We just returned home from this years Halloween cruise and had a BLAST! We rebooked for the week after Thanksgiving next year, looking forward to meeting more DIS'ers! Has anyone booked this one yet?

:Pinkbounc
Horay i,ve found someone! My partner and 10 year old daughter and myself are on this cruise, as of today it,s less than a year away, glad to have found someone else, thought we were going to be the only ones on the ship!!

Certainly we are not the only Dis'ers that are going to be on board? My DS will be 9 at the time we are sailing.I also have 3 other children :-) Do you know what stateroom you have yet? We will have 6050 and 6051! BUt you do have me confused, less than a year? Don't we have a year and 2 weeks left?? LOL

Sorry about the confusion with dates we fly out to Florida 13th November 1 week International Drive 1 week Disney All Stars Movies before cruise. It would be nice if my daughter made a friend before we go as she can be quite shy. We dont get the luxury of knowing our room number when you book in England, I know its a cat 11 might see if i can find out.:wave2:

Giving this a gentle bump, in hopes that those that are just back maybe rebooked for this date next year?

 Boy is there going to be a lot of food for us on that ship!!!
There must be someone else out there!!!!!!

Hey guys--just returned from this exact cruise (11/29-12/06) and we've re-booked for next year!!!!! It's me (29 yrs. by cruise time), dh Shawn (35 at cruise time) and our dd (19 months). This was our first disney cruise w/ a baby (7 1/2 months old) and it was different than our previous ones--but we learned to go w/ the flow!!!!

YEAH!! Add another to the rooster!!! And another Amanda to boot!:Pinkbounc I too will be 29 by cruise time, DH will be 31, DS 9,DD 8, DS 5 and DS guess what??? 19 months at cruise time! LOL Is your DD an April baby? Mine was born on April 30th! This will be his first cruise, as we left him behind with grandma on our Halloween cruise! So, tell us all about your trip, and how it was with a baby. My DH thinks I am cuckoo for wanting to take him, and I need to ease my own worries :teeth:

Yes--Addison was born April 16th..........too bad her birthstone is a diamond and my husband DIDN'T get me one. I felt I deserved one for all the work but........I guess he didn't!!LOL! Anyway--rather spend the money on a cruise!!
To answer your question--we had been on a disney 4 day and 7 day prior to having a baby so obviously things were a whole lot different this time. Not bad--just different. After having her--I tried leaving her at the daycare at the gym I joined when she was about 3 1/2 months. About 2 weeks into it--she decided she wasn't having any of those ladies at the gym day care!!! Cried and cried and I kept getting paged----so decided not worth it. So needless to say--didn't want to take her to Flounders. This meant a lot of nap times in our stateroom and maybe about an hour total by myself (my husband managed to do what he wanted, though. Funny how it works that way, huh??). My parents offered to watch her here and there so we could do something--but I missed her w/in 10 minutes!!!! We did get to do Palo brunch while g-ma and g-pa watched her. If it sounds like I am being negative--I'm not really. Just pointing out this cruise was different than what we had been used to--BUT I loved taking her to the kiddie pool, playing w/ her at CC, showing her all the princesses and characters, etc. Like I said--not bad--just different. Next year I will try Flounders a few times!
People always think I'm crazy for taking her to Magic Kingdom all the time (twice a month) and on a cruise at 7 months but I say this--she may not remember it now--but eventually she will from one trip to the next (plus at MK she's free). And --she DOES respond to all the visual stimulation!! (plus she loves the music). Hope that didn't sound sappy!! I say go for it next year! Maybe I'm crazy but we're doing it again!!

So do you know what room you have yet? BTW my in laws may be joining us on this trip, we are trying to talk them into it. I am taking Nathaniel with us to WDW for hos 1st trip in Feb. We will see how it goes. :earseek:

We are going. Just got back from the 11/29 cruise with my daughter Gassmandy plus our other 6 kids and families. Four of our group signed up on board for 11/27 next year. Gassmandy & family, my wife and myself, and two other daughters and mates. Finished one countdown and now need to start another!!! This will be #8 for us. (Unless I can figure out how to slip in another one on a Florida discount this spring!!) Sorry, Mandy!!

