We spent the rest of the morning until about 2 p.m mowing and cleaning up. Phew! I am so glad that I had left the mowing until today. We went to Chuck E Cheese for lunch/dinner and air conditioning. When we got home, it was sooo hot. Grabbed Alexis and came back over here to Stephanie's. I'm lost not being able to get on the computer.

Kathy, I didn't get a chance to wish you well today. Hope you had a good time!

Chuck: Sorry to hear about your contractor problems! We have a saying around here.....if a contractor is talking....hes lying!

Not to say that there isn't some "good" contractors, but they are sure hard to find!!

My wife and I built our home ourselves 13 years ago because I couldn't deal with contractors. The only things we didn't do ourselves was pour the basement / foundation, drill the well, and lay the carpet....everything else was done by us....plumbing, electrical, framing, sheeting rocking, painting, etc.

Mel: Sorry to hear about your sister's loss!! Glad they found another house so quickly! (Idaho keeps sounding better and better all the time!)

Dawn: Hope your power comes back on soon!! Usually I'm running our A/C my now, but its been so cool this year I haven't turned it on yet!!

Kathy: How did things go at the vets and your grand-daughters graduation?

I'm sure your all in bed by now, but thought I would drop by to say w emade it back safely.
The day was long but went well overall.

Minnie apt went well accept she didnt want to go back to see the vet. That was the first time ever, she didnt want to go see the vet, gues she remembered the pain. we still have to keep the wound dry for a few more days for the scab to heal better but at least the stiches and staples are out so it shouldnt irritate her so much.

saw my mom and brother for a few minutes then off to Ana's party which was perfect for a teen. It was in a Pizza place. Lots of people, pizza, cake and gifts.
we had to take turns going in due to having the dogs but that was ok too, I brought out piece of cheese pizza for them to share.
Ana got her drivers license today too, so it was a great day for her.
we didnt get home til around 7 P.M. and boy am I tired.

so off to relax and will check back in the morning before I go grocery shopping.

Dawn, so happy your daughter has electricity so you can have some relief from the heat.

Hi Gang!
We had a Senior Photo Open House today from noon-4. Not a lot of traffic, but we booked 3 sessions so thats good!

Chuck- you might just want to go visit the 2008 thread just to get a feel for what you're in for in December! Watch out!! Sorry to hear about the contractor debacle! I hope you can find another one soon.

Dawn- so sorry to hear about your house. Is everything ok?

Tornado update: For those that may be wondering, my sister found out this week that her house that we thought was going to be ok after the tornado is actually condemned. Somebody came and look at it and said it wasn't safe to live in anymore from the damage. Then she also found out that her car was totalled too. The good news is they have found another house already and she can get into it in a couple of weeks. She's in a hotel now, which I believe is financed by FEMA. The other house that my OTHER sister & BIL owned was demolished today.

thanks for the well wishes...but my problems are nothing compared to what your sister is going through. At least I still have a house. I wish them well

Hi Kathy,

It must be the heat....the boards were quiet yesterday too. Just finished washing my car...the heat is unbearable and it going to get worse. Mark and I are heading down the hill to watch some of the annaul bike race. Not sure how long we will last with the heat...but I always need to see a little of the race each year..it's the only time I get to ring our cow bell without strange looks from the neighbors...lol

I have had a good weekend.

I went to see the Foo Fighters at Wembley Stadium yesterday and that was great other than the problems with the tube not running properly but then it never does in London.

Today we went to MIL for a bbq again and just chilled.

I almost forgot.
Today I headed out a different direction for my grocery shopping.
Cottage grove only has a safeway, some mom and pop stores and an old walmart with no real groceries. really tiny stores no real selection.

So today I headed south the same distance to Roseburg and I found a warehouse discoutn store with awesome prices, good selection, Albertsons, K-mart, walmart, fred Meyers, sears, macys, penneys, Micheals(hooray for scrapbooking) JoAnne's, Bi Mart, and all manor of restaurants.I didnt go all the way down the main road due to time and i bought some ice cream but at last I can buy some clothes and get some descent prices.

Hello Nanas!

We finally got the electric back! Phew, that was 2 of the longest days I've had in a Llllllooooonnnnngggg time! We just had another system pass through with alot of rain, thunder, lightening and wind. I was praying the whole time! At least, the temps have cooled off some--now that I have air conditioning to turn on

Not much else to tell. Except I'll go give the pool place a deposit for the new liner and I need to clean. Haven't run the vacuum in a couple of days!

I'll see if I can upload the pictures to show you!
