Hello Everyone,

Dont know if you all are aware, but Sunday at Key West, they will be having their annual Pirates Festival.

Looking forward to that. It starts Saturday and runs a full week...

Oh dear. That does NOT bode well for crowds, traffic, space in the bars . . .

DH is cleaning the bus - we drive a week from today.

It's raining, and there are tornado warnings for this area - NEVER happens.

Back from the swim meet. Lizzie did a great job again. She shaved about 2 seconds off her 50 free time and more than a second off her 50 backstroke. She got DQ in butterfly but swam it well. It was a LONG uncomfortable day though as this school had zero seating and so we were all lined up in the halls sitting on towels on the floor and then just could peek in and watch when your kid swam. Elizabeth swam in 3 events numbered 7, 19 and 51. The break between 19 and 51 was something like 2 hours.

Congrats on the times! That sounds like serious torture for the parents, though.

Where is everyone? Hope everyone is having a great day except those in sunny places :lmao: The winter gloom and doom has set-in here in Michigan.

Great job Elizabeth! How come she was disqualified?

Okie, I'm sure your FE is great!

We met up with Lorna, John and girls. Had a great visit!

Sure did get windy today..

Wish it was Snowing....

Hi Nana's,

I just wanted to say Hi to you all. Hope you are having a good weekend. We have the pleasure of the company of our niece and her fiancee and our nephew tonight. We don't get to see them much anymore, so we really enjoy the time with them. Steve is making them steak and mashed potatoes and caesar salad (you can probably tell we like steak by now!) They are playing Wii Guitar Hero III.

We got the shuttle off okay last night. It took me about two hours to get home, instead of the usual 20 minutes or so. Hopefully we will all get to see the landing.

I will check in with you guys again when the kids leave.

Hi all,
finished most of my shopping ok.

Greg has been reading trip reports.
The one for the 7 day cruise over Halloween is scary:scared1:
They were seasoned cruisers who had cruised 10 Halloweens in a row.
They said the kids party was less than an hour including trick or treat and they only had 15 statiosn set up with tiny pieces of candy where the other years it lasted 2 hours and had so much candy the kids couldnt carry it all. They were very un happy.

Then they said the food was so bad several of them walked out on dinner:scared: These are people who love DCL.

Also security had to be called to the goofy pool area hot tub to remove people having sex, more than once. Same person twice with different girls.
Also some problems with teens getting to permiscuses (sp?) in the club with the huge age difference.

They got a letter back from DCL about it and they admitted their was a problem with a 17 year old having sex with 12 year old girls and they did handle it apropriately although they say the parents also need to take some responsibility. I agree. On land the boy would have gone to jail!!

DCL is also looking into the food complaints too, so hopefully it will be ok by the time we get there!!! Raw chicken tenders from Plutos?? Maybe new CM's and new Chef??

Those who just did adult stuff had a good time, but all said the food was aweful:confused3

Check out halloween trip report for yourself, its about 8 pages long.

Wow! That is SAD. We have so looked forward to the food on past cruises.

I DID think on the 5 night in September that there were fewer activities than usual - if it wouldn't have been for activities generated by the groups we were with, I could see us having been bored.

If this cruise isn't as wonderful as the ones we've had in the past, I could see us canceling the back to back we have scheduled for next year. We've always sailed Disney because it's been a quality product (and because of you guys, dear Nanas) but there are other things we could be doing.

Oh well, it will at Least be warmer and sunnier than here, and we'll be among friends. The bar will be open and the pool will be wet. Bring it on!

PS Lisarae, I watched the shuttle launch from about an hour before, hoping to see you in your back row seat and wondering if the female voices I heard were yours! Much more fun for me to know someone who's involved. My husband 'the space nut' would have watched it anyway, lol.

I just read the trip report from Halloween..

Seems like the 11-16 year olds have been problems lately on the past cruises.

I give anyone on this board permission to beat my children if they are out of line, then bring them to my room, so I may beat them.

Deal?

Kathy, since I'm a first time Disney cruiser you're not suppose to scare the HE** out of me with trip reports like that!! :rolleyes1 :lmao:

I'm hoping they were just exaggerating about the sex in the kids pool. :sad2:

I read that report too but there were also other people on the same cruise and didn't have any of the problems that these people had. I will agree the kid thing is pretty scary :scared1: It seems since they changed the ages in the clubs more and more people are complaining.

To be honest...I'd be completely surprised if we had any problems from any Nana kids.

There are however, allot of parents that don't discipline their children and let them do and say what ever they want.

These are the kids I worry about.....they don't have any parental guidance or oversight and have absolutely no respect for anyone or anything.

They think that the world revolves around them and everything in it and on it is suppose to be for their enjoyment regardless of how it affects other people. (the ones who need to be beat are the parents!!) :lmao:

Ok, I figured it was my turn on the soap box!! :rotfl2:

So you live in Vegas:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I swear the kids here are so much more spoiled and lazy than the kids on the East Coast.

Ya, its getting bad everywhere I think. :sad2:

I think people have just forgotten, or haven't learned, that real happiness comes from doing something nice for somebody else and not just trying to please themselves all the time.

Speaking of which....I'm late for a date with my wife!!

Catch ya'll later......:wave2:

I read some of it. Sounds like the OP is a little overboard on some comments. If I was given 20 pieces of candy on Halloween, you can be damn sure my mother would've said, "You have plenty! Be thankful for what you got."
