11/26/2011 EARLY Bananahead reunions cruise

ya just have to wonder how many threads this thing is gonna have...

Ok, any predictions, speculations as to where this new ship is gonna take us, whats gonna be cool on it, whats gonna be different?

I'll bet the cost for a boarding pass is different! :lmao:

RCCL is charging upwards of 50% more for a cabin on the Oasis.......the thing is 3 times the size of a normal ship yet 80% of the cabins are smaller? :sad2:

Yes you can do it!!

Start saving now. Here is what I do to help for cruise money.

I have a special piggy bank and ALL change goes in it. NO exceptions! Plus all $1 go into a zip lock baggie and when I get $25 they go into the safe and we NEVER touch them. They cease to exist once they are in the baggie. No Exceptions.
I know most dont use cash anymore so I make sure every payday I get out at least $20 cash. I use it for bread and milk type things and once I break it I put away the change and ones.
If any of the 20 is left by next payday it goes into the safe too. You dont miss a little at a time.
Here we have bottle deposit and when i take in the cans and bottles that goes into the vacation money.

One last thing that really adds up fast. We have a cash back rewards credit card. I get double on gas and groceries. I use it constantly for what I would normally buy, never buy just to use it.
When I use it I deduct it from my check book as if i used my debit card so when the bill comes I ALWAYS PAY IT OFF No interest that way. No bill adding up.

Since last Novembers cruise until now I have around $500 saved between doing those things. I may not have enough to pay for a cruise but I can pay for tips, excursions, souvenirs, hotel the night before the cruise etc..

That really helps. Many have garage sales too.

So YES you can do it. Start now and you will amaze yourself at how the little things add up.:thumbsup2

Who else has tips for helping to save for a cruise? Every tip can help everyone to save for it. I am always looking for ways to cut back and help pay for another cruise:woohoo:

Kathy

Kathy...I like your idea, but do you put your singles in a baggie everyday or just on Fridays?

I do the change thing and since I have direct deposit I also write myself a check every payday for 10% of what ever I get paid and that goes into my vacation envelope.

OK I posted on page one, got no e mails from the DIS until today and there is FIVE pages. :confused3

I really think we need to change the thread from Nanaheads to the Seinfeld thread...You know the thread about "NOTHING" :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm actually trying to recurite people to come along on this trip......

I emailed my son yesterday and told him/invited him and his girlfriend plus her mom and some of their friends.....same with Heather....so hopefully I will get some new nana's to come along....!!!! I'm going to ask my sister Marge and see if they may want to come along also....I figure I have enough time to pressure ummmm I mean to ask people to join our happy little bunch!!!!;)

Bill: new ship.....what Shell said, but I also heard that they will have more veranda cabins...but thats about it.....hopefully this ship will be caribbean bound....I have a feeling one of the ships will be equiped for alaska..:confused3

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Denise...when we went on the tour of the Magic in November...The person giving the tour said the new ships will be in the Caribbean until all the kinks are worked out. They like to keep them close when they are new.

Now we need to get the rest of the gang on board....wheres my bubba???

Here I be! I finally figured out what you were talking about on Facebook.

Lisa and I will definitely be looking into this crusie!:thumbsup2

Waterpark

Any of those would be awesome!!

If they could combine the water slides from the Carnival ships and the spray parks from RCCL they'd have a winner!! :thumbsup2

Do you think there will be a casino to keep the prices more reasonable?

It will be bigger.

(And you wondered why he married me)
I still wonder sometimes,.... why should anyone else be different. As for new things on new ships. Monkeys that assist the waiters at dinner....how cool would that be? That should open a big ol can of whup-*** on our last waiters---discuss.

Happy Wednesday nanaheads:goodvibes

Joanna I save the ones in a zip lock baggie until I get 25 of them, then paper clip them together and throw them in the safe. That way they are easy to count up when I count them later or turn them into the bank for larger bills.
When i get $25 worth of rolled coins I change them and and throw the $25 in the safe too.:thumbsup2

I think they may have a mini golf because kids can do that and Disney is themed towards kids. Maybe a slide on the adult pool and the restaurants will be themed differently I am sure. Clubs should be themed differently too.

I dont think Disney will do a casino. Many of their patrons have posted they are glad there is no casino. They dont want their kids around that atmosphere. If there was I think it would be hidden away on a lower deck and very small compared to other cruise lines casinos .

I am hoping the rooms will have a different theme to the bedspreads , lights and curtains. It needs to feel like a totally different ship than the first 2.
Also I am hoping the buffet is set up differently. Lines will move faster if they can redesign that too.

Dang it, its raining. They didnt predict any rain today:confused3 Suppose to be 75 today. Hope it passes soon.

I have also been trying to find people to tell about this cruise. I am going to write Pat & Steve today too.

got to run, pups need a break,

later all, Kathy

They definitely need to improve the kid's water play area. It needs to be MUCH bigger. It just doesn't make sense on a ship that caters to children to have one small area. I'd like to see them do similar to what freedom of the seas has for the little ones.

And they say I'M the master of the obvious...

As far as casinos.. we live in a town with casinos... and hardly ever go there. It's not necessary for me on a cruise ship. Just lots of blue water and some fro fro drinks!

I really really hope they will give us the option to either have a split bath or one large one. I know a lot of people feel the same as me. I would rather have one large one. I also hope they make the adult areas bigger. I could care less about a casino but maybe that's because I live in Vegas.

Did you get waiters in training too?.....It didn't bother me so much except for the premium price I paid! :lmao:

our waiters weren't the cream of the crop.... heck, they weren't even the cream of the wheat. Hi Mickey...still pinin' for the old country? Well, get us a few drinks before ya start cryin....

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan on the "split bath" either......when your 6'5 280lbs the more room the better. :thumbsup2

The adult areas I didn't pay to much attention to because we had the kids. If Janel and I were going to do a cruise without the kids it would be with Regent Seven Seas or Seabourn.

That's an understatment, they were terrible. Worst service we have had on any cruise.
