or from Tkts booth.
Carmine's is a great place for dinner :) My family's favorite.
My DD loves to shop, so bring $$$ if she likes to shop.

Very nicely pedicured feet there, mutt! Did you have them done on the ship? DH needs definite help in that department. :scared1:

As a fellow dog lover, you'll understand if I say "BITE ME!" I don't do pedicures! You may feel free to ask anyone of the vet 06 or 07'ers. I have feet like a hobbit and am quite content to keep them like that. C'mon fellow members of the heman woman haters society.... back me up here! Pedicure indeed!!!
:snooty:

I jave those darn live forever plants and they make flowers this time of year and are loaded with bees...well my male dog got stung and then went after them and now we have to walk him until the bees go away

You mind your place Okie or I wont worship you from afar any more....

Shell/Bill--Are you getting alot of strong wind? I just talked to our friends in Mason, OH and they are getting 70 plus mph winds. I guess there are shingles all over the place! And they have no power.

Okay, I know we are the new guys in town, but I neeeeed to hear back from you guys! I am really looking forward to meeting you all so that we can write and post back and forth like you all do.

We are watching Tampa Bay and Atlanta play today. I grew up in Tampa, so I have to root for them. I'm guessing that some of you New Yorkers like football, and maybe the folks from Pittsburgh and New Orleans. How about the Michigan folks? Ohio? Georgia? Illinois? Indiana? So, tell me who do you like? College counts too.

We saw the Wonder as we drove over the bridge to church today. It always makes us smile to see it, and we look at each other and say, "Disney Boat!!!" in a very child-like voice.

:cheer2:

Mr. Cruisemutt, or Bill,

My DH, Steve, is very proud of his elephant hide feet too, but I have always wanted to get him a pedicure. We have an extended family member, tough, straight whiskey drinking man who received a pedicure as a gift from his wife for Christmas. He thought he would hate it, but he loved it so much he goes every three or four months and gets one now. Steve still says no way is he getting one.

Looks like we're doing pic of the day.

Here's me giving my valedictorian address at the class of '85 Forest Ranger gradulations!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It was casual Friday and my theme was: "Sometimes your the windshield and sometimes your the bug!" :rotfl: :rotfl:

I didn't ever think I'd have a massage, but after my wife got me one for our anniversary many years ago.....I'm hooked.

Pedi???? I'm not sure I'd go for that?? But hey....to each his own huh?! :confused3

Lisarae ... being from Ohio, it is a requirement to love all sports but expect nothing from them: no national championships, no World Series, no Superbowl, no nuttin. When you're born and raised in Ohio, your first words are not "mama" or "dada", they're "Wait'll next year".

That said ... GO BROWNS! GO BUCKS! GO ZIPS!

Hmmmm ... maybe during the Ladies Meet on Monday the guys could get together and have a Guys Spa Day complete with pedis :rotfl2: . Yeah, I'm envisioning Mikey, Billy, Mutt, Greg, Jeff, Trey, Steve, BobbyNY, Bob, etc. all sitting next to each other in white robes and chatting about the stuff in People magazine :rotfl2:

ALSO, Lisarae ... that is why I play Fantasy Football ... just so I know what it feels like to win a game or 2 :rolleyes1

Shell, I totally understand the wait until next year thing. Growing up with the Bucs, we were at every game, usually watching them lose. I started picking another "favorite" team to root for just so that I'd have a team that might win sometimes.

My boss at work went to Ohio State, so I root for them on her behalf. She gets M&M's for us at the office that are made in Ohio State colors.

Also, I'm trying to talk Steve into the couples massage at CC, but he doesn't even want to do that, so I'm sure a pedicure is out of the question!

C'mon all you other folks, write something.

jollg, who's your favorite sport team?

Hello everyone. I saw the MAgic yesterday. She looked so great. I will post a bunch of pic but I need to go back and figure it out again so give me a little. The blurry one is the MAgic at night. We were driving back to my Nieces house to sleep and there she was. Rick would not stop on the very busy highway so I could get a picture. I will be very angery for a long time.
