11/27/04 the sequel.....

I can't wait for fall!! It seems so long to wait, but I know it will be here before I know it.

I'm glad that there are so many young kids that will be on our cruise! I look forward to getting to know you all as the months progress.

Amanda.....We'll keep you in our prayers.

Later,
Gailyn

THanks Gailyn,
I should no something for sure by the end of the month. I have trip to WDW planned for Feb 4th so depending on my news it may be a last trip to WDW celebration or a Yipee I have a job celebration! LOL I hope everyone has had a nice weekend! We have just lazed around the house today, it sure has been nice to jut be, and not do anything! I am so glad this thread is getting some "action" so to speak! LOL Our halloween cruise was made so much more fun, by the fact that we knew folks before we were onboard. And my children had friends before they even set foot in the clubs. In fact, we went to eat dinner the night before the cruise with a fellow DISer and her family. It was quite enjoyable. And when we went to the first dinner, a fellow DISer was at our same table during the dinner rotation, and that was quite nice also!

WOW has anyone checked radissons rate for the night before our cruise? I just hoped on and it looks like right now they was a min of 159! Yeesh. When we stayed there this past October it was 109 per night for the 2 king suite! Any ideas?

Amanda,
Good luck on your work situation!

It is good to see this thread stay active this soon. On our last cruise, we had a good one going and got to "know" quite a few folks before we left. Way too early to start thinking about a dismeet, but ours didnt work out too well due to weather.

Regarding the Radisson, I live in the area so obviously don't stay there. Also, not familiar with other options. However, there has been a lot of publicity the past few weeks regarding the new RonJon timeshare/resort. Looks like it is located near Jetty Park and supposedly has a large pool with waterslide and lazy river. Since it is brand new, may be an opportunity to make reservations at some introductory offer. Sure it won't be cheap.

Another option that I have observed is a brand new, very nice looking Holiday Inn Express located right on I 95 and SR524, which is one exit south of SR528 that goes to the port. Probably 8 miles to the ship. Looks very nice, indoor corridors and a beautiful pool area. Might be a less expensive option. Doubt if they have a shuttle to the port, but they may.

Bob

Alright Bob! I forgot you and your family live neat port! So you can give us the lowdown on where to stay as you just have! So, do you have a link to the Ron Jon place? It would be interesting to take a look at. If worse comes to worse, we will just hop on priceline and grab a hotel in Orlando the night before for about $30 hopefully. Then pay $70 to park, that will cost me roughly $100 as opposed to $159 to stay at the Radisson for the king suite.
Do you know of any other area hotels that offer shuttle to the port Bob?
THanks for the well wishes on the job situation. I could use all the Pixie Dust I can get on that one.
Has anyone here cruised during November?
We have a trip to WDW planned in about 3 weeks. We are going to be at PopCentury. Anyone stayed there yet?

I've cruised in November several times - I think it's a great month for cruising. It's warm, but not hot/humid like summer. The water hasn't turned cold like it would be in Jan/Feb/Mar.

I'll be checking into Pop Century Friday to try it out for a couple of days - it's definitely an All Star-type place, but the rooms look a little nicer (nicer furniture), and the food court/shop is nicer.

I'm just hoping checking in isn't a huge nightmare, since it's awful at All Stars & Pop Century has even more rooms to serve at the one front desk.

I do keep coming across that fact Sue. About the one check in desk. What were they thinking?? I read someone's trip report here, that said they waited for 40 minutes to check in! Of course, this was in December, if i recall correctly. When will you be back? Please post and let me know how it went, I would appreciate it.
The weather on our recent Halloween cruise was spectacular, and I was hoping it would be the same in November. You have just answered that question for me. Thanks :D

I checked in yesterday, and it was pretty painless. There were 3 families ahead of me in line just after 3pm, but by the time I got to the front of the line there was a huge line of people backed up behind me. I think I just hit it at the right second, lol - we'll see how lucky I am next time on Feb 4th. I won't arrive until early evening that trip.

Parking here at Pop Century is a nightmare - so I've left my car parked at night and used Disney transportation. I didn't want to risk coming back after PI and not being able to find a spot. Supposedly they're working on the problem, but for right now it's pretty tough.

Other than that, I really like this resort. It doesn't compare to the dvc resorts, but for the money they charge I think it's a good value and I know I'll be happy staying here for a night or 2 every so often. I was happy at All Stars too, but this is definitely nicer.

That is very reassuring to hear. What a coincidence, we are checking in on the evening of te 4th! Maybe we will run into each other.

I'm not official yet but this is the cruise that my best friend and I are looking to go on. :)

We will probably book in a couple of weeks. We booked this same cruise a few years ago and had to cancel so I'm really looking forward to this!

I will turn 27 the second day of the cruise and my friend Stephanie will be 26. :)

It would be nice to meet some of you! :wave2:

Anybody else going to be staying overnight before their cruise? We're going to be leaving Thanksgiving day and flying down to spend two days on the beach relaxing before our cruise. Just booked at studio at the new Ron Jon Resort. I can't wait!

Denise,
We will definitely be coming into to Cape Can. the night before. But I can not fathom paying $159 a night for the Rad King Suite, when I only paid $109 in October. We may just stayin Orlando, and I am going to check on the rates for the Ron Jon Resort. Do you mind my asking the rate you received?

Don't mind sharing my information at all.

I first booked the Radisson 1 BR King Suite for $129/night with AAA discount.

I called Ron Jon and I spoke with a great lady named Del. Since we would be checking in on Thursday (Thanksgiving) and it was a higher rate than on Friday, she averaged the two rates for us. We are paying $115/night for a studio suite. I don't remember the rate for the 1 BR, but it was quite a bit higher.

The only thing is you have to pay for one night when you book. It is cancellable up to 72 hours before check in.

In case you missed it, here's an entire thread dedicated to this new resort.

I'll probably book 3 nights prior to the cruise at Villas at Wilderness Lodge. Friends are having us over for Thanksgiving dinner, and they'll be staying there - so it makes sense to book the same resort. Saturday morning we'll make the 1-hour drive to the cruise.

I'm official now! Hurray!

Amanda, thanks so much for recommending Dana at Micdan.com! She gave us the best price and has been super to deal with so far! They have this Customer Service thing totally down pat!

Now we wait... :hyper:

Isnt she great! I love that she is open so much. I am glad you decided to use her! So are you all definitely in then??:bounce:

Deposit is down, airfare is bought, rental car arrangements are made and resort stay is booked! Ok, only about 250 more days until we can book excursions!

Well, I'm here. Michelle dragged me - not quite kicking and screaming - but I'm just as excited about this cruise as she is.

Whee!

How am I going to last 10 whole months?
