Here are some true tales of people who put the duh in induhvidual.

I'm in the U.S. Virgin Islands (where they drive on the left side of the road) traveling on a small, open bus. One of the people in front of me remarks that the word "POLICE" is spelled backwards on the hood of the police car. After a lengthy discussion, they conclude that it's because they drive on the left side of the road.

..................................

I was getting gas at the pump when an elderly lady and her grandson drove up next to me in her car. Her grandson hopped out to pump the gas for her, and noticed that the pump was on the left side of the car, but the gas door was on the right. When he told her, she started the car back up, made a U-turn, and drove to the OTHER side of the pump, leaving her in the same situation she started with. When her grandson told her this, she started yelling at him, saying, "You said it was on the wrong side LAST time! Make up your mind!"

..................................

A friend moved to Albuquerque and his wife kept complaining about finding her way around the town. He told her to spot the Sandia Mountains and she'd know that would be east. She said, "That's fine, but where are the other directions?"

..................................

So my wife is trying to fax something to the Virginia Dept of Employment regarding an unemployment claim by a previous employee. She tries the fax over and over again, day and night. No luck. She calls to check to see if the fax number is wrong. The woman at the Dept of Employment who answered the phone asks "Is there paper in your fax? Our fax will not answer unless there is paper in your fax?" My wife questions her on that, and the woman insists that their fax "knows" if there is paper in the other fax. Needless to say, that was not the problem.

..................................

While trying to buy two bottles of wine in a supermarket I was asked, "Are you 21?" Trying to be funny, I said, "No, but my daughter is 22."

The checkout clerk replied "I'm not interested in how old your daughter is. Are you over 21?"

Yes, That's Early

Steph...We knew you were out shopping with your mom for a few days and staying at her house, so we knew you were not going to be on.

You know we love you

Good morning! :) ..or afternoon! ;) Spent a long almost-sleepless night at the hospital with my dd. She had her tonsils/adnoids out yesterday! Let's hope she stays this calm, and QUIET through the cruise too!! :rotfl: She's a feisty one!

Awwww...I hope she is feeling better :goodvibes

Hey Joanna...Yeah, I know. I was just giving you guys a hard time. You'd think after all the cruises I've been on that I would have knew that, but I just couldn't remember if MAIN was Early or Late..:confused3 We always do late, but we were waitlisted for early, so I guess this means that our request went through.

Back in the Olden Days, I actually was in the hospital for 3 days for tonsils ... day before surgery, day of surgery and day after. You know, back when the insurance companies didn't dictate medical care ...

yep, remember those days and doctors made a doctors salary. My plumber makes more than my doctors.

I was in the hospital 8 days when I had my kids...(c-sections) the daybefore and 7 days after...had to wait to take out the sutures....:sad2: now they only stay for 3 days

Yep and the doctors could order MRI's and the patient could actually get the medication the doctor wants him to be on with out calling the insurance company for "permission" to use this medication.!!!!

gotta love insurance companies

That is such a sad commentary on our health care system in general.

Yes it is.....and this is what I (we) deal with daily. It is very sad, that the insurance companies dictate what the doctors can and cannot do.

Hi Cheri.....

How's the weather up there? It's raining here....,would you like some???

There's also much more money to be made on sick people than on healthy people, so health insurance companies hope you don't ever use preventative health screenings.

Speaking of which, I have to go fill out a new application for health insurance so I can get lower rates. I have to do it every couple years. BCBS used to give introductory rates to new clients. Now they have to offer those same rates to exisitng clients as long as they still qualify.

I don't know if this is unique just to IL, but if you have to pay for your own health insurance, it may be worth looking into.
