We used to be huge Islander Fans (even had season tickets for a year) but once we moved to Vegas we haven't really followed hockey as much as baseball.

Hockey is pretty much the reason I stopped following baseball. I use to be a HUGE Met fan, but then once I started following hockey, I couldn't get into baseball anymore, it was too slow moving especially after coming off hockey.

My Dad spent 30 years in the Navy, and was a veteran of WW2, Korea and Vietnam. Even though I came along late in his career, I understand the toll it takes on a family. God bless her, those who serve besider her, and those she leaves behind when she goes to "work"!

Well, I had my interview, but I guess it's just a waiting game now. It didn't feel like it went awesome, but sometimes you just never know what the person on the other end was thinking ...

My last interview I went on, I left thinking there is no way I got that job. A few days later I got a call and I had gotten the job! coming your way.

Just got back from honors presentation for Skylar. The pool cracked about 6 foot this evening. I think it's a complete loss combine that with the pool filter--we won't have a pool this summer.

Anyone read the thread on the main board about meet threads becoming "too personal." I was thinking someone coming on our cruise might have posted that. I understand their point but how do you get to know people if you don't post the personal stuff? If you ONLY want to find out cruise info, you can do that on the main board. I thought the purpose of the meet boards was to get to know your cruisemates b4 cruising and decide if you want to hang out with them or avoid them like the plague.

You piqued my interest so I had to read it. Yeah, I understand that especially with a group like us it would seem difficult to slide in since most of us know each other, but I think as a whole we ALWAYS welcome our new Nana Heads and roll out the red carpet, don't you? And I think we're always very supportive of answering questions ... except ... did anyone answer Joanna about where "Banana Head" came from??? I think that's Kathy's story to share ...

I just read it. This is probably becoming a hot topic on meet threads.. I see where they are coming from, but I think we are welcoming. I think most everyone tries to reply when a new person posts. Maybe it was not our board

Good Morning All:

Just checking in and working on my post count. Don't want Kathy to whip me.

I read the board about some of the posts being TOO personal. We are a group of friends that are there through thick and thin. I honestly believe you get what you want out of the boards, nothing more nothing less.

Anywho, I love you all, but I have to get to work since I ain't gonna be here tomorrow.

Morning everyone,

Ok I see I have been called upon due to my vast wisdom to relay a simple story to our new nanahead

It's all Mutt's fault!!:

That said here is the simple truth. way back when we were first posting for a November cruise in 06 there was a lone stranger who called himself Mutt.
He proceeded to post lots of with all his posts.
Now the contents of these posts were humerous, (don't want to give him a big head so wont say they were hilarious) but we all kind of became attracted to his posts with all the crazy bananas he found to post. Not just the one you see here, he has bananas doing all kinds of crazy things.

Soon it became popular for everyone to try and find more bananas to post and before we knew it, he had brain washed us all into posting thousands of bananas.
Worst of all I actually counted them and announced the total at our meet on board
We were all addicted to the all mighty
Then after getting all of us hooked on bananas, Mutt switched to Monkeys

Such a cruel thing to do to his loyal followers, but we wernt discouraged, we banded together and continued on the sacred tradition of being a bananahead with honor and great pride.

Now that you have joined us, you too can hold your head up high and be proud to be a Bananahead

Just look out for that back stabbing monkey Mutt, he is sneaky with his camera on cruises, hoping to catch innocent people relaxing on deck to embarass them by posting their photos for all the world to see

I think we are very welcoming. But we are also all into each others' lives - like friends are-- and that's what makes it cool. But I think the original poster was complaining about that. Really I don't get it because after you talk about excursions, on board meets, martini tastings and such, there's not much more "Cruise stuff" to discuss. Getting to know each other better - enough to drive a couple hours for a fun dinner for example - is why the cruise meet boards exist, doncha think?

Howdy bananaheads,
well it is pouring rain today
Yesterday one of minnie's staples came out
We tried so hard but she still got one out. It was the top one, but no bleeding so even though it is slightly open I think i wont worry about doing anything for a couple of days to see what happens. it appears to be healing pretty good.

at this point I would have to try and find a vet around here that stays open late on weekdays or wait until saturday when we drive back to Salem for some business and see if her vet there will take a look at her.

Greg made it through his first day at work but was really hurting still. Today he did go back again. Since he cant relax all day I am afraid it will take a few weeks to heal up, so he is in for a long time of pain I think. Thanks for all the pixie dust for his back, we will take all we can get.

Dawn, sorry to hear about your pool, that is really terrible.

since it is pouring rain, it may be a good day to bake some cookies or some cupcakes. I will think about it.

Not much else happening here, just a quiet day listening to the rain for now,
