11/27/04 the sequel.....

I know I'm getting old!!! What the heck is YuGiOh???? Sounds like one of those health drink smoothies!!!!
No, you're not getting old. It's an imported cartoon where they dual each other using cards. I don't understand it and I have a DS who loves it! After you've had it explained to you, you really NEED a smoothie!

Sort of like Pokemon/Japanese Anime combined.

Absolutely. But I almost understood Pokemon. How I long for the days of "Wonderful World of Disney"!

From what my DS's say that Yu Gi Oh! is better than Pokemon (could have fooled me from all the cards and stuff they had from that). If it's not that he loves to talk about Star Wars and Leggo. They don't go far without their cards. I can't wait to tell them that there are fellow card players going on the cruise. One more thing to make the trip great (for them anyway)

Maybe we can all get together on Deck 9 over drinks and discuss just how YuGiOh works and why it is such an attraction!

I'd rather get together over drinks and talk about the Mousketeers and Annette! Whats wrong with the kids today!!!!

I think after a couple of good drinks - I might just understand and probably enjoy playing!lol But Izzi you are right - I want to talk about the mouseketeers instead. Or at least goofy (my personal favorite):drinking1

Sounds good to me! Oh, how I miss "The Wonderful World of Disney" and all of those great Micky, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto cartoons!!! I least I understood them!

Hi - anyone out there scrap book? If you do and have a hobby lobby near you. The acid free stickers are half off. I got a ton of Disney stickers for y album. There were even natical and beach scenes. I also got a cool cruise ship and mickey and goofy snorkling. I am really excited now to get creative!

Hi, all! :wave2:

Found us on *gasp* the second page...so I thought I'd send us on our way with a hop, skip, and a *bump*!

What is everyone doing now that we are in double digits to get ready for cruisin'?? Help motivate me now that my trip to WDW is done...it's my first cruise, and I get a bit overwhelmed at times!!

I have my passporter (cruise version), sea bands (on clearance at CVS a couple of months ago), carry-on bag, and pack of two underwater cameras. Shopping now at Chadwicks to pick up a few summer clearance items that I will need. I would like to get my passport in the next few weeks...that is my goal!

Anything else we can do to get ready??
:p IVY :p

P.S. April...I see that you are from Greensboro...I'm right across the border in Ridgeway, VA!! *hums a few bars of "It's a Small World"* Where is there a Hobby Lobby in Greensboro?? (My niece, Moriah, and my younger sis, Tiffany-pixiechick77-are HUGE scrapbook fans...and they will be cruisin' along with us!)

Thanks Ivy for preventing our thread from tragically being buried on page 2 (shudders at the thought).

I had ordered the Mickey carpet bag that was on sale about 3 weeks ago and ever since it arrived I've been throwing stuff in there. So far I've got...suction cup hooks, over the door shoe holder, sunscreen, highlighters, refillable water bottles and lots of little extras I can't remember right now.

I'm currently shopping for fins, mask and fins since we figure at the three ports we'd have to rent equipment and it would be just about the same to buy as rent. Recently bought 6 rolling duffels since our luggage is huge and I'm afraid we'd have problems stowing it in the room.

I'm starting to slightly panic since school is starting next week which means I'm going to have less and less time to get all the little extras.

Can't wait to meet you all!

Two more 27ths of the month and then we board! Boy! does time fly by!!

Noticed On dtuleya's last post that her group was in Florida on Thanksgiving. There probably are others also. Ifyou are looking for a place to celebrate Thanksgiving, the Vero Disney Resort has had an excellent buffet on Thanksgiving. We didn't go last year because of our cruise, but probably will this year. Have gone about 3 times, and it was excellent. About $20-25 per adult. The ride from Cocoa Beach to Vero Disney is a pleasant 1 hour drive straight south on A1A. You can make reservations directly with the hotel 60 days prior to Thansgiving.

Just thought I would throw this out to anyone interested! Consider it "Pig Out" practice for the cruise!

Thanks izzinmac for the suggestion. I am wondering where we are going to eat Thanksgiving dinner. I wish we could head to Vero since we're considering staying there a few days next summer. Our flight doesn't land until 3:30 and until we get our car and check-in at Ron Jon, I'm afraid we won't want to get back in the car and drive another hour just for dinner. I wonder if there are any good places to eat closer to the port??? I guess we could also stop at a WDW resort and eat. The 90 day PS date is coming up so we'll have to decide soon.

Ivy, The hobby lobby is on Bridford Parkway around the corner from the Wendover Wally World and across the street from Super K Mart. I am going again this afternoon on my way home from work to pick up some more. I have to have enough to make my cruise scrap-book, Kennedy Space Center one and we are spending Thanksgiving Day at Discovery Cove (I know I need one just for that). hmmmmm I wonder why my DH keeps giving me the spending too much speech. It is just so hard to resist. especially at half price.
That brings me to my next thought. I had not really given it too much thought about Thanksgiving Dinner since we are going to Discovery Cove. We are staying on International Drive until Friday morning. We probably won't want anything huge like Vero Beach since we get a meal at Discovery Cove - it might end up being pressed turkey at Perkins. The only person who will mind that is DH - he might just have to suffer. The kids would be happy with Burger King. Yuck

Izzi please dont tempt me anymore than I already am about spending THanksgiving away from home! As it is were are planning on leaving on Friday. But I would love to spend THanksgiving somewhere else...sigh

Hi all, well its done the cruise, International Drive & Disney are all paid for, YIPEEE,
Has anyone thought about making arrangements for meeting up at the sail away party? We fly out 12th November would love to know before we go (i'm a poet & didnt know it - can you tell i'm excited now?)
On the down side i tryed to telephone Disney to make a PS for thanksgiving - 1900 Park Fayre & couldnt get through!! got through 3 times & each time was put on hold the last attempt i was on hold for 30 minutes!! had to hang up as DH was moaning about the phone bill - bearing in mind we were calling from England!!

Whoa Tracey Thats a whopper of a bill. If you like Pm you info and wat you would like and I can do it for you....You been with me since the beginning of this thread! LOL I would be more than happy to do that for you. Let me know :-)

Hi izzi ( does anyone else think of the animaniacs when you read his screenname BTW? ) did you ever post your pics from this cruise last year? If you are willing to share I would love to see them.

Tracey,

If you let me know what PSs you want I'll call and set them up for you. Give me some alternate choices if your first choice isn't available. My cell phone gives free nationwide long distance so its not a problem. My email address is gailyn.popovich@firstmerit.com.

And, yes, we would love to plan a dismeet at the sail away party. I would also be interested in meeting Friday late afternoon or early evening somewhere for dinner or to watch the ships come in.

I was reading another cruise meet and they were starting to set up weekly chats. That sounded kind of fun although I have no idea how to do it. Is anyone interested? I could do Sunday nights or a week night at 8:00pm or so. I could also do a weekend time if in the afternoon after soccer etc.

I can't believe its getting so close. Has anyone given further thought to excursions?

Have a great weekend. Off to play battleship. My daughter has been begging at my side.::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Back again, done with Battleship......

I can't believe we're under the 90 day mark!!!! I'm soo excited for our first cruise. I have to look up when we can book excursions and spa packages, 60 or 90 days.

We are thinking of doing the Anguilla Dolphin and Stingray Encounter. I read Ann Morin's excellent review and the review in my Passporter. We will also do the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel or the Trunk Bay Sail and Snorkel, they both received nice reviews on these boards.

I plan to book the REASP. I don't know if my DH will want anything to do with it, but we'll see.

Is anyone requesting a specific dining rotation. I read about doing this in my Passporter, but don't know enough about it. It seems that the choices are APLAPL, PLAPLAP or LAPLAPL. Does that sound right

What is everyone wearing on formal night? Anyone packing or renting tuxes???? My DH doesn't want to take up room in our luggage to pack his tux. I'm thinking of packing my Chico's travelers black pants, long skirt and a couple Chico jackets. Easy to pack and no ironing.

Also, what do the kids wear? Our DS is 5 and doesn't own a suit and I don't neccessarily want to buy one. Our DD has some nice sundresses but nothing fancy aside from a new Cinderella costume that she could wear maybe on a semiformal night??? Anyway, I'm confused about this. I've started to look at summer sale items at Dillards and other stores but haven't found anything dressy for the kids.

BTW, if anyone is near a COSTCO, they have kids snorkel sets in mesh carrying bags on sale for $20ish. We just bought two sets and the kids (5 & 7) are practicing in the pool):D

Well, that's enough for now.

Have a great weekend!:wave2:
