Okay, I am taking the top of the page!:cool1:
Morning Nana's!

Bob: We're going to have allot to talk about!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I started flying back in 1985 thinking I would be a commercial airline pilot, but the maximum height allowed for an airline pilot was 6' 2" and I'm 6' 5", so this dream never materialized. :sad2:

And for those of you wondering if I flew the Learjet over the Grand Canyon.....I wish!!
No, unfortunately the height requirement for a Lear pilot is like 5' 6"......its physically impossible for me to fit in the cockpit of a Learjet.....believe me, I tried!! :lmao:

The jet actually belongs to my Aunt and Uncle and I get to ride in it from time to time. They just sold it a few weeks ago and are in the process of buying a new bigger jet, so I'm expecting a call any day now to go take a "test fly" in it!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I went back to school and became a licensed aircraft mechanic in 1989.

I've been on board some really amazing aircraft. Like: Air force 1, Donald Trump's private 727, the concord, King Hussein of Jordan's private L-1011, ya......good times, good times!!

I started my own computer business about 12 years ago and I don't get to play with aircraft much anymore.
Once in a while the company I worked for in Seattle will call and ask me if I want to do a contract job, but the jobs are mainly overseas like...China, Saudia Arabia, South America, Germany and the contracts usually last 2-6 months!

Like I said before, you have GOT to be my new best friend!

I have never had the opportunity to fly in a private jet, but would absolutely love it. I was amazed at the picture of the cockpit and how cramped it really is up there. So much for my dreams of being a corporate pilot! :lmao: BTW, tell your aunt and uncle if they want a new son/nephew, I am up for adoption!

My SIL in California works for Boeing in what used to be the Rockwell Shuttle Refurbishment division near LA. A couple of year's ago, due to some performance award, she was allowed a tour of the actual space shuttle while it was undergoing work at their facility. Killed my brother and I because she has NO interest in planes, and she gets to go on the Space Shuttle!:confused3 My brother has had the opportunities to fly in a P-51 and another vintage aircraft (I believe a Corsair). He has also done the aerial combat in Los Angeles.

Now, I am like Lorna, I want to know how you gained access to all of those aircraft! I am starting to think you work for the CIA or something!

Lorna :grouphug: thinking of you and your friends. :grouphug: Did you ever hear about your mammogram? I got mine today and everything was ok. :thumbsup2 They want to use them as an example in the classroom so I guess everyone is going to see my tatas :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You must have really nice b**bs if everyone get to see them:lmao: I still have not heard anything. I think that is a good thing. They told me they would call if something is going on. They send the reulsts in the mail, so I am hoping to get them soon. It has been alost a week.

Hi Nanas! Internet has been down most of the morning. I know Christian and Skylar were on this morning but it didn't come back until after 12.

Greg, Don't even think about changing your cruise date. Your family now!

Lorna, Your friends, were they from Caledonia? I saw on the news...

I was looking for pictures but this last year, we spent like 30 days at WDW and then the cruise. Nothing really outstanding that you guys haven't seen before. When I have more a chance to dig, I'll see if I can find some fun ones!

Stephanie and I spent most of the morning marking and sorting for the garage sale. Most of the work accomplished.

Tonya, how's Hunter?
Lorna, Strep throat isn't fun. Hope the meds work fast.

Check back in later.

Good Afternoon:

Well we spend a majority of the afternoon in the Dr's office. Hunter is in a splint until Friday and then more xrays and a prognosis. His swelling is horrible. He didn't sleep well last night and I still sent him to school. He called a little while ago and was doing the best he could. I called the Dr and he is sending out some meds so that he can at least be comfortable. As a mom I wish it was me rather than him. I will let you know more when I know. Thanks for asking.

Afternoon all:

Love all the pictures....keep posting them please....

Lorna enjoying your trip report so far.....do you know what was really hard???When I went to Disney in October and we took the Magical Express, they put us on the cruise bus.....I told the cast member, that if I was going on the bus then I needed to be taken to Port....!!!!! Free Cruise!!!! LOL

Greg: Now your story is your to tall to fly...my daughter while in Iraq last year decided she wanted to learn to fly...the chanooks....anyway she took the written test and passed....however they said she is to short so she couldnt fly....for me that was a good thing...I prefer she keeps her butt on base while in that country.!!!