I'll be booking this cruise also, but as a DVC member I have to wait until 11 months prior - which would be 12/29/03. It'll be me & a girlfriend - both mid 40's. It'll be my 8th Disney cruise (14th or 15th overall), and her 4th (6th overall). No kids with us - our sons are teens - mine will be at home & going to high school (senior), while hers will be in his first year in the Air Force. We'll be the 2 ladies avoiding kids, doing fitness stuff in the morning, and otherwise just relaxing with books by day or a glass of wine at night!

Oh WOW! You mean I will get to meet the infamous Sue?!?!?! Yipee! :bounce: I remember reading your trip reports, I think maybe it was an AOL board? It was b4 I find the DIS and I know it was RADP, but I cant quite remember where! I am glad you will be joining us Sue! I loved your trip reports about the Comedy Warehouse in PI and about the young man that used to be your favorite "Doug" but I do not recall his name! LOL

We'll be there!!! DH, DS4 and me. We rebooked while on the 11/29/03 cruise too. Had a fantastic time and can't wait to go again. Hoping the seas will be a little calmer and the Florida weather a little warmer next year.

Izzinmac and Gassmandy - maybe we'll meet this time.

We're trying to convince some other family members to go with us. The two cruises before Disney were with lots of family members - much more fun that way.

OOPS ...looks like I better change my countdown .... maybe tomorrow.

Diane

YAY! Another DISer will be with us! Diane, will your son be 4 or 5 at the time of cruise? One of mine will be 5 at time of cruise.

Glad there are more out there going on this cruise!!
Was the ship decorated for Christmas/Thanksgiving??
Was it full? How was the weather? Any info would be great.:wave2:

For this year's 11/29 Eastern, we had the following
Weather - A mixed bag. Saturday at the port was clear and very cold. It had been in the low 80s all week in florida, and then a front came through and dropped the temps into the 50s-low60s. Sunday at sea was a little warmer, not as windy, but overcast. As I recall Monday at sea was definitely warmer and sunny. Tuesday and Wednesday in both ports were very nice-sunny and mid 80s. And then along came Thursday at sea!!! Wednesday night we started rocking and rolling (and we weren't on BeatStreet!) and by the time we saw daylight waves were 12-15 feet and it was very windy and overcast! They did predict clearing by mid afternoon, but instead it got steadily worse and ended up with the wave at 13-20 feet into the night. I went up on deck about noon and all three pools were nearly empty from the water sloshing around. I actually have a photo or two of the water smashing against one end of the pool and splashing a good 10 feet in the air. Woke up on Friday expecting the worse (not being able to dock at CC) but the weather was ideal, calm, and sunny. Beautiful day there - about 80 degrees all day. As we were leaving we could see a front moving towards CC (probably the same one we went through on Thursday). Got back to the port on Saturday to another cold day! (I understand from other threads that the Wonder could not dock at CC on Saturday). All ports were great - days at sea not great!

Ship- Beautiful as usual, with Christmas decorations up upon embarkation! Weather didnt help the sailaway (Brrrrrr). Had a tree lighting ceremony sunday night at 7:45, and they had gingerbread house decorating classes several days. The large gingerbread house took shape over the course of the week . We did not get to see the new Disney show, but we were the last sailing to have Darren Romeo (from Siegfried and Roy) perform. He was fabulous!! Actually glad it worked that way- I know there will be other opportunities to see the new show!!!

We had the PLAPLAP rotation, which I think was best. Had formal night in Lumieres and tropical in Parrot Cay.

Even with the weather issues, everyone had a great time. Since I live in Florida, the weather seemed a little more extreme than normal. I know while we were at sea they had the first ever recorded tropical storm in the Caribbean for a December! So hopefully next year will bring less waves!!

I live in Florida too, and the weather can be a bit iffy this time of year - but once we sail the odds for warm sunny weather increase! In any event, if I'm on a cruise ship - I'm happy regardless of the weather. We had heavy rain the entire day at Castaway Cay in September, and I enjoyed spending the day on the ship just doing nothing special.

Amanda - I look forward to meeting you, too. I'm still hanging out at Comedy Warehouse, although the actor you're referring to (Layden) has been gone from there for a few years. Right now he's playing the Genie in the Aladdin show at Disneyland for a 6-month contract.

I was on the 11/8 Magic this year, and when the ship came back into port 11/15 I noticed the Christmas tree was up in the terminal. They most likely decorated the ship during the 11/15-22 cruise, so we should have it all decorated for us next year!
