Oops. Looks like one of mine isn't working either. Well, no time now to fix it, have to get ready for work.

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well and getting very excited about the trip :woohoo::yay:

I mis read my reservation because they list them funny:scared1:
It says category 8 room 6646:rolleyes1
Every book/site I check says I have been upgraded to a cat 6 (solid veranda wall):confused3
I think they list it as a cat 8 because I paid for a gty 8...
But the room appears to be an upgrade to a cat 6 pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:
What an amazing surprise :cool1:

Everything for our big trip & wedding is pretty on track (super pleased with myself today as I finished off my FIL’s & parents FE gifts for them, now we just have to finish ours :lmao:) I am a completely list obsessed person and I love being able to cross everything off.

The last big thing for the trip we need to decide is... day trips, and which ports we want to see, does anyone have any suggestions of a must see?

Oh and I have another question, I saw on the planning DVD that we have fireworks when we are at sea, does anyone know if this only happens once and by chance if it’s possible to find out when it will happen?

Almost finished my GTKY questions and just a couple of quick FE updates before I forget…..

1) Unless anyone has any objections I was thinking cut off could be a month before we sail, i.e October 28th? Would that be ok or should we give it another week or so?
2) Latest counts are:
17 Families
22 to 24 staterooms
Kids total at this stage = 18
Girls - 3, 5, 5, 6 , 6, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 8, 9, 11, 12 = 15 total
Boys - 3, 11, 13, 17 = 4 total

3) What would be great is if everyone could send me an email (my email address is vhodgson79@hotmail.com) as the subject could you have your username and then FE List.
(so if I emailed myself the subject would be : Nessa FE List) then I will reply to your email with the excel spreadsheet. I will sent it through a few days after cut off.

4) I have a few updates to add into the sheet now and then once we decide on a cut off, I will send out to you all a few days after that date.

Congrats on the upgrade Duck Addict! Nessa I think the cut off time a month out would be okay, I will email you a little later. Glad to hear everything is all set for your wedding, you will be the magics princess that day!:lovestruc

Nessa,
I think a month before hand would be excellent. :thumbsup2 DH is in such a planning stage right now that I think his head is going to explode. :rotfl2: DD was like "Daddddddd, why are you getting so excited?" Dang kid needs a job and real pressure to understand the need for vacation. Of course she's only 9 so I think we'll cut her some slack for a few more years. :rotfl2:

Fireworks at Sea - They are held on Pirate Night only unless it's raining. The fireworks come at the very tail end of the pirate party. Then after the fireworks they open up the buffets. :thumbsup2 As you can tell from the previous pictures I posted, we do dress up. Not many adults dress up but we have fun and got a really great picture! And as Halloween is at the end of the month, everything goes half price on November 1st!! :thumbsup2
Pirate party is cute and the deck gets really crowded but the kids have a blast. :goodvibes

Hi Jeff glad to see you are back ,was wondering where you were! Will email you on the meet.:thumbsup2

Nice to see you back Jeff. I sent you a PM with a description of my own indiscretion. :rolleyes1 Or at least the Dis board version of it. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Let me know the url of your new website. I'll join you!! :thumbsup2

Okay folks, where are you all??? We're on page 2.

So good morning to everyone. Nothing exciting happening here but it is cold and I'm ready for warm weather. In fact I've had frost on my windshield the past 2 mornings that have needed scraping. And because I'm convinced it's still summer  I haven't put my ice scraper in the car. I've been using my DD's shovel from the beach toys. You'd be surprised that it works pretty well. :lmao::lmao:

Oooooh.....can't wait to hear the gorey (sp?) details! Sounds interesting! I also checked out the cruise meet thread for this cruise on another site and posted that there are a number of us "over here" that have been chatting and getting to know each other and that if they are interested in joining us to COME ON DOWN!!:dancer: This icon doesn't really fit but it makes me laugh everytime!

