Same here....I don't have to work until Monday, but It's 10am....I've got to get some yard work done!!

well I will be back on and off all day long today to try and slip into the top at least once.

Tomorrow I may not be on until evening because we have to drive to Salem and Silverton to take Minnie to the vet, see my mom and go to Ana's graduation Party. we will take turns going in while the other one stays with the dogs outside in the truck but it is better than nothing. So we wont be home until evening tomorrow.


The sun has peaked out from behind the clouds long enough that I could walk the dogs for a bit without getting all soggy. Still have laundry to do but I am having lunch right now, then relax and then laundry. I have my priorities straight

beautiful sunny day here....stuck working in the house and dealing with our contractors from hell....why is it so hard to find a contractor who shows up on time, meets the estimate and actually does a good job....

But on the brighter side....only 4 months and 28 days until AKV.....

Chuck,
my husband use to be a building contractor and almost everyone he worked for who had work done by someone else had the same complaint.
They show up late or not at all or dont clean up good enough when they are done etc....
Florida was really bad for that. Those people are so lazy.

My DH always wanted to get done so he could get paid, so we could feed the kids.

My husband rarely posts but his posting name is "The Hammer". because when he went to work for a major builder in Florida he cleaned house of all the irresponsible people. he had a meeting and gave 2 warnings after that, then POOF! they were gone!!
Thus he hammered down on them, so he wasnt very popular until things ran so much better everyones jobs were easier because the goof offs were gone.
so the men called him the Hammer!!

They dont believe it but he really hates to fire people, he knows they have families to feed to, so he was fair about it, but the first 6 months he fired over 20 contractors and vendors and about 10 workers. He also caught about 6 contractors cheating on their bills and saved the company about half a million the first year. Too bad they are all going under in Florida because the housing market is so bad now.

Right well I am all packed for my holiday just need to get some underwear and toothpaste this weekend and my mum is kindly buying me the lovely tropical hair bands them I am all set.

Just two more days of work to get through.

No more news on the job front for my husband yet unfortunately.

Good Morning almost afternoon Nanas!

Went with Elizabeth and Stephanie this morning. Went to a garage sale on the way to the shoe store. Mom wanted to get her some Keens. She loves to get wet and her shoes are always wet and yucky. This way you can take a hose to them and they dry fast.

Not going to do much today. A load of laundry stuff like that. No rain but it is still hot and humid! The computer says 82 degrees but when you walk outside you hit a wall of heat.

Chuck I sure hope the windows go in smoothly! I'd read your contract regarding your trim. Mine said they put them in in like condition. So if they ruin your trim they may have to foot the bill--make sure they do it right or have them re-do it!

Melanie, I always think of Alex's eyelashes. He has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen!

What are Keens? Sounds like we need some!

You know Alex is my child so of course I think he's the best looking kid ever... but he really does have the longest darkest eyelashes of any kid I've ever seen. And they've always been that way even since he was really little. So when he was a baby it looked like someone taped butterfly wings to his eyelashes.

Jacksons are long and dark too, but not as much as Alex!

The part tht I don't get, and the contractor knew this. I have quite a few other projects I need to be done. He would have gotten the business. Not now....He gave his card to my neighbor, guess what I am telling my neighbor..

In the end, the work that will still need to be done I can handle. I can do most projects but I do no have the time or the energy at this point in my life to do it all. Remodelled the bathroom, kitchen and master bedroom in the last house....it felt like thats all I ever did. This house we decided to save money and pay someone to do it. This was our project for the year.

But I am refusing to let it get to me...I am not happy....but i will do the happy dance anyway....

and I hardly ever drink but i think I may partake this evening....
