Good morning everyone,
well we got down into the 20'a last night and the outside faucet where our water comes from is frozen. At least its not our pipes. But still we have to be careful about water usage until it thaws later today. we have water in the tanks but not a lot because theres no reason to.
So we just left a faucet on and will see when it thaws or we may take a blow dryer to it later. It cant be a really bad freeze, it wasnt that cold. It did it once before.

They need frostless faucets here but they don't have them. Of course it usually isnt all that cold here. The year we come back it si breaking all kinds of records for cold and snow. I guess we are lucky charms:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Our portable heater is not ;uting otu much heat either. It must be about shot. We have got more than our moneys worth out of it. So we will go to Walmart this afternoon and get a new one.

Nothing else happening here right now,

Kathy

I'm not sure when or if we'll use them. :confused3

Since they don't expire until the end of 2030....I'll just put them in the safe and see what happens in the future.

We're headed back to Florida in August to see a shuttle launch, but I'm pretty sure we won't be going to WDW. (kids want to do Discovery Cove again) :goodvibes

Greg...If you do Discovery Cove again, would you do the dolphin swim again? Just curious if you feel Discovery Cove is worth going to without the Dolphin swim.

Hi Joanna,

We're not going to do the "dolphin swim" when we go back.

It was ok, but in my opinion wasn't worth the extra $100 per person they charge for it.

We all preferred swimming with the tropical fish and stingrays in the coral reef and Brayden and Holly loved the lazy river and aviar. :cool1:

Kathy, hope your able to get the pipes unthawed!

I agree, its been one heck of a year to try and live in an RV in Oregon. :scared:

I hear those new infrared heaters are suppose to be really good at keeping you warm.

Wow that's a big difference! What ship are you sailing on? Did you book your airfare through RCCL?

We are going on the Adventurer of the Seas. I had enough Delta miles to buy 1 ticket for $10, but even if I had paid that full price, we'd still be $500 ahead of DCL ... and that's going out of San Juan!

Kathy:wave2: We have a infrared heater...had it for a while now...my grandmother used it all fall in her RV. She found it great.

That's a great deal especially from San Juan. When we sailed with DCL in 07 it was cheaper then the RCCL Mariner of the Seas that's why we switched. We priced last years DCL cruise but they wanted $1000 more then the year before:confused3 We haven't priced this cruise since we can't book it yet anyway.

I was hoping we could cruise with RCCL this time, but it just won't work out.

We're cruising for the itinerary and not so much for the ship.

We ended up booking NCL in two connecting suites for almost $2000 less then our DCL cruise..... plus they gave us $600 OBC! :woohoo:

My 1st name is Shelley. Thanks! Is there anything for little kids to do in Key West? Otherwise, we could just relax on the boat. My DH and I were there once when we did a 3 day cruise and had a blast at all of the bars but we can't do that with the little ones.

Hi Shelley, Nice to know your name:goodvibes
There is an aquarium 5 minutes walk from the ship that kids would like. I believe there is a butterfly conservancy near by too. Thats about all I know for sure. No kids with us so I dont normally watch for kids places.

Well at least you can get some tropical drinks on the ship;)

Kathy

Howdy everyone,

well our pipe or faucet actually thawed ok on its own today, so no problems there, thank goodness.

Greg bought new heater but hasnt brought it in from the truck yet so I don't know what kind it is.
we have to be careful to get one that doesnt pull too many AMPS.
The man who had this RV before us re did some of the wiring himself as he added dumb things which we removed. But because of that things are not on the right breakers, soem have too much, some not enough things. So If I want to use one of the plug in, in the kitchen I have to trun off the heater. If i use the other plug in near the table I have to turn off the TV but can leave the heater on.
Its kind of like those old shows from the 50's where the wife always knew when to unplug things so she wouldnt blow fuses:rotfl: :rotfl:

The sun is out nicely this afternoon. Its still cold but at least it looks nice.:thumbsup2

We want to do a Holland America cruise. hopefully before the 2010 TA crusie. Not due to the ship or cruise line but in 14 days they have 11 ports!!

Plus it was cheap!!! It leaves out of Fort Lauderdale. Sorry I dont remember the ports but I think all but 2 were new ports for us. Even if they didnt have a lot to do on the ship that would be ok because we would be resting up due to all the ports, so I wouldnt miss not having things to do.

I know Disney is better than others for service and cleanliness and for things we like to do but all those ports just keep calling our name:cheer2: :cheer2:

But today we have been making our escape plan for going back to Florida. Looks like the first week of April will be when we go!! Our youngest son is thinking about coming back with us which surpized me. He does have a lot of friends there.

Kathy, you'd probably enjoy cruising with HAL....its better suited for the 55+ age group!! :rotfl2:

I hear ya on the ports. Every time I think about possibly switching ships those ports keep calling our names!! :goodvibes

Holland America & Princess both have a 10 day cruise going down to Aruba that I thought about booking, but the ships don't have all the fun kids stuff that the NCL Dawn has. :sad2:

The aquarium is really fun. We had a nice time there. We also walked and shopped a bit with the kids. And we took their pix with the big scary sponge guy. We almost went to the shipwreck museum too but decided we wanted to get back to the ship.

Yay that's great Kathy!!!!! If you go back the first week of April, maybe you can meet us at Easter time. And if not then you HAVE to come and see Lizzie dance at downtown Disney in June.

We just might make it. Not sure because we arnt going to push oursleves hard this time. I get too tired driving 8 hours a day. I can go 5 ok but then I get too tired. But if our son comes he may drive the truck and tow his car and we will pull the trailer with the motorhome, then I wont be driving, just riding in the RV with Greg and the girls. We will leave between the 1st to the 10th of April. I am all for the 1st myself:thumbsup2

We were just talking today that first thing we are buyng is our annual passes for WDW, then we will get Universal in a couple of months so they dont expire at the same time. Plus Seaworld always offers buy one day admission and come back the rest of the year. So will probably do that too.

Greg and I were talking about coming to see Elizabeth dance today too. But connecting at Easter time would be a nice bonus.
I'm not sure just when Easter is this year, I'll have to look it up. It would be extra fun if Pat and Steve and family could make it too. I get a kick out of her. We live about 30 minutes from each other. I cant wait to see her again.

I'll keep you posted when the time gets closer so you can give me exact dates and if it works we can set up a place and time to meet:cool1:

Hey, I resemble that remark mister:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I will be among the YOUNGER set on board;)

We dont have to worry about kids programs thank goodness. But when we take grandkids I would NOT do anything but Disney. We got burned on Carnival for the grandkids.

Actually some of the Holland America ships have movie theaters like Disney. Most dont. So they might have a movie we could watch. I dont think they have anything I want to do on the ship. But I want to see the ports.
will 11 ports out of 14 days I wont miss not having something fun to do on board.
Disney will always be our favorite and I hope to get to do many more cruises with them. Living back in Florida will make it alot easier to do.

One of our neighbors here had a bad heart attack this afternoon. No word on how he is doing? I hope he makes it.

well time for me to go to bed,

Night all,

Kathy

Yikes. We were on page two.

Kathy - Easter might be tough now that I think about the calendar as we will be there on the 12th and 13th (after our 3 night cruise). But June for sure. Once we have a solid date, I'll let you know. It will be sometime between the 20th and 24th. And yes, Pat and her family are also planning to meet us then.

It's funny but I am looking so forward to you being back in Florida. It just doesn't seem right without you being there. I'm sure you REALLY feel that way.