Printed out my packing list am getting ready to dig the suitcases out to start packing! YAY!! I'm SO excited!:banana: I think I'm more excited than the girls! I agree, Alison...they don't know real work to understand why getting away is exciting! I've already told everyone I will have NO access to phone or email so DON'T BOTHER!! Which is actually good for me too. I would imagine I will probably still bring my laptop so I can download pictures and probably check every once and awhile. I'm going to be really busy before and after we go BUT it's work and I am NOT complaining.

Have a good day everyone!

Shelley

Hey Shelley wanna come pack for me? lol! I just cant seem to get into the packing thing yet, I have my suitcases out but all I do is look at them lol! They seem to have become decor for my bedroom! Started on the fe gifts but they are a long way off from being finished, got most of the gifts for the girls done , not so many boys on this so that shouldnt be to hard, the adults could be another story though!

Hey, great to see some of the new GTKY's! I've loved reading each and every one.

And it's great to "see" you back Jeff! I'm glad you're not in total exile anymore. I'll email ya.

I think I'm going to start packing soon too. I NEVER pack this early--I'm just really a procrastinator at heart...but it's either put the summer clothes away and have to dig through them to pack in just a month...or pack what we need now and put the rest away...(okay okay or REALLY procrastinate and just leave the summer clothes out until after our trip altogether :lmao:) so I guess I'll be packing uncharacteristically early...

Great idea inviting more folks Shelley! And that icon is totally hilarious

My sewing room is the packing room so I can't start packing till all the sewing is done. Almost finished with a vest for DH for semi-formal night and working on a gown for me for formal night & if there is enough time a dress for semi-formal night. (I'd like to do something for pirate night too but have to see how time pans out) Don't get to do many formal things so I am going all out for the cruise. I don't have real strict packing restrictions since we are driving down. The stuff just has to fit in the car.

What dinner seating are all of you in? We are Late seating.

Wow! Log off to do some work and the board picks up. Maybe its me. :goodvibes

We're in the late seating. I'd like to get a different dress for me and DD needs a pretty blouse to go with her new skirt. So while I'm not trying to buy anything else, I have a feeling that there may be more shopping in my future. :rolleyes1

And Jeff, I sent you an email. Apparently I just typed that I sent you a PM. Long day yesterday. I need a head slapping smilie for myself. :goodvibes

we are also in late seating! After many times doing early seating and trying late seating once...we have finally made the move for good. Found that the kids didn't do better or worse at late vs. early and the late gives us a better flow of the day and more time in ports or to relax after getting back from ports.

We are just holding our breath hoping everyone stays healthy between now and the cruise. There are so many bugs flying around school, it makes me nervous. And once we get onboard the ship, the kids BETTER be bathing in purell for the whole trip so they don't bring anything funky home.

We are also on the late seating, seemed to be the most popular way to go from what I read on the boards. Will try and get a brunch booked once onboard! Dh is travelling up north to Sudbury next week for his work and the weather station is saying up to 15 centimetres of snow for that area! Wow hope it doesnt make its way down here, looking forward to caribbean weather big time!:cool1:

My family used to live in Sudbury when I was a kid. We used to watch the slag for the mines being dumped somewhere and I imagined that's what an active volcano would look like.

Nice to see you posting again Jeff....wondered where you went

Janice

We are late seating - which I think will work fine since my younger kids are not big fans of a 1-2 hour meal which means they can eat and then got to the kids club while DH and I relax with wine and quiet table!! Just hope they can stay awake at the club? Or is there an area they can curl up and fall asleep?

Packing - I know the daytime weather will be warm and I was planning on mostly summery stuff but then thinking the kids will want more comfy warmer clothes for the club, right? I picked up some cute new skirts, dresses, etc, at end of summer for the girls (thinking coordinated picture outfits) but now wondering if they will want/need to wear long sleeve shirts/pants at night - both outside walking the ship and at the club? I know the days are shorter now as compared to summer so sun should be setting like 6pm by then (maybe earlier?). I am famous for overpacking and really trying not to but don't want to spend too much time doing laundry. Plus we are surprising the kids so trickier to pack on the sly - hiding in my closet now but likely use my neighbors house to really lay things out before going in the suitcase. With family of 6 we will have lots of suitcases (plus room for FE stuff and souvenoirs!). Any suggestions/feedback appreciated.
