Hey Nanafolks! Since everyone is making plans to vacation in 09 and 2010--I'm gonna put this out for anyone who'd like to hang with me and the Woo.
I believe that we're doing an RCCL on Nov. 15, 09. Its a 7 nighter and sails from Puerto Rico (which is like an extra port of call for me)-- St. Thomas, Dominica, Curacao and Aruba. I love Disney and all you nutty nanas but we wanna try new places and see new things. I've always wanted to go to Dominica (they filmed a lot of Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2 there) and I believe this is the chance to do it.

Gimme a write if you want more info but we'd really love some nanas to join us in the adventure (which also happens to be the ship that we're sailing).

Joanna, I'm still working on the Oasis in 2010---I think we'd like to join in and travel with you folks.

da Mutt

You guys are going to love RCCL.:thumbsup2 I love DCL, but I've cruised RCCL "adults only" and it's a LOT of fun! ;) And I've been on the sister ship to the one you are going on. It is very nice!!!

Wish we could go with you, but now that we are both working for our business we can't cruise in November. To be completely honest I'm just hoping we can keep the Jan. 2010 Disney cruise we have booked!

OH!!! and I almost forgot. The Adult pool on those ships is FABULOUS. It's called the Solarium and it's great. We never even went to the other pool!! I'm SO jealous.

I just wrote an entire answer to this thread and I hit a button and it went bye bye

So now you can get the scaled down story...I just asked Mitch if he would rather do the Oasis or the NCL out of NY to the Bahamas...He (without any thought) answers Oasis with a voice that is saying...I can't believe she asked me if I wanted to go to the Bahamas or do the Oasis :lmao:

So let me know if you book the 2/13/10 sailing...I am going to get either a Promenade view or an oceanview, there is to much to do on the ship to warrant a balcony. Promenade rooms are real nice, you can look out and people watch :)

I'd LOVE to go on Oasis too!! Maybe we can do the women-only Nana cruise on the Oasis for a week.:rotfl: Hey I can dream!!

But as tempting as it is I think I want to stick with Disney one more time while the kids are still so young. It's just perfect for their ages, they'll be 3 1/2 and 6 1/2 next time we cruise.

Joanna, I was looking at NCL today also.

There is a 9 day cruise out of Miami that caught my eye. Goes to Tortola, Barbados, and St. Kitt, but I'm not sure how great their kids club is? :confused3

I saw that one also for the same February week in 2010 correct?

Go to www.cruisecritic.com and check out the NCL boards and ask about that particular ship doing that particular itinerary, because I think it does matter.

We were on the Explorer of the Seas and there are a ton of kids on these ships.

Yes of course, i have cruised Rccl as well. but my point was they are the perfect age for all the Disney-style entertainment, and they are at an age when all of that is very "magical" to them.

Ya, that's the one. :thumbsup2

I don't know anything about those islands other then I've never been to any of them.....so it sounds adventurous to me!! :cool1:

9 nights is the perfect amount of time to be on a cruise but the Oasis just has it all!

I'm sure you checked out the thread www.oasisoftheseas.com
but be careful, because you may be spending much time at the carousel on I think it's deck 5 with Holly :)

Hey Jeff, sorry....didn't mean to come down so hard on Disney.

I think it just upset me so bad because most of what we did get to do we really enjoyed!

If we could have gotten the CM's and restaurant managers to make us feel even mildly welcome I think we would of had a great time.

No skin off my nose. I'm really sorry that you didn't have a magical time because honestly when we go to Disney something ALWAYS happens that we look at each other and say..."Only at Disney." Believe me I am a customer service freak so if I had the experience you had at the Castle I would have had a very strong negative reaction. And had it been my first time at WDW I know it would have turned me off too.

We have only had one really bad experience in all the times going to Disney and it occurred at the Yacht Club two summers ago when they had just made the switch to all non smoking - but they hadn't yet cleaned all the rooms thoroughly. They put us in a formerly smoking room which I told them was unacceptable when we checked in and asked that they please find us a formerly non smoking room. Front desk personnel said they didn't know which were formerly nonsmoking because they had made the change. When I went to a manager, I got a grouchy miserable woman who was of no help whatsoever. After 3 changes we finally got a room that didn't reek of smoke but my "magic" had disappeared. Thankfully we recovered it on the next day of the trip though. And again, had that been my first visit, I don't know that I would have recovered.

But I was interested in reading your comments (and Christine's) because we have found in our last 3 or 4 visits that the service has gotten remarkably better...not that it had been bad, but we have had cast members bending over backwards to be nice, welcome us, just the little things that we hadn't noticed before - more "cruise-like" behavior.

Hi Jeff & Shell!:hippie:

Staying warm I hope!

Hi Melanie!
Hope you are well. Yep trying to stay warm and get ready for Christmas and plan for our trip and get some actual work done. I had 3 new business meetings this week and am looking toward a very busy first quarter 2009. :thumbsup2 Now if I can just get done the stuff I need to finish up for my current (crazy) clients. :rotfl:

I'm really sorry that Greg and family didn't have a better experience also. Most CM's cater to me almost "too much" if that can happen. Maybe it's because of the chair--but that's why I go to Disney. Night of MVMCP: Little things like staying on the ride and riding twice makes a "magical moment." A CM "watched" my chair and put next to the check out counter so it could recharge while we got something to eat. The manager at the All-Star resort personally came up to us and said welcome back and we have your favorite room ready!! I've had some problems which I do write letters about and have always gotten a phone call in apology and money back or something to make me "feel" better about the problem.

We had what looked like would be a great winter job for us fall victim to the economy this week. So we are now coming up with a new plan! Hopefully we will still get it but it will be later.

I kept hoping that the next day or the next park would get better for us, but it just seemed to keep spiraling downward.

Because we didn't get into the Royal Table till Monday it threw off the schedule I'd planned out with dinning reservations and other things and when we arrived at Hollywood studios to see Fantasmic (which according to all the show times I got from the Disney website said it started at 7pm) we arrived at 6:05pm to find out that they started the show early that day at 6pm and since the show had already started they wouldn't let us in! :sad2:

Morning all,
we have gained a few more 08 people. Guess we are just irrestible:goodvibes

well our freezing rain slwoed down and by the time it got here so did a warming front so it was just regualr rain. Boy am I glad because it poured all night and is still pouring. If it had been freezing rain it would have been horrible.

But we did reach our high at 6 a.m. today and have been cooling off ever since. Our rain is now turning to a snow rain mix, soon to be all snow and its suppose to snow through the night and into tomorrow.

Then it will clear up by late saturday. just in time for sundays next storm to hit:rolleyes1

This is highly unusual weather for this time of the year in this part of the state. Just our luck its happening the year we returned.:sad2:

It was so nasty this mornign the dogs wouldnt even go out to do their business.

so I have been watching and waiting for thier mad dash to the door when they cant wait any longer:lmao:
