Tomorrow I will make a chocolate yule log cake. I am using a receipe off the internet since my cookbooks are packed.
Anybody have a good receipe for a chocolate one?
I would love the receipe. I would prefer to try one that someone i know has used and liked it.
Less chance of failure that way.

Ok a third on the soapbox. I agree overall. But. You also only get one chance to spoil your kids.
Thats a great way to raise them.
we made our work for allowances and to help around the hosue with NO rewards of any kind, just becasue we are a family and help each other out without getting a reward.
Plus doing for others without them knowing it to learn how it feels to do soemthing for someone without being asked and to not be thanked but to know it was appreciated.

example. elderly neighbor goes to a doctor appointment so while they are gone you mow their grass, do some weeding and be done before they get home. Another neighbor is having a hard time financially, so we go to the store and buy groceries which kids can help pick out and while they were gone leave a couple bags of groceries on their porch for them without ever saying they did it.

Those are the best lessons for everyone to learn. I do believe they learned some valuable lessons from those experiences. Plus we have been on the receiving end too, so they know both sides of the situation.

See, there is room on the soap box for 2 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: as long as theirs NO plank to walk off the box.

Greg how do you like your present that Janel wouldnt let you unwrap ahead of time???

My new home theater is so awesome!!! :woohoo:

That plasma tv and blu ray player make the movies look sooooo real I swear I could climb into the picture!! :goodvibes

I agree its fun to spoil your kids now and then.

We have the following poster hanging on the wall in the hallway that we use as a guide. :thumbsup2

Signs of a spoiled child

-- Rarely shows appreciation or says "thank you."
-- Doesn't seem satisfied with whatever they get.
-- Asks frequently for things and gets upset if they don't immediately get them.
-- Doesn't have any family responsibilities.
-- Frequently complains about being treated unfairly.
-- Rarely offers to help someone else.
-- Expects others to accommodate their wants.
-- Rarely compromises or shares with others.
-- Has a "what's-in-it-for-me" attitude.

I think this could be applied to adults as well!! :lmao:

I have been watching a marathon of Burn Notice.
Anybody ever watch that show?
Yesterday I watched a marathon of Psych, it is pretty funny once you know the characters.

I'm here.

Was watching my BIL play football on ESPN. They're playing in the Holiday bowl down in San Diego. (Oregon VS Oklahoma)

Had to come up for a break. Oklahoma is ahead....I hope the Ducks get it together soon or they're going to loose. :sad2:

That's great Greg. And I agree re the adults. I've seen quite a few here at WDW this week who this would apply :rotfl:

Well we are having the best time here so far. Here's a brief rundown of what we have done.

Sunday night: Osbourne Lights at DHS - FANTASTIC
Monday AM: Got to DHS close to opening and scored fast passes for Toy Story Mania. Then went to Playhouse Disney, Beauty and the Beast show and then used our fast passes. Had lunch at Brown Derby which is one of our favorites.
Monday PM: Went back to the room for a while and went to the quiet pool and hot tub at the BCV for a bit before getting ready for our evening.
Monday night: Dinner with Pooh and friends at the Crystal Palace. So far our only "okay" experience. The food was pretty bad which isn't the case at breakfast. But we had fun with the characters. Then we went into the park which was more crowded than I have ever seen it. Ever. Went to Small World and the carousel and then we were headed to the front of the park to watch Holiday Wishes when we hit gridlock. Way way way too many people approaching the "hub." So we stopped in our place (for Mina and Emily it was in the middle of it all) for Lizzie and I near Caseys. We found a GREAT place to watch fireworks without crowds. Then back to the room after all that.

Tuesday AM: We entered the gates of the MK at 7:45 a.m. and it was EMPTY. We walked on to Space Mountain, the race cars and buzz lightyear. Mina and Emmy walked on to Pooh and got us fast passes for Splash later on and then we all met at Dumbo and went on after a short wait..then on to Peter Pan..then we all went to the Castle to watch the show at the Castle stage and wait for Pat and her family. I got us all some fast passes for Space Mountain for later. Then we all went around together. Had the best time with Pat, Stacey, Stephen, Laura, Cullen and Pat's daughter Bobbi and her little boy William and their friends. During the course of the day we rode Haunted Mansion, Space Mt. again, Splash Mt., some folks rode the Blue Line and Small World and the Carousel, Buzz Lightyear again, Goofy Rollercoaster and perhaps one or two more. We saw the afternoon holiday parade including Santa then left the park to get to Chef Mickey's for dinner. Had a fantastic dinner. Lots of great character interaction and good food too. We were all exhausted by now (and it was all of 6:30 p.m. :rotfl: ) But we went to the Poly for some shopping since we hadn't done enough of that yet. but the girls got Disney Gift Cards from Santa in their stockings and they were burning a hole in their pockets. After that, we went to MK to catch the bus back to BCV. We were all pretty tired so we just hung out in the room and the girls were asleep by 9:15. And we were done by about 11.

We slept in this morning and are just now going over the Epcot for a short while before going to ESPN Club to watch the Sun Bowl - Pitt vs. Oregon State. We are planning to go to Epcot after the game as we have dinner resevations at Le Cellier. Hoping to get some fast passes for later when we go over right now. We shall see.

In all our times of going to WDW we have never done the "early morning" thing very well. But it is truly the secret. Getting there at or close to opening allows you to ride a bunch of rides, walk around without wall to wall people and get fast passes for later and get out before the crazy crowds happen.

Ok..we are off now! Have a great New Year's Eve everyone.

Hi all,
Jeff, great report. makes me wish I was there. Did you see the new restaurant by Chef Mickeys? They took out the steak house and put in a new place thats less formal and you roder on a touch screen and given a beeper that goes off when the food is ready or something like that. It is open early until 10 p.m. I believe. It just opened up this week. Anyway its a new system and suppose to be faster than standing in line to order.

Greg, glad to hear the entertainment center is working great. I'll bet the game came in great on the big screen.

Brantley, nice to hear you had a good time with the family. Tomorrow is our day to go and see family for our Christmas together. Now they say a nasty rain storm is coming in with 50 MPH winds but we are still going. Its 230 miles round trip so its not like we just drive 15 miutes and we are there.

Joanna, I stay away from those shopping networks or I would never be able to afford a cruise !! They are real salesmen on there.
