We actually went to Grand Cayman several years ago when Elizabeth was probably 3 years old and stayed a week at the Westin. We really loved the island. Friendly people, good food, good shopping, gorgeous beaches, no crime that we could find, no real poverty like other islands. We did the submarine ride here and it was amazing because of the water's clarity. We have done it in other places but this is the only place we've ever really been amazed by what we saw. Snorkeling is great here - even right off the beach too.

On our Western Cruise we actually rented a day room at the Westin (which is where we had stayed for the week) but this time we are just going to head to the beach for the day - probably in front of the westin so we can eat at their restaurant and drink at their bar.

Nice job going right for it Denise. I'll go along those lines too ..

HEY INSPECTOR! WHAT'S YOU REAL NAME DAGNABBIT?

Hi Lisa - Here's what I know:

1) Finally got paid up and tried to make reservations for Palo's Brunch; nothing available. Do they usually have reservations that they leave open for passengers who come to make reservations when they get on the ship?
Definitely - we have always gotten whatever we wanted at Palo and have had to wait til on the ship twice for various reasons. Got both brunch and dinner that way.

2) I only got one response to my question about Spa treaments. If you wait to get on the ship, don't they usually have discounts as the cruise goes on? Also, if you do make a reservation, and they have the service dicounted, do they refund you the difference? (I know, probably stupid question.)

They say they run specials when in port, but it's not always on every treatment. I did a hot stone massage in port during our mexican cruise last month but it was same price as any other time. I think it's really a matter of what they aren't selling, they put "on sale." And they are usually special packages they put together so that you don't run into a situation where your price goes down. So just keep your eyes open for specials they have when in port and if it's something you want to do, just add it on!

3) For you folks looking for a limosine company, my co-worker's husband drives a limo. I could have him check on what kind of service they could provide. What are you looking for exactly?

Thanks,
Lisa

1) Yes, they always have reservations available when you board the ship but you need to try to get there early to get one of the first few boarding numbers. I know the line gets pretty long so if you're not there ASAP you might not get what you want.

2) Try looking at some old navigators, you will get a feel for what is discounted. It's usually not one service but a combo of services. I am not a big fan of the spa so I have never taken advantage of the discounts but they are usually offered on port days or really early or late appointments.

Mostly I can't stand watching another minute of TV but I'm also not feeling quite well enough to get any work done, so this is a nice in between kind of thing. :goodvibes

'preciate it Jeff.... I knew I heard that. Now I need to find a harbor filled with tequila and a salt rim beach. Got anything like that? :rotfl:

Well, I don't know about salt rim beaches but I could serve you tequila in a salt rim glass and it just so happens..........I'm currently in posession of The Magic. This of course makes me the port of choice at the moment.

If only someone had accepted my invitation of hospitality:rolleyes1

I'm just sayin'

Hey, did you see there is a new season of the Real Housewives starting in Oct? They are from Atlanta this time. They are really really annoying already and they have only done just a sneak peak.

I did! I am looking forward to it already. I'm ticked off that Bravo keeps showing the same episodes of Project Runway every day when I'm just her on the couch with nothing to do.

Hey Tonya!!! Is Trey in training for The Drunken Waling Tour?
I asked Trey how far from the dock to the Southern Most Thingee. He said 1-1.5 beers. So remember, in Key West, distance is measured in cocktails.

actually his waling is great, if you don't count pot holes in the road......:rotfl2: I've actually seen him step in one, step out without missing a beat (of course it was filled with water at the time):confused3