Tonya: Hope Hunter feels better soon...

Gotta run at work and better get busy....

Later all
denise:banana:

Greg,
not that it is any of my business but I know others have to be curious too, what the heck does your aunt and uncle to for a living that they can afford to buy a large jet???
Nanaheads are curious, noisy people:goodvibes

Ok, first to answer Kathy's question:

My aunt and uncle own allot of different companies and have invested in allot of different things.

They own a company thats Headquartered here in Idaho Falls called Melaleuca.
They also own several Hilton hotels.
They own a gold mine up in Montana.
They own a company called Safe Car that builds armoured vehicles for VIPs and government officials.
They own allot of real estate through out the country, including their own private island off the coast of Alaska where they can go hunting and fishing at their hearts desire!
They also own a huge cattle ranch down in Mexico.....somewhere??
Anyway, the list goes on and on..........

They have 6 children the oldest is my age...and this is what he drives....it holds 200 gallons of diesel and costs almost $800 to fill up and he doesn't even bat and eye....it gets 8mpg on a good day!
truck.jpg

The jet is what they use for long fast trips, but they have another airplane for shorter hops and they have a helicopter for even shorter hops!
I haven't gotten to fly on either one of these, so I'm a little upset!
My mother did go with my aunt on the plane below last month to St. George, UT and said it was very nice.....I think they must of just forgot to invite me?! :rolleyes1

Bob:

I know how you feel. My brother was an accountant for Northrup in LA when they were building the Stealth bomber and he got to see and tour the bomber, but he has no interest in aviation?!

Whats worse is it was top secret so he couldn't even tell me what they were doing until after it was unveiled to the public!!

A friend of ours owns several vintage aircraft including two P-51's, but he crash one of them last year!!
The man has had three airplane crashes in the past 10 years and walked away from all of them.....he's got more lives then a freekin cat I swear!!

Ok, how was I able to get on board all of those aircraft???........Ummm...thats classified and if I told you I'd have to shoot you! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ok, Dawn.....We've never been on a Disney cruise or to Disney World so I haven't seen it!! Post um!! :thumbsup2

As far as changing our cruise dates?.......we probably won't. :)

Wow! I don't blame you! :scared1:

!

We'd be in on that in a heartbeat. We are hoping that once Disney builds its vacation club on Oahu, they will start cruising the islands too. Once that happens I can't imagine we will do anything else for vacation ever. :rotfl:

Hi Nana's:banana:
I hope everyone had a good weekend!! This weekend went by way too fast, I hope the good weather is here to stay. Well, just getting ready to head home but thought I would say :wave2:

I'm with you.....cruising the islands on DCL does have a nice ring to it! :thumbsup2

When my family and I went to Hawaii two years ago we stayed at Marriott's Ko' Olina resort which is right next to where Disney is building their new resort. Its an awesome location!! :thumbsup2

I have done a lot of research on the Hawaiian cruises and unless Disney flags their shop under US they can't cruise the islands without sailing to a foreign country for 24 hours. There has also been talk about them changing that law and making is 48 hours which is why some cruise ships are pulling out of Hawaii. Most ships don't like sailing under a US flag because than they fall under all the US rules and that costs them a lot more money. It will be interesting to see what happens. But I'll tell you if Disney sails to Hawaii, I will be there.

No news is good news :thumbsup2 If they see something they call you before you have a chance to get home. :sad2:

I know. I 've read all the stuff about the rules BUT it sure seems that Disney finds a way to get around certain rules (the color of its lifeboats, fireworks on the open seas) and I wouldn't be shocked to see a rule changes or bent or for Disney to get creative with a way to cruise the islands. I'm not saying that my hopes are up...but if anyone can get it done, I'm betting on Disney.

:cool1: Top of the page twice in one day on this thread (and twice on my other 2 threads). And every time but one I wasn't even trying. It's more fun when it's a surprise!

GOOD GRAVY you people are chatty!!!!

I'm home, lots of laundry to do as you can imagine. Da Mutt is picking up a pizza, The Dues is happy to see Mama (he helped pick me up at the airport!), and I'm trying to adjust to being in my third state and time zone in 3 days!

Back later with trip picks ... and to figure out who my BFF is nowadays ...
